The volume wasn't even loud here. But even so, I got rid of the old Fender Cabinet. I bought the V3 Rumbles. One 410 and one 115 along with a Rumble 500 head. Much better quality! Especially with the Eminence speakers installed! 😁

I tried to tightening the grill itself and it didn't do much at all. So at the end I pretty much got the new Rumble series cabinets which sound much better and are built better! Only issue is sometimes the cloth seems to buzz on high volumes. Which is kinda irritating but nonetheless nothing compared to this.

Just because it is a Sabian doesn't mean it rips drumsticks. All Cymbals eat up drum sticks if you don't know how to play properly. But at the moment, I upgraded mostly to Paiste cymbals and Zildjian. Still, have like 2 Sabian cymbals but I have no problem with them getting destroyed quickly.

Those CX-500 are very good rides for an intermediate level cymbal. Kind of similar to Paiste 505s which I think Pearl was trying to copy. I have a Pearl CX-900 20" Heavy Ride model from 1987 that I love. Sounds very much like a 2002 or 3000 Heavy from back then. The CX-500 hi-hats are also pretty good.

+Todd Little I do agree that they were trying to copy Paiste from the looks of their Wild crashes compared to Paiste Rude. And I am surprised that that they do sound good! Though for the ride I have in the video i slightly dented the edges due to my use of crashing on a ride though I don't play heavy metal. But yeah, these cymbals do sound impressive! If they made these cymbals again with their current drum sets, they would be a HIT!

The 80s era Pearl CX-600 (1982-1986) and CX-900 (1987-1989) lines were pro cymbals and highly underrated. If you see them today you can often steal them for low prices because most younger players just confuse them with the crappy cymbals Pearl has been selling for the last 20 years and a lot of older drummers just refuse to believe Pearl actually made high quality cymbals rivaling the big boys. My ride was only $35 plus shipping and it looks almost brand new and sounds amazing. The CX-500 series had the two very nice rides (the 22" is even better than the 20" imo) and the hats were nice too. From what I've heard, the crashes were just ok but fine for the price point of the time period.

+Todd Little I might give them a shot to add to my cymbal collection in the future. Though the 22inch 900 seriee really sparks my interest.

Its indeed Heavy thats for sure. As for loudness, Its kinda between loud and soft. Very Articulate though.

That would be interesting. But to compare three rides where one is different brand than the others is kinda strange.

That would be strange, indeed. I image how odd is the sound goes comparing Paiste Signature & 502 with Pearl CX-500 ride.

I would like to correct myself and add specific names to the drum head. It's Evans EC2 Frosted. It's 2 ply coated semi-transparent.
