Looking forward for Hunter of Left hand Path and Preator from Court Legion. Love your vid! keep up the good work
We need more videos! Can you pls review additional unit for Court 7 Serpent. Im looking forward on your thoughts
Honestly the front loaded maths was a bit over my head but its great to see a tactical breakdown of the factions, great video, subbed.
Thank you for this. Barkly's videos are nice but I love a video that goes even more in-depth on tactics!
Glad you found it useful. There's a lot of interesting design space in the units and it's fun to see how differences between the factions actually manifests
Thanks for the in depth analysis ! Looking forward the assassins of halamut !
Thanks. Should be done by the end of the weekend.
One of the best TC content creators
No ep 25. I thought you were a rare one of principal. Fine. I'll figure out the secrets and deep math myself.
These were just example lists from the KS option correct?
@@Colonel-WhiteRaven126 Yes, these were lists composed entirely out of the default Kickstarter warbands. The idea was for these to be playable lists right out of the box so to say
This is a great guide! I have one correction though: you can’t take the viscera cannon with a shield. The strong keyword only lets you use a single 2-handed melee weapon as a 1-handed melee weapon. The viscera cannon is 2 hands and is not a shield combo weapon. You could do a few things to fix it. - remove the shield, using the extra ducats to buy a 1-handed melee weapon for the knight to use as an offhand weapon OR - switch out the viscera cannon for a putrid shotgun, which as the shield combo rule. You could also do a pistol, as that is one handed and could be used in an off-hand in melee if you were trying to go cheap, but it wouldn’t benefit from the knights good melee profile I can’t tell you how many times my friends and I messed this up in our test games so far. The fact that strong let’s you take a two-handed melee weapon with a shield always leads to me forgetting that I can’t do the same with every 2-handed ranger weapon as well
I see you put that the knight gets 3 armor in melee as opposed to just 2 from the standard armor when using the viscera cannon, but shields ALWAYS take 1 hand and cannot be stowed
@@dawsengoodfellow9891 Ah yes I did totally miss that shields can't be ever stowed (yet for some reason you can stow massive cannons without issue). I made the same mistake with the Praetor in one of my bands I'm currently having an issue working out the rules for this 3 handed creature I have, where in ranged it has a 2 handed gun and a shield in the 3rd off hand, then in melee (it's Strong) I've got it wielding a Greats word in its primary hand, and then the other two hands are a polearm which with shield combo I believe means there shouldn't be any conflict
I’m assuming this is the desecrated Saint? As far as I can tell, that should work just fine? I swear, hand math is the hardest part of kitting out a warband 😂
@@dawsengoodfellow9891 This is actually the Tawkin homunculus I've built for the variant warband video I'm working on. I imagine a couple of these things will get clarified in later versions as more people ask these exact questions. Similar to how as far as I can tell there's nothing stopping you from putting multiple damage type keywords on a weapon so the alchemists can just create warcrimes out of grenades
The takwin was my second guess. If I had remembered that you said you were building Sultanate, I probably would have guessed that first. I was probably thinking the Saint because you mentioned the praetor lol. Yeah, there’s still a lot of questions, more which will come once people start playing more after the stls get sent out I expect. The alchemists with grenades sounds like a nasty combo. If that ends up being legit I might have to make a house of wisdom warband
There is an item that comes with the Papal States warband variant that, basically, turns Risky Actions into normal Actions. Then you can constantly Aim with a Sniper Priest and, pretty much, never miss.
@@chuckhoyle1211 yep. I focused on just the default warbands for these vids, but there's a lot of stuff like that in faction variants that do a good job of changing up your strategies
Great breakdown of the factions, please keep pushing the content. Its probably the most helpful synopsis i have found for trench crusade so far. Do you have any other projects with TC info in the works? I'd really like to see your takes on the faction varients .
@@5olaris88 Faction Variants are a logical next step. Other than that, some battle reports maybe just to see them in action. Any variant in particular you'd like to see first?
useful info, thanks
Thanks. Great to see the points. And the run through of how fireteams can be used effectively.
Glad you found them helpful. Didn't exactly have to cost wiggle room here to mention it, but an easy upgrade is to give fireteam members weapons with multiple attacks, as it makes triggering bloodbath even easier when you're getting 4-5 attacks in one activation. The Prussian warband variant homes in on this by making submachine guns and automatic pistols more available
@ yeah I’m trying to figure out the rock/paper/scissors aspects. SMGs look great but then some evil and heavy units like you need fire and other armour ignoring to have any chance to take them out. So mixed arms are the go and the bolt action rifle seems almost irrelevant except to have more guys to have more activations. And it seems builds with grenades and two hand weapons can really be nasty in assaults. And then flamers do not need to hits so good on basic guys and a waste in guys with bonus to hit dice. And then there is the campaign aspect that I need to reread - am I better maxing elites and guys to benefit most from that or kitting my guys so my elites survive and don’t get nasty negative wounds. And mercenaries look great but don’t benefit it seems from the campaign.
