This channel is focused on EMS and Medical Education. I am a Critical Care Paramedic.
My wife and I started this channel when I began my master's in Medical Education, as I am passionate about learning and sharing what I have learned with others. Being able to take something complex and explain it in a simple and clear manner is what I really enjoy.
We try post every week on medical topics, sometimes basic, sometimes advanced. Hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your support.

How do I get the valve
What valve?
I wished the FDA didn’t blacklist it.
Is it intervenus
Svt
Absolutely, how do we tell if it's an svt?
Great information, just came from an ACLS class and it was rather challenging then. I now understand it better 🇰🇪
I can see an ECG trace but no observations are visible
Yes, apologies. It somehow cut the vitas off. I'll fix it.
They look like PVCS?
Could it be first degree av block with pvc
It's a 3rd degree av block
The p waves aren't marching out in equal spacing. @allthingsparamedic
Assess GCS, Check if not pulseless VT, if not, high flow O2, IV access, can’t see systolic reading but if <90 treat fluids, full bloods, check for Sepsis given the high temp.
Great, Pt does have a pulse. Did you consider cocaine OD?
@@allthingsparamedic To be honest, no, but history take would be vitally important. Nice one to think about. 👍🏼
Check for a pulse, just for to the pt being unstable and could lose his pulse at any time. With no pulse start CPR, get defibrillator defib, run through acls, with pulse synchronized cardiovert, amiodarone, and of course RSI, get ready for this pt to code,
02, IV, fluid challenge, push dose pressor, 12 lead, to confirm the second degree type 1 be careful with atropine, pacing, be careful with pain meds with pacing, wouldn't use🎉 ketamine due to complications with cardiac, and if the pt can't maintain an airway, intubation and half doses of the rsi meds, and keep the pt comfortable
Nice, likely avoid the rsi. Pacing/inotropes should do the trick.
Vtach, stable amio, unstable shock
Unab,e to get premium version .. could you send yhe link pls .? Or share the app
Ugh. I got this like over 15 years ago and now I got it again. Freaking tuna. Palpitation, increased heart rate, flushed skin, throbbing on my head and tight feeling in my chesf again. I hope the antihistamine works soon. (I have similar reactions when I intake alcohol that's why I stay away from alcohol. I just can't believe I'd feel this again because of what I ate today.)
Thanks for letting us know. Feeling better?
Well explained .Thank you
For ABI, do you divide (S/D / S/D), or S/S to calculate index? Ie BP in leg / BP in arm, or just systolic in leg / systolic in arm
Good question: just systolic in leg / systolic in arm
Eco2 is closest to the airway is this not equipment specific as Zoll takes samples into the machine hence the use of BEFT bag eco2 filter tube ?
Yes, however different places will have different policies.
mate this is so helpful! Thankyou
Great to hear.
I can't find any help i was in shock in 2017
Thank you mate
Exciting. It must be tried. It is not something I dare to pass on to my colleagues until I have tried it myself. I also have to translate what you say correctly so I don't misunderstand it. but it looks interesting. ☺
How about a brisk walk haha nope....or to assess the scene but there's cops on the scene already. My experiences. Walk around like that on a construction site, (where there is also hazards) and get your ass yelled at and a new nickname 😅
What brand is the bag?
looks like an Openhouse one
Hi, how do I change the amplitude of the ecg leads
Is it like ketamine
Very different
Hi, I cannot hear sound from my apps, is there any other option to get this sound?
Not sure , ensure the volume is on and up on the device
turn off silent mode
That was helpful, and for an OSCE, it would ensure uniformity. So, I'm guessing the AI could base your simulation as a baseline and allow for independent assessment of students; I would love to explore simulation technology further, and I believe that simulation done well leads to excellence in real life. Also, that was a realistic time scale. Can I ask how you simulated the monitor? Was that an app? With the advent of AI combined with high-fidelity training manikins, we could have excellent ongoing training for the paramedic industry. I would love to discuss your thoughts on this, and it's also lovely to see the positive utilisation of AI
Thanks for the comment. I am using an I Simulator I agree, the uses of ai are endless in this context.
Woop woop looking good broooo.... all those ACLS instructor skills coming handy. Keep on swimming...love it.
A Nice follow up would be post RSI sedation management, If you havent made a vid on it already. great lesson otherwise!
Nicely done brother!!!
It's really workings
When my hands was broken doctors gives me this . I need to buy but I don't have money. My hands was broken by epilepsy
Thank you
Thank you
Brilliant advice. Thank you 😊
Nicely done video , thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Good job. It all looks so nice and peaceful on the anatomical drawings, doesn't it?
Haha, agreed
Thank you.
How about ETCO2 in cardiac arrest related to PE?
Cardiac arrest from Massivr PE results in an extremely low etCO2 during CPR.
Midazolam is AWESOME. I was told i would be concious, I forget why, but i wont care, and likely wont remember. Let me tell you... I didnt care. i became a little concious and bit worried inbetween procedures... They said dont worry, we dose ya again... I felt it hit and they started the procedure... Cool... Ooh.. knife .. they are.... I came to rolling down the hallway. Neat stuff.
Great lil refresher, thanks James
Glad you enjoyed it. Going to do a maternity series soon.
I've been a EMT for 18 years I've used them a fair amount of times they work well for seizure patients and some opioid overdose victims increase ventilation capacity
Or you get it from antibiotics or other medicins which attack the good bacteria and your microbiome is f-cked up!
Suffer from severe multiple chronic migraines, cluster headaches parasymal hemicrania, occipital, ice pick attacking in cycles of 3-5mths each type on a daily basis diagnosed by neurologists no preventative works except 0:52 created additional migraines so pain medication has been qble to halt the pain. Sadly there are ER doctorr refuse to treat migraine patients.
Can you tell me how I can set the heart rate to 0 without premium?
Hi, Unfortunately I'm not sure
@@allthingsparamedic asystole does stop the rate but I don’t see the NUMBER 0. The lowest I’ve got was 28
Yup, I've found it to be quite frustrating
Great video
Its a wonder drug adults feeling anxious should be able to get some weekly at a hospital or a take home its cheaps to make than valium and its the best fast action panic attack medication ive ever had its criminal to not make this medication unavailable to adults in need. Another reason people dont like America and the fda
Midazolam will obviously work for anxiety, think seizures are more what it's for because duration action.
Thanks for explaining the answers. It really helps.
I always take some K on my dates.
Dont worry i gagged for the covid swab shit lol
Pretty sure this happened to my husband and I last night. I made homemade seafood chowder - got fish scraps for the fish stock, cod, scallops, canned clams, and canned smoked clams. Nothing smelled off and it tasted fine. I read about the “peppery” taste, well, I had pepper in the soup so it was missed. We each had a bowl for dinner, I went to bed, he went to his 3rd shift job. At 2am or so, I woke up with a hot flash and sweating. I thought it was just a lady problem, but I had a bit of nausea and felt like I was drinking a lot (which I didn’t). I just sipped some water, laid on my left side, and waited. I debated if I should force myself to throw up but decided to wait. It eventually went away and I went back to sleep. After my husband got home in the morning, he brought up the same symptoms around the same time. He was almost about to call the ambulance but it eventually lifted when he took a break. Our only conclusion was the chowder. Fortunately, our 4 year old was picky and didn’t touch it. Feel alright now. I just feel like my body is trying to get over something. But I have never had that happen before and I’m a big seafood lover.
In my Country we get Dormicum for sleep but i prefer Rohypnol
