A lot of verbal diarrhea instead of plain speaking here. Israel is a settler-colonial state in Palestine, created by European settlers, facilitated by British imperialism. The world's leading human rights organisations describe it as an apartheid state (HRW, Amesty & B'selem) in their 2021/2 Reports citing hundreds of pages of evidence. Israel's only legitimacy derives from international recognition by other states who had no regard to the rights of the indigenous people who were terrorised out or who remained under martial law from 1948-67. Israel's leaders feared the demographic threat of a Palestinian majority after 1967 when it overran the whole of Palestine. By today, that threat has been realised & it's becoming increasingly clear to observers across the world that Israel is using October 7 & Hamas as cover for restoring a Zionist majority through genocide & ethnic cleansing of 2.3m people in Gaza into the Sinai. Already over 20,000 people have been murdered, including at least 7,700 children & over 5,000 women by Israeli bombs missiles & shells. The population is being corralled into an ever smaller area in the enclave. Statements by leading Israeli politicians including Netanyahu, indicate the intention of extermination or removal of the population. His reference to "Amalek" is particularly notable & offensive. (Deuteronomy 25:17-19). Such statements meet the standard of proof of intent in the Genocide Convention of 1948, itself a rare occurrence. The mass murder of civilians is self-evident proof of the act of genocide. Should these fascists succeed they will undoubtedly turn their attention to the 3.1m Palestinians in the West Bank meting out the same treatment in order to drive them into Jordan. We don't have to guess the eventual fate of the 2m in 1948 Israel. What is happening now is a nightmare played out before the entire world. Hundreds of millions of people see the scenes in Gaza day after day & are utterly horrified. If you haven't watched them on social media, you should. Israel is supported only by corrupt political elites in the West & US vassals here & there. By it's refusal to withdraw from the "occupied territories" Israel has effectively made occupation permanent & created one state. Its extensive settlement of the WB has rendered a two-state solution, if it ever existed, impossible. The only viable solution left, other than a purely racist Zionist ethno-state (which is repugant to any civilised mind) is one democratic state with equal rights for all its citizens from the river to the sea in Palestine, & strong international safeguards for its minorities. I'm of the opinion that this will eventually be the outcome, certainly when the US withdraws from the region, if not before. How many innocents must suffer & die before it happens is anyone's guess. There won't be many tears when the Zionist project is no more.
