Daemon would NEVER have murdered his brother and usurped his crown. He raised an army and was ready to fight for Viserys’ claim during the Great Council

I first disagreed with Daemon about Viserys being a weak king but that part where everyone in the council is talking out of turn and disrespectful to Viserys, a KING, and disrespecting the King’s brother is INSANE, especially when you compare it to how the council talks to King Robert and Tywin. They would NEVA! It’s like night and day when you compare them to Viserys. He’s a great father but Daemon was right.

Such a sweet sweet guy who only wants to enjoy a loving family, yet he is besseched by snakes. The fact alone that he went to Rhaenyra and eseentially asked for HER BLESSING, before remarrying says so much about him! Not a great king, but a great person

I really appreciate how in HotD, Viserys biggest strength is indicative of his biggest weakness. He's remembered for preventing war from breaking out but only so far as he was alive, he didn't want to deal with the animosity that was growing between his two families and didn't take any preventative actions that would prevent a war despite the fact that the warning signs were plain to see to everyone except him. He could've had Aegon or Aemond sent to Dragonstone to be fostered under Rhaenyra or placed Rhaenyra as his Hand but the most likely reason he didn't make any effort was because he didn't want to acknowledge there was ever any issue and having Rhaenyra and her sons in court would cause more arguments that he didn't want to hear. He doesn't try and limit the role the Hightowers have because Otto is much more suited to deal with the tedium of court than he is despite knowing that they're more than likely going to attempt to disinherit his daughter and ignore his will once he's dead.

If tabacco was a thing in the AOSIAF universe king viserys would be a chain smoker by now...

I really liked Viserys.. he was very kind hearted and just wanted his family to be peaceful, but in the game of thrones... you either win or die :( he was too gentle for his own good and too passive to be a king.