@@jasonprince8016 Yeah mixed arms are definitely the way to go. Especially if you're not making assumptions about who you're playing. IRL you're likely to be playing people who'll primarily play 1 or 2 factions so you can develop a sort of local meta with them (the friend I primarily play with mains Black Grail, so I've become traumatized by durability), but the degree of variance in scenarios makes it still hard to develop the "perfect" squad. Grenades are a great supplement for melee focused units because of both the assault and bonus markers they give. Definitely correct read on the flamers, makes your worst units much deadlier, but doesn't help elites much. For campaign, I'd say going heavier on the elites than you would normally is probably a good idea simply because of how strong the skills can make them, but probably trying to grab those extras between battles 2-3 when your resources go up rather than off the bat since at 700 ducats you're a bit tight if we start taking even more elites and kitting them. You want expendable units to be the ones dying, since those injuries can completely ruin a unit. So if your normal warband has 2 elites in it, I'd say bump it up to 3 for example. Regarding Mercanaries, yeah they don't get a lot of benefits, but there is something to consider is that they can be very cost effective since most cost 2-5 GP, which doesn't cut into your ducats budget while still coming equipped with entire kits. It seems each GP is around 30-40 ducats worth when you consider the equipment and statlines the mercenaries tend to have. So I'd say good uses for either shoring up weaknesses in your faction's lines (such as new antioch hiring those melee specialists) or after you've already bought the 1 or 2 glory items you've identified as big upgrades for your warband.
Super stoked for this game
Yeah it's what finally made me pull the trigger on getting actually into a tabletop skirmish game. Have played a bit of BattleTech beforehand but otherwise had mostly dealt with different types of strategy games.
Loving these videos
Really looking forward to new Antioch.
Should have it done hopefully by Thursday night. Full work day in between means editing will take a bit.
Be good to see the totals for each troop type when you display them. Also when referring to graphs would be good to see markers ont he graphs that correspond to your words.
@@jasonprince8016 Thanks for the feedback. By totals I assume you mean their ducat costs correct?
Yes just helpful to see total cost per unit. I’m finding new Antioch tricky to build cheap units that do much so interested to see the balance between factions. You could wrap this into series up perhaps with 6 columns with the factions summarised to contrast the costs and numbers. I do wonder if lots of activation gives a big advantage to the person who has them or if tougher units are better.
@jasonprince8016 I'll give a more in depth response when it's not 1am in the morning, but overall there's a couple things to consider regarding warband size in terms of number of units. 1. If you're playing a campaign or randomized scenarios, you won't necessarily always be able to benefit from that due to deployment restrictions on the number of units. 2. Morale tests. Since these are triggered based on half your units being gone, if half your units are easy to pick off, you can find yourself in danger of immediately having to retreat or take a massive debuff (this is actually how I lost my last game). 3. 4 attacks with -1 dice have less chance of one attack hitting than 2 attacks with +0 (albeit barely). So if you're going for fodder units, honestly the shotguns I've found feel the best at the minimum price point. Part of why I believe Azebs are the best bang for your buck units in the game. 4. Number of activations of course has benefits in of itself of being able to for example exhaust all your opponents units and before moving your final units around, but since the game operates on a unit by unit turn phase rather than say in Battletech where phases all happen simultaneously, saving your good units for end isn't necessarily the best since by then you've given up the ability to remove unactivated models from play. 5. New Antioch in particular has an interesting place in this due to their fireteams allowing a lot more flexibility about turn order, which of course comes with more opportunities for misplays
Really good keep it up.
Thanks. Going to try and improve my recording quality in the upcoming sets
Also the kickstarter just reopened so might be worth linking that. Ah you do my bad
Great job! Very informative :)
Thanks. Been geeking out over the game since I've finally been getting a chance to play it. I think the designers have done a great job with a relatively simple system.
@@shanagbaimuru3926 Haha, the same on the geeking part! We're still in the middle of building a table for this, but maybe next week I'll be having a demo game with some proxies :) But so far I really like the vibes around the game and the rules seem quite solid
excellent breakdown
They both zombies and Eldlich a control/summon support archetype so why not both?
