Had a stage 1 clear cell renal carcinoma in a kidney cyst last year. Had to have the whole kidney removed. Margins negative. Now I have a septated 2.7 cm cyst on my liver and a 3 mm nodule in my lung. Seeing my primary tomorrow. Knowing that the lungs and liver are the number one spots where kidney cancer spreads has me extremely worried.

I had a PAE two days ago. My perspective; The most painful part - and it's really not - is the needle in the arm to provide any meds that might be needed. I found that the most difficult part was having to lie motionless for a couple hours. I got an itchy nose, an itchy eye, etc. Nurse had to keep scratching them for me! Also my penis got in an awkward position that I so badly wanted to fix and couldn't and certainly wasn't going to ask the nurse for help with that. The procedure itself is nothing. The second biggest issue I had was having to lie still for another two hours after the procedure to make sure nothing got knocked out of position I guess. The worst part was that I got serious rectal pain that night. Fortunately I had on hand some opioids that helped with that. By morning, I was no longer in pain. Only other thing was mild discomfort in my abdomen.

My doctor said my mostly solid nodule doesn’t present as cancer for 4 years, and was going to release me. He left and suggested I follow up with his replacement. Six specialists couldn’t agree on size. Suddenly, it’s called suspicious by radiologists. But the last scan showed size had decreased. Pet scan did not light up. Robotic bronchoscopy was nondiagnostic, but showed benign cells. Lung wash had no malignancy. Two tiny nodules were stable, but last report also showed scattered calcified granulomas. New doc wanted to do lung surgery “just in case” with no proof of malignancy. Just guesswork that it could be adenocarcinoma. I declined. I’ve had brain surgery for acoustic neuroma, GI sepsis, and am frail and disabled with many health challenges, age 69. I never went back to the new doctor. My pcp supports my decision. Surgeon who did bronchoscopy described my nodule as “teeny tiny.” It started out as 8-9 mm, then 11mm, 13 mm, 14mm, and back to 11 mm. One of the images from my pulmonologist showed a smaller image than last year. Others looked the same. All images had a halo. No symptoms. I’ve lost faith in the medical community. I went through stressful hell, with no answers. Any thoughts?

If there are nodules in the lungs and you do a Bronchial biopsy, and you find there is cancer, do you do the surgery right then during the biopsy procedure, or does there have to be another appointment and separate surgery?

I went to get an xray for my chest and my lungs came out with multiple nodule on both lungs some overlapped and huge I've almost got my whole lungs filled with them. I've gotten a cough that's been around a month and 3 weeks now and it's gotten worse fevers more often and hard to breath sometimes and sometimes heart pain. I'm going to the doctor today to show her the xray but most like I'll get sent to specialist. Anyone know what it is I want to get this over with and get rid of it and I dont want surgery "because " I live in mexico and people usually die through the process of surgery or after the surgery.

Omg...what an awesome video! I love the straightforwardness and realness. I am 46 and in 2022 they found a 6mm lung nodule and in 2023 I had a followup scan and it went from 6mm to 5mm. Now, doctor should I repeat the scan this year (2024) just to check it out one more time? I'm never a smoker, never a drinking, never did illegal drugs or anything like that. Cancer does not run in my family either. The Pulmonologist told me no need to retest and that I can go live my best life but if I felt uneasy I can retest. Regardles of what the specialist said, I need to make sure I make the best decision for me. Is it recommended to scan one more time to make sure? Blessings~

My mom at 90 called me and said she loved me and she was dying. My brother took her to ER , she had metastatic lung cancer- non smoker. Got her home, signed up for hospice, 9 days later she passed. We think she had symptoms longer but was hiding it from us. I had been there for visit 3 weeks prior, she made dinner 2x, we went out to eat many times. We shopped one day. We could not tell. She was a nurse and would never have opted for treatment anyway. Glad she passed quickly, way she wanted.

I've had urinary problems associated with bph for over 30 years, and I'm only 46. I had an ultrasound done and prostate volume was 33.4 cm. I know there are other factors to look at, but would you consider this too small to have this procedure done? I'm also looking into aquablation; I would prefer PAE, but also don't want to waste time if most Drs would consider this too small. The Dr who ordered US has not responded to my email Thank you for any insight you could provide Improvement of these issues would change my life Really want something non-invasive; I don't want them cutting on me

As a research scientist, a) Where your nodule is located is NOT (Might) not be of a concern for cancer. Their usually in the top of the lungs. Is the nodule spiculated? looks like a splat of paint? Ther are so many variables and what will happen is they will look to see if it grows and go from there.

In my opinion, most doctors exaggerate the severity of the progression, diagnosis whatever procedure they are publishing is the one they recommend. had dime sized mole removed, no history of cancer in my family, and right away, need CT, then MRI, then PET (which I refused because, rest assured, doctor will immediately see tumors i n brain) I have started immunotherapy, first treatment went ok, but the second I have side effects, I am ceasing treatment.
