I do remember watching the Anthology when it was shown on TV. I was 10 and already a Beatles fan ever since I was a baby if I can remember. I remember getting very emotional when Free as a Bird came on. When I got the video set, I do remember watching the whole series altogether at least a couple times. It has been a long time since I've seen it as there have been other Beatles documentaries that came out since the anthology. I have heard a rumor that we'll probably be getting a bluray reissue next year or so 🤞🤞. There's also a Director's Cut version which is also fascinating since it has lots of unused interviews in there (I highly recommend it).

I feel like this movie was a combination of thor Ragnarok and multiverse of madness

it wasn't as exciting as the original because it lacked the impressive set pieces of the original like the tanker truck exploding and the truck driving through the house and the jeep driving through the ditch as a tornado is destroying a building behind it. the original film also used a lot of practical effects like real debris and real ice thrown at the actors and two Boeing 707 jet engines to simulate wind, they also dropped real farm equipment from helicopters on the roads during the F5 sequence. the whole movie was a thrilling chase where you felt like you were along for the ride. and it had great music with really good orchestral music to set the mood of every scene. the cinematography in the film is incredible, the new movie lacked that energy. and that's why i think it failed to live up to the original.

It had characters with genuine chemistry, which is better than basically most disaster movies. Yes even the ones you enjoy.

You're attributing far too many intentions to Lucas than any reasonable reviewer would legitimately do . Your analysis is far too emotional to be taken seriously at all. Trust those who were there when it all began instead of wasting all that energy on fruitless, futile speculations. You should try to watch and read as many reviews by critics and insiders who were around and discovering the original trilogy when it was made and released. You expect too much from your own gut feelings. But you have potential and passion. You can do better, far better. P.S. I was 22 in 1977. It was great, it was big, it was a major phenomenon. Did i mention it was and still is great?

Besides Attack of the Clones, it has the worst pacing of all the movies. There are a few times where the whole film just comes crashing to a halt in terms of pacing.

I was 12 when "Star Wars" (just Star Wars, there was no "A new hope") was released. It was a free standing movie with no 'lore". It should be watched and reviewed in that context. BTW I wasn't interested in the sequels when they came out because I wasn't 12.

Excellent account of my favourite Star Wars movie, and I’m old enough to have seen the OT first time around. This remains the only film in the franchise that has moved me to tears. No, It’s not perfect but it’s exciting, “gritty”, visually stunning and very moving. Great battle sequence. And the beach scene… the hug… just beautiful. Real people, no Force, no Jedi… high stakes, high risks, genuine sacrifices.

Rogue one is by far the best disney star wars film. I put it at about the level of ep3, a flawed movie but with great moments and ending

ooooooooooooooooooooo kay............ im commenting before i watch this vid. so i hope the title is just plain clickbait. watch this movie about 4 more times then get back to me on a review. untill act 3 this is one of the dumbest movies i have ever watched. i have 2 examples that prove my point. First. Jynn erso getting rescued from the imperial internment camp. not only is she being rescued by rebel operatives that didnt bother to wear disguises in a MAXIMUM security facility, what is the first thing that erso do when being rescued??? bangs her rescuer over the head with a shovel and bolts for the door. WTF next. the rebel breifing. if you sit down and actually pay attention to the dialog. no one in that rebel meeting talks to each other. you have erso trying to convince this group to go get the deathstar plans, one guy in 5 minutes time goes from not believing the deathstar exists to sayhing "the rebelion is finished", then someone randomly says "what about the pilot". and through out this whole meeting of trying to even believe there is a deathstar, they dont even bother to pull in the other 5 people just chilling in the hanger for their account of what happen on jedda. there is more issues. best line in the movie? "Booty." one of sau guerara's lines your dismissal of the depth of the characters in this movie is also an issue. without character depth of some sort there is no investment. especially when donny yen, the blind guy basicly said his character wasnt interesting enough so he wanted the character to be blind. the actor thought his character was boring. if the actors are bored so are we. lol Ill direct you to this review... ua-cam.com/video/GCSvj92qI2Y/v-deo.html the guys voice is grating but you will see all the flaws of the film.

I love this movie. I'm amazed that more people don't get and appreciate "1941." It's not a sergeant watching "Dumbo," in the movie, it's the general.

Are you simple? The first 3 were gash. 73 yards was great, other than being let down by the final ep. Dot and Bubble was memorably awful. Rogue was dreadful and while The Legend Of Ruby had promise and some themes, it was shat upon in the season finale. It's a series of good ideas inside of a heap of shit.

The clockwork episode is Girl in the Fireplace. (yes, I'm aware I'm leaving lots of comments, but it helps you with the algorithm)

Oh, I don't mean to be so negative, but the episodes have rarely been an hour long. From Eccleston onwards, it was usually 45/50 minutes.

Flux was 6 episodes btw.

I had a good time with this one. Not near the adrenaline rush of Fury Road but Alyla Browne and Anya Taylor Joy did great as Furiosa but Chris Hemsworth was the show stealer for me! I did feel some pacing issues but overall it was an enjoyable return to the wasteland. Great review!

I avoided this film because of the poor reviews. Watched it this weekend and I’m not mad at it. I thought I needed the full run down, good bad and ugly. However I think what they produced, although ‘watered down’ was insightful enough to Amy and her struggles. I don’t think she’d ever be impressed with a movie about her life. But this wasn’t salacious or disrespectful. And I actually preferred that she sung in her own voice because it made me believe in her as Amy rather than distracted with the contrast in Marisa’s speaking tone and Amy’s tone.

Loved bohemian rhapsody and was excited for that because I was a major queen fan all the others I wasnt too excited about because I liked the other artists but didnt love them and like you said none of them did anything different. then back to black was announced and Iknew i had to go see it Amy is my favourite singer songwriter of all time but I knew i was gonna be apprehensive about it because it was either gonna go full in on her and she wouldve been disrespected or it was gonna be the opposite and was gonna be too vague and tip toe around important subjects. It turned out to be the latter It was too vague and too polite. It missed out important moments in her life, it missed out a lot of other important people in her life it romanticised blake too much, it was too respectful to mitch (who lets me honest doesnt paint himself in a great picture from interviews he has done) and to me it kind of painted Amy in a bad light that she was this helpless drug addict who refused to be helped which wasnt true amy got the help in the end and was on the recovery but she had one bad relapse which was unfortunately enough. They didnt capture her humour and wit enough if you look up interviews or tv apperances with her she was genuinely funny AF and yeah it didnt capture enough of her creating her songs and her craft. It was enjoyable but it just wasnt genuine enough and it felt like an attempt to cash in on her life story and she would've hated it as well