I just bought this game last weekend, and the blade dancer was my 7th companion, and there's no way they are not going to Nerf this class. That new companion is so broken, she jumps around killing everything! She is by far the most powerful class as a damager.. atleast in Act 1
@@jmmywyf4lyf Yeah she's seems absolutely cracked. So much mobility AND defensive ability on top of DPS is just wild.
That force sword is so good, iv gotten hendrix the dualwillding perks so he can use both of his swords one after the other
@@wil1234111 yeah I've found him to be hitting so hard now that I've got his pay rating actually scaling
glad your keeping your relationship up with best girl cassia
It's actually so funny how much you can tell she really was the dev teams favorite. Girl's been directly nerfed like 3 times and is still godlike and has continual interactions & narrative beats
Also yes, if you come to the station first you can save her servants and she is very grateful
I dont know if you figured it out yet in your later episodes but revel in slaughter can be reused as long as you kill the amount of enemy's you need to, it is great to get it stacking even late game, i was able to prock it 3 times and had insane critical damage and chance
iv almost finnished this game and im hype for the DLC
Yeah, my friends that have beaten the game are also pretty excited about it.
Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what ya might get. its difficulty things are not as shown exactly lol
Hey brother I really like the effort you put into your videos and I appreciate that being a youtube full time is hard (I don't really know if your fulltime so just bare with me) keep up the good work and one day your hardworking will pay you of so keep up
Thanks. Full time I'm actually a physicist, I'm mostly doing this as a fun way of sharing some of my gameplay experiences with friends/family and anyone who stumbles upon the channel
Great
Yeah, I don't think you can optimally play this game ever. I have probably close to a 1000 hours played and I still wipe out and die quite a lot lol
Yeah. So far this has been by far my best run, but man does not having solid inheritance laws make holding together empires a task
How many cadet branches have your uncles made, just the two? Kind of want to see the tree again! Still, Empire of Britianna here we come!!
If you're still a child by the time the war ends, you should do the meet the peers discission. You can get a lot of stat points by doing that. Or you know, stress and the wounded trait! Still worth it in my opinion. Great episode!!! RIP King Bielo, almost emperor of Britianna 😇🤗
So close to greatness. He did pretty good all things considered. Heir just needs to duct tape the rest of the empire together
Almost there!!! 😁
You're so close to becoming Britianna! You should save your money and pick up as many counties as you need for the empire title. Maybe that's why Bielo has lived this long? Great episode!!!😆
You've got to keep on keeping on, I guess. Just live until you can live no more 😅😂🤩
Yeah, man's just too healthy
Thanks for the look at the family tree! 😄Your latest wife has given you three daughters and you've named all of them Uta. 😅 Hope you do well in the tournament, or at least live through it!!!
Lol I didn't even notice that. You can tell when Bielo here really started phoning it in after the like 7th kid
Hope we get a look at your family tree soon. Now all your son's are landed, I don't think you get told when they have kids. 😆
marry high steward character and keep the land
Feels like tomorrow is ages away! Can't wait for next episode 😆
Really liking the series! Especially the tourney 😆Can we get a look at your family tree? How many grandchildren do you have now? Which of your sons are going to get what?
Since I have a somewhat busy schedule I've got the next few prerecorded, but I'll be sure to do this next time I play. I definitely look around a bit in the succession lines, but haven't looked in the dynasty tab for a bit
Oh no! Time for a new wife I guess 😇😜
Yep. Mr Bielo Green here hasn't had the best matrimonial luck it seems
Legendary!!!
KUDOS!!! 😁
You've got to marry foreign princesses to your sons to get an alliance with them. Not your no-name knights. 😋 Great episode though. Can't wait for the next one!
Yeah, there's also like a dearth of decent options right now because a lot of people are already married or don't have people in their courts it seems. It's fine though, ending up with some decent alliances anyways
It's a marriage with the King's sister instead of his daughter. You just have to re-negotiate the alliance 😁
That honestly completely slipped my mind as a possibility.
Can't wait for the next episode!!! Do any of your sons look like they might go to the church? It could be a way to lessen the partition when it comes. 😇
Yeah I was thinking about that. Problem is that they all have a huge amount of reluctance due to being rightful heirs to titles already from the partition.
@@shanagbaimuru3926 fabricate a hook and make them? 🤭🤗😋
Great episode!!! You might want to save up to host a hunt or a feast soon. 😁
You know you can use more than one filter at a time when looking for a wife. Like adding inheritable traits and not-lowborn. Or alliance power and only five years age difference. 😋 Still good episode 🤩
Yeah, realized that like right afterwards. Thanks though.
Liking the series so far, will watch the next one 😁
