RV trailer furnace fan with PWM soft start mod

I added a PWM DC speed controller with soft start to my NT-SEQ-16 furnace. It completely eliminates the loud start up fan noise and allows you to turn down the speed just enough to shave off a few decibels. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001426548155.html 360W DC 12V 18V 24V 48V 30A PWM DC Motor Speed Controller High Power Regulator Soft Start Switch Current Limiting Protection
LG Dishwasher Circulation Pump Noise FIX DIY Bearing replacement
Переглядів 12 тис.Рік тому
*Update - My replacement bearing only lasted 4 months. It appears the seal is faulty and letting water pass through. I'm not sure if the shaft is scored and worn or if its the seal itself. I would recommend getting a new seal if you are going to attempt this repair as that is what likely caused the bearing to fail in the first place. Search for 12676000000931, DD62-00053A or 8x26x8/11 OIL SEAL....

The only part that got saved. From Revelstoke to the ferry.
After watching this video a few times i decided to tackle my noisy LG dishwasher. I did get the seal (4036DD4002A LG Dishwasher Seal Replacement Part) which caused all this mess and the bearing was was really rusted because the seal failed. I would highly recommend getting a bearing puller though to make the job easier for sure. The bearings i replaced them with were 608-2RS silicone ceramic bearings as there is almost no load on these and really there to just spin so being these are ceramic they will not rust in the event that the seal did fail again. The bolts i used were M5x20 with lock nuts to ensure they will not come out over time. Without this video i wouldn't even have attempted this but for under 20 bucks it's worth the effort for sure. Parts list: 1. 608-2RS silicone ceramic bearings 2. 4036DD4002A LG Dishwasher Seal Replacement Part 3. Four M5x20 with lock nuts 4. *Optional Bearing/Gear puller
Thanks for commenting with the part numbers you used and glad the video helped with the repair.
Why didn't you replace the lip seal that causes the leak into the bearings to begin with? You're just buying a couple of months without buying that lip seal
Hindsight is 20/20. I I had a hard time finding the seal and needed the dishwasher back together.
@johnnypicnic yeah I can imagine. These manufacturers don't make it easy to find parts without remind numbing searching or knowing someone in the trade. 4036dd4002a is said to fit in the description. Do you still have your dishwasher? Are you still replacing bearings or have you replaced the whole pump
Thank you for this
Great Video!!! Got the parts ahead of time and took me 1.5 hrs from start to finish. Problem solved for a total of $25. Even have enough bearings to fix it again in 3 years, just have to get another seal.
That's awesome. I hope get many years out of your repair.
Is the part number of the seal DD62-00053A that you stated the correct one? It shows it being a Samsung dishwasher I would however think they use some common parts
I haven't purchased that seal but it's listed as the same size/dimensions as the LG part. electrofiablecanada.ca/motor/8x26x8-11-dishwasher-motor-seal-dd62-00053a/
Can I just buy the entire part that holds the bearings? If so, is it just the circulation pump? I have a 10 year old LDS5540ST.
Hi sorry late reply. They only sell the complete heater and motor assembly.
It's ridiculous that the seal on these pumps is so bad. I have the same problem, and I pulled out the pump and saw the seal and immediately knew that the bearing was probably soaked in water. To me that's just insane. I'm sure adding some kind of plumber grease or some other type of sealant would probably buy another 10 years if done properly.
Do you have the bearing part number available?
Amazon PGN - 608-2RS Sealed Ball Bearing - 8x22x7 or similar
This would make good ASMR.
But I have a question. On the door it says “10 year warranty for Direct Driver Motor”. Doesn’t that imply that circulation pump? Why should we not claim that warranty instead of repairing it by ourselves?
Because labour is NOT covered by the warranty, ONLY the motor. And an LG tech has to come out and diagnose it and order the new motor, and then disassemble/reassemble the pump to put the new motor in. So for what you would pay in labour, you can order the whole assembly and do it yourself (~$200US)
Thank you this helped me.
I'm wondering if some waterproof plumbers grease on the top shaft might get you a few more years? And perhaps when replacing the bearings give the shaft a little freezer time so the bearings might go on easier?
Good video. The bearing near the seal was all rusted. Changed it and put a LOT of food grade silicone grease. I did not find any seal unfortunately; those were all backorder at every replacement part supplier. If someone finds a seal that isn't backorder and available for shipping to Canada, let me know!
Try searching Amazon for 4036DD4002A
Update: water entered the motor because of the faulty seal 5 months after the fix. Short circuited and almost caught fire. Do not try this fix if you are not replacing the faulty seal.
My LG dishwasher just started making the same noise. I’m thinking since your bearing replacement only lasted 4 months that I’ll replace the entire circulation pump. It’s a shame new appliances don’t last.
Agreed. It's too bad they don't sell the individual components for this assembly.
I am 58 seconds into this, and I know this is the tutorial I was looking for. Didn't say a word, just gave us a shot of what we are looking at and started pulling it apart. thank you!
Good luck to ya. I would highly recommend getting a new seal while you are in there.
Great video. What type of lubrication did you use there putting it back together?
I just used some vasoline as that's all I had on hand. There's probably some food grade grease out there that would work better.
Just beware. Anyone attempting this fix: The threads on the impeller screw are reversed.
I used the term "left hand" thread but maybe reverse thread is more universally understood.
Never would have guessed the noise coming from mine was a bearing. Thanks for the video and the part number for the bearing! Great video!
Good luck with the fix. Let me know how it goes.
