Nice playing!
Thanks!
Nice voice for this guitar. Sounds like mine. Gotta love that snap!
I agree, these SG's have their own unique voice, very different from a Les Paul or ES-335. Kind of a vocal quality. I had never, in all these years had an SG and I really like this guitar. I think it may be Gibson's best guitar at that price point. Just my subjective opinion of course...
Is that seafoam green with a mint guard? Looks so good! I feel so exclusive to listen to your playing Sam. Keep it up. Even if it is for a small audience!
Thanks! Yeah, I really like the look and the pickups in this guitar.
Nice!!
Got one as well, amazing fuzz
Good sound
Thanks Steve!
There are sone good ideas and tones here
Nice playing, good sustain as always
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day ❤😊
Thanks for share!!! sounds really good!
can you tell me which backing track you used? 🤓🤓
I just looped the chords over a drum track from my Boss (RC-10R). I think I did it in G, ( G - Bm - F -C ) but the original I believe was in F and a bit slower tempo.
@@samnewton5959 thank you. it sound really good
Nice work. Thanks.
Nice!
Awesome ❤😊
Lively phrasing
Nice!
Hey, Sam.Were you influenced by bill bailey of atlanta rhythm section ??
Oh man.... that strat sounds sweet!!!
It's not too bright and Twangy like a normal tele . that's what I like about it.I t's warm and punchy and articulate
I really dig the sound of this tele ! It sounds phenomenal. Are these a stock 50s?Custom shop pick ups like in the bridge position. It's got just enough umph and thickness in the midrange with out being too much. It still sounds big and open sounding and articulate.
I think Fender calls them 50-51 Blackguard pickups. The wiring on this is Modified '51 Nocaster Wiring. Mike Lewis from the CS explains it in detail here >>> ua-cam.com/video/jn2HpF25o0M/v-deo.htmlsi=s1NDj_ZrX9FvzwX3
Question sam you're using porter pickups and this guitar? For that work equally as well for a 69 Telly thin line.Semi hollow body?
Absolutely beautiful playing sam! and beautiful tone! Are these songs by chance originals? They're really nice songs Instrumentals.
Thanks David! The backing track is just something I radomly played on my looper. I think I came up with the riff and then added some chords I thought sounded okay.
If you're Interested Sam I have Real P AF pick ups from the late 50s.And my shop for sale!
Sam your plan is beautiful man and your tone is great What kind of amp is that you're playing a ceritone ots 20? Sounds like you've got two e l 84 power tubes in it . I'm Sure that r 9 les paul Is helping too! I used to work for gibson twenty three years five of those years of the custom shop. The lower output pickups are really super And They are mismatched and the windings on the bottom like the real p.A.f pick ups were in the 50s. The real secret to those however is the lightness in the bodies. When I work for gibson they used to send me in a few other guys in a van before they got There c n c body routing machine at the custom shop. And the guitars would be raw.No finish or hardware.Just neck and body glued together. We would weigh them on a scale and there was twenty five on iraq that it would normally be At least two or three racks of twenty Five at the main factory. If they weighed under 8 pounds. We separated them and another rack. All the ones that weighed more than eight pounds went to u s a electric gibson division period the main plant. All of the Is les pauls Under eight pounds went to the custom shop For r 8's and r 9's . The general consensus was that the lighter weight bodies were more resonant and lively and had better tone
Thanks, David! The OTS 20 uses two 6V6 tubes for the power section. I have always been impressed with the CS Les Pauls.
@samnewton5959 Wow I would never have guessed that amplifier had 6v6 power tubes. Did I have a really sweet Grail of 66 power tubes?Their white script late 50s balanced iMatched g.E 6v6 s. I also have a few pair of RC.A's Black plates . I actually am a tube seller and dealer on ebay
Its ok but i prefer the sound of my 98 Korean Samick blonde .
I didn't realize Samick made a Sheraton. So it has mini-humbuckers? If I recall this guitar was made around 2004, from the Terada Japan factory.
arerrrrrrrr 9 What a beauty that one is. Sounds like a million bucks too. Great playing Sam. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for your kind words and thanks for listening!
Lovely
Thanks for listening!
It's good. ❤
Thank you!
u sound great tone control a bit lower? ash body?
Thank you! I no longer have this guitar but as i recall this was an alder body...
@@samnewton5959- why’d you sell it, if I might ask?
@@sboy1955 As I recall I traded it for a CS 62/63 Strat. Kind of a spur of the moment thing. I think Nash Strats and Tele's are super nice guitars and a good alternative to CS guitars for feel and sound. The Lollar's are really nice pups, in either guitar.
@@samnewton5959 - thanks 👍🏽
Sick 🔥
Thank you!
Amazing -thank you
Thank you Sophia!
Great playing and tone. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you for listening!
If you change your mind about selling it again please let me know.
Hi Bill, unfortunately I traded it to a music store for CS Strat this past year. And of course in retrospect I wish I had kept it. I also have a 335 but I find I prefer the mini humbuckers for their clarity. Typical sellers remorse. Cheers!
Thanks for letting me know. You my find another one sometime!@@samnewton5959
Reminds me a bit of “en la ciudad de la furia” 🤘
In The City Of Fury? I went and listened to the band playing it live, and yes, it does have an ascending line starting at Em -G - Asus and then variations of that. Very nice! Cheers...
Nice...sound of fender strat...👍
GREAT SONG ... BEAUTIFUL GUITAR!
Thanks for listening! Yeah, 335's are pretty awesome...
Great playing
Thank you!
Nice Gary Moore-esque playing.
Thanks so much. I always liked his interpretation of the jazz classic Autumn Leaves...
Sam you are an awesome player, love to watch & listen to you, sounds absolutely great
Thank you, I appreciate your kind feedback!
nice!
Thank you!
Nicely done.
Great Sound Man.! ❤

Very nice playing TY- Cheers!
Thanks!
Dynamic. What is the reverb from?
The reverb is a Hardwire RV-7
That’s sweet! Great sounding strat.
Thanks!
Man… you and Duke Levine make me want to play more often
Nice. What color is that?
Thanks! Not sure what color it is supposed to be as this guitar is a partscaster and I believe the body came from MJT. The color is similar to the Tele Robben Ford plays, so kind of a faded yellow.
Dude this is great playing. I keep coming back 👍
JoaoSilva-dv5wi, Thanks!
Nice
