@@DisasterEXE @DisasterEXE Hi, thanks for watching! Great point. I do like to have my away team float in space areas to be safe from crawlers. I find that the crawlers tend to hide though if they can't find a valid path to a crew member, so I usually send one crew onto the deck as bait and have the others float in space within sight. In this case I was being a bit too impatient, and the layout of the entry hall was compact so I didn't have a good safe path to a space area that I could shoot from without waiting for a long time.

I'm not sure but I think the thing you're referring to is the alien crawler corpse we brought onboard from the derelict after we killed it while exploring. I determined eventually that the corpses were spawning parasites, but the corpse itself is not the parasite. It's just one of the aliens we shot and killed. After the parasite finishes infecting the person the parasite falls off and dies, just like the facehuggers in the Alien movies. The dead parasite also has a corpse which I moved to the airlock after the fact. Hope this makes sense. I didn't notice anything at the airlock to indicate a live parasite was there, but it's hard to see clearly on my mobile display

I use Streamlabs OBS with Voicemod. My mic is just a regular analog headset with some filtering settings in OBS to make it sound less awful. I have a side-chain ducking set up in OBS to dampen the PC volume when I'm talking. I use GhostChat by Enubia to see chat during games. I use a Stream Deck that I got secondhand for free and have buttons to start/end the stream, start/end recording, launch games and a few other things.

This is a newer version of the game, Alpha 18 unstable version. If you don't mind having an unstable game version with more bugs and unbalanced new features, you can enable it in your game properties on Steam, in the beta versions tab. By default you would be playing Alpha 17, which doesn't have the color coding

I find that in the very early game it's sometimes worth the risk of damage to the ship to bring your entire crew on away missions. The first few away missions against robots can be quite deadly so the extra body makes a huge impact. You can mitigate the repair risk somewhat by closing all of your vents, and you can vent the ship via airlock if there's a fire while you're not onboard. Risky but better than losing a crew member

Obviously, because he likes building stuff.. I guess. For me it's more that just 'adding' would mean I have to plan ahead, that sounds boring.

In the early game, remodeling is helpful to optimize space usage and conserve energy (the more hull you have, the more energy it takes to heat your ship). Remodeling can also be necessary to reduce the size of your rooms for damage control. Later in the game I also do a lot of remodeling for aesthetic reasons, e.g. to make it symmetrical. At one point in the current playthrough I also remodeled the central part of the ship to make it easier to defend the airlock against boarders and mitigate collateral damage from stray gunfire... as well as making room for a second airlock. Having the airlocks close to the center is good for logistics pathing (unless you are assigning different resources to different airlocks)

By random hull parts I think you are talking about the railing shapes on the outside of the ship? These are meant to deflect asteroid impacts. I think they do help somewhat. Using a hull building service can be worth it or not, depending on your circumstances. In one case, it saved my playthrough after I ran out of hull blocks or lost my builder pod (I forget which) and had a hole in my hull. In general, it's worth it if you have the money, need to build a large amount of hull, and have limited crew resources to do so (or if you have a ton of resources and you just want to get it done quickly). If you have few builder pods, your crew can take a long time to build hull. The question is really: which is more expensive, spending money, or spending time (and energy crystals, food, etc)? It depends. Using a builder service is also helpful if you're unable to get more hull blocks for whatever reason.

That can be a viable tactic. In this case, I just started the stream and I didn't know what the pirates had. If their ships have guns they can do some damage, and I don't have a way to fight back. I was also in the middle of trying to build a hull expansion and didn't want to be interrupted more than necessary.

The hamster corpses are useful for research. The others can be used for research or composted to get some water and small amounts of other materials. Since they don't take any storage space, it makes a lot of sense to hang onto them for efficiency's sake, even though it looks ugly.

@@zelphernide5758 Actually I would say DS9 is probably tied with B5... followed by NG. After that maybe Discovery, Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks, Enterprise, original, Voyager. (Haven't watched Picard so I can't rate it)
