Eric Lowen - Survival, Success and the End of the Road.mov
Eric Lowen was born on October 23, 1951 and died of complications from ALS after an 8-year battle with the disease on March 23, 2012. He was 60 years old. He was half of the duo of Lowen and Navarro, which began back in the 1980s and lasted until 2009 when Eric was no longer able to tour and perform. I had the great privilege of working with Eric just a year after he was diagnosed on a double DVD set of L&N music that features tons of photos, music concerts, music videos and interviews.
This video is taken from that project. He had written the article for Songwriter magazine and I felt it would make a wonderful multimedia piece if combined with his own voice and lots of photos from his 20 plus year career.
Eric was a tremendous inspiration and will be missed by all who knew him, his music and his constant smile!

She sang this on Paul Scwartz’s Album “State Of Grace II, Turning go Peace”. Her voice is magnificent and the lyrics of this song, so thought provoking. “Make me your faith, that I’ll believe”.

I was part of the team that cared for Eric thru the end of his life. Erics wisdom, and gentle spirit touched me in a way that will last a lifetime....He was no longer able to play his guitar when I met him, and he had just completed their last cd....he gave me a copy....and I fell in love with his magical music.........We shared some great talks together....we talked about here and now, and what was coming....I remember helping to prepare him for the last cruise he went on....he was so excited to go....but also so scared. When simply breathing is difficult....life would be pretty scarey....he ask me what will happen if I can not breathe....I reminded him that he would be with many people that loved him and everyone will be looking out for him....he went on the cruise, and had a great time....no breathing problems!! Besides his family....Eric cared so deeply for Dan.....I hope..( & he probably does) Dan knows how much he completed Erics life............................I miss him....Im sorry he had to go.....but as I told Eric....Heaven is a wonderful place..................

My best ever friend and soul mate died around the same time from the same horrible disease. Please help find a cure. I saw them in Phoenix in the 90's .

A friend of ours was dating the drummer for Lowen and Navarro and one time after a concert she told Eric about me and called me on the phone and I got to talk with him for 15 minutes before his next concert! The best day ever!

Wow. I just cleaned out my Attic & found a lone floating Lowen & Navaro Disc at the bottom of a box. I was so fired up to play it, as I had lost it years ago. I only had the CD for a month or so, and I couldn't even remember the name of the band. Bummed that the CD was cracked. But I finally had the name to plug into youtube. How incredibly sad to first see the video "Lowen Navarro's Last performance", and to read that story....then to find that he just passed. God Bless you Eric ! Thank you !

We are to be believed, Eric Lowen. Your courage, talent, charisma, compassion, kindness and humor brought love, joy and magic into the lives of so many. Your legacy of music and love will live on through us all for generations to come. I was privileged to have known you. I miss going to see you at shows, but that is overcome by the gratitude I have that there are people in this world like you that are brave enough to have lived life as you did. Love to you wherever you are and, ROCK ON!
I am shattered and broken, ALS leaves destruction in its path, all one can do is pick up the pieces and try and put them back together, we need a cure for ALS, thank you for your kind words.
I'm so sorry to see that you lost your husband to ALS. I can't even imagine how difficult it has been for you and how heartbroken you must feel. I was so inspired to see how Eric handled his illness and learned so much from his example. Hugs to you in this difficult time.
Sobbing, grief for me is overwhelming, my husband Don and Eric both had ALS and died within days of each other March 2012, they are both soaring like eagles, R.I.P. Don & Eric.

The people at AIX really did a good job at capturing these awesome songwriters. I am haunted by the melody and arrangements. Their songs have cut a deep trench in my soul. Thanks to AIX Records, they sent me the DVD .....
I am very glad I was able to see him perform in concert...became a fan when they opened at a concert I attended, then learned he and Mr. Navarro had penned one of my favorite songs. Rest in Peace.."We are all on a journey, you just have a better map...."
