A Rare Encounter
This was the craziest happening with a bird I’ve ever experienced. When I saw that the young starling was close by and curious, I quickly ran into the house to get my phone… and I’m so glad that I did cause now I’m able to show and share with you everything that went on during the duration of the encounter. I haven’t seen this bird since but I’m so glad that I was able to befriend it even though our greeting was all of 5 minutes. Have you had any cool experiences with wild animals that made your jaw drop?! Please share your moment(s) in the comment section below- I’d love to hear your story! 🙌

Why Jesus came⁉️

From the Gospels we discover the underlying motivations of Jesus. He says exactly the reasons why He came…. All are verbatim though a few have kept me puzzled a bit.I thought it would be interesting to share them with you all. Enjoy this short Bible study. I understand that most of these overlap one another in meaning. Different titles may be used to mean the very same thing that a previous or ...

These are the most important animals on the entire farm. This team protects our poultry and ruminants from getting eaten by foxes and coyotes. They get the job done when we’re fast asleep. This is a brother and sister team that show their love to the farmer and for the farm by working hard day in and day out. Guarding is in the Great Pyrenees blood and they do such an amazing job at that.
Why do innocent people suffer? | Luke 13

Join me for this short Bible study. It’s a heart wrenching topic to say the least and one that people have wondered at least once in their lifetime. Honestly, I can’t really answer the question, but I know that God has a greater plan behind it all… He is Sovereign and He will continue to be throughout time and Eternity. 🙌

Foraging Stinging Nettle
Переглядів 6Місяць тому
Spring fever is different for everybody; for me there’s nothing better to look forward to then foraging for wild edibles after the thaw of winter is past. Along with juniper, forsythia flower, dock and dead nettle, I was excited to find a large patch of juvenile stinging nettle. Because of three excitement of the moment and my laziness to not run home and get a pair of gloves, I picked them bar...

I tried purchasing some bird house gourd seeds from Etsy last year and they did not come. I had signed out as a guest on the site so I had no record of buying them. I tried to call Etsy but I couldn't find out how to contact them. Where did you find your seed from? Do you buy any F1 seed? I try not too. Have a nice day. What are you canning with your harvest? I would love to see videos on that. I picked up a half bushel of Roma's and made salsa that I froze in small containers. The rest of the tomatoes I made marinara sauce. So good. 🍅

@@LouiseDiane-v5n Hello! It’s good to hear from you. I only have grown birdhouse Goard one time and they did come out quite succulent and healthy. I get my seeds from Johnny’s selected seeds- they are honest enough to tell you the percentage of germination and when it was tested. They are a trusted company that I absolutely love. I do buy F1 seed unfortunately. But I will try to steer clear of them and buy heirloom in their place. I have canned many things. I actually have a video on my channel called “Luke’s Larder” that includes most of the things I’ve canned so far. I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had time to make much canning videos or even edit ones that I’ve already videoed. Hopefully I’ll have some relief some day soon so that I can start uploading more current footage. I appreciate your comment. It means the world to me. Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Everything looks so healthy. We moved to a new home. Next spring I want to start some flowers in my little grow station my son made me. I want to put it in my living room window but my husband said no. My husband and son said to start the flowers on the grow station in the basement. Looking at your plants in the basement it gives me hope that I can grow plants in the basement. I will eventually put the plants outside in the garden.

@@LouiseDiane-v5n that’s awesome. I’m glad you were inspired by this small tour of mine. As long as they have healthy soil, plenty of light, air flow and you check them often for bugs you’ll be well on your way to growing a jungle in your own basement- hope you have fun with your future endeavors.

Luke, now that your making great jam and pickles you should enter them in The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto Ontario. The first, second and third prize ribbons are huge. It's a bit nerve racking the first couple years you enter I found but over all its a lot of fun. I think you could win a ribbon. The Royal is open to the whole world to enter. Liked your video 🪲🌿🌷

Cardoon, also known as Burdock, grows native here in Upstate New York. Unlike its poisonous copycat Rhubarb- both leaves and stem are edible. The leaf is very very bitter even if picked small. Make sure to mask the flavor by putting it in salad with dressing, soup etc.

I’m certain it is mullein. Foxglove is more pointy and has no “fur” lamb’s ear on the other hand grows very small silky leaves at maturity. I’m pretty sure these were 2 year old mullein leaves.they are biennial.

Nice pantry! I sell jam at markets; people LOVE strawberry rhubarb and cherry rhubarb jams so if you are looking for easy gifts these are great. Also strawberry rhubarb pie and quick breads. The pickled green tomatoes can turn into a yummy salsa verde when you are ready to use them! Lastly, not so sure about half gallon of rhubarb jam is safe. I think the half gallon jars are mostly for juice
