There’s own websites for hackers to get alt accounts, the website basically charges you 1-2$ for having an account for a week, and because you’ll most likely get banned in a week it’s a win win. One person gets 1-2$ for an account he doesn’t use and that’ll he’ll get back anyways while the hacker gets an account.

Crazy that people arent getting banned for that while I join hypixel once with some performance mods (like sodium, lithium, etc) by accident (because I rarely play on a vanilla client) and I'm instabanned for that.

I am very late to this video, but since it’s still kicking in 2024, and I’m only learning this was implemented now, this system sounds very, very stupid. In one corner, if there’s a system that can read, save, and replay player data, then it’s a smart enough piece of software to handle cheat detection of clearly impossible or automated actions. Speedrunners already regularly have input displays to prevent cheating, and a program can do an even faster job of finding weirdly clean data. Even command blocks can understand head positions for crying out loud. All that offloading it onto internet randos does is immediately drop whatever success rate Atlas would have to the level of an eyewitness, or about 70% accuracy. But, in Hypixel’s defense, maybe that’s not the point. Yes, the system is horribly inefficient for one person to do. Yes, it would be potentially inaccurate to rely on one eyewitness testimony. Yes, this is hella overengineered to make unpaid labor offloaded onto end users fun, BUT, if there are enough users of Atlas filing reports, which Hypixel has in excess, this is probably the best way they could handle distributed computing. A computer is only as fast as its hardware allows, but the more you have solving the problem, even inefficiently, you’ll eventually hit a point where it outscales whatever bank of servers handles the Hypixel cheat detector. Ten million monkeys can probably type the complete works of Shakespeare faster than you can.
