Celebrity Edge Alaska 7 Night Cruise
In late June of 2024 my parents took our family on an Awesome Celebrity Cruise through the inner passage of the Alaskan Peninsula.
On Friday, June 21st we flew out of Atlanta at 10 AM to arrive in Seattle at 12:27 PM. We crossed three time zones, and the excitement was epic as this is my first time to the Northwest United States and the first time to Seattle.
We sailed out on Celebrity Edge for their 7 Night Alaska Dawes Glacier Tour at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 21st for 2 sea days, a stop at the Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, Alaska and a stop in Victoria Canada.
In this video I will cover the ship and take how we spent each day on the cruise with the planned and unplanned excursions we took in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, Alaska and a brief bus ride in Victoria Canada.
This video is a little long as it highlighted the whole cruise. The video starts out with a 5:30 AM tour of the main ship locations and then continues into the events and locations throughout the trip.
The video is chaptered so feel free to skip to the areas of interest.
I have already uploaded a video from the White Pass & Yukon train ride from Skagway, Alaska and look for future videos from Juneau, Ketchikan and the Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier and a video with the equipment that I used.

The food was great in Blu and fine in the regular restaurants Tuscany, etc. You won’t be disappointed, we did not eat in any restaurants that were not part of our package. I am a desert person and was disappointed in the desserts as they were dry for my taste, but that is a personal thing. The buffet was ok.
I’m planning my Alaska cruise now. Great footage! May I ask what you thought of the food and service on that ship? It’s what I want to take but I’ve heard iffy things about the food. TY

Trying to decide between tubing Helen and Ellijay. Is Helen as boring as it looks? It looks like a lot of drag-ass and slow water. Is there anything worth seeing? Any shoals or faster water? Is it too crowded? Not interested in getting tied up in traffic jams. The Cartecay at Ellijay has some cool rapids and fast water but Helen more interesting things to do.
There are a couple of rapid areas, but most of it is relaxing and when I went the water level was low (according to other tubers). I will have to try the Cartecay at Ellijay thanks for the heads up. Thanks for watching.

How fast could you go?
If I recall they wanted us not to go over 40 MPH at the rental place, however highway speeds could be achieved. We drove this with no issues on the Parkway.

We are thinking about renting a condo in this resort, but I am afraid about the amount of guests there. Do you think the place was too crowded? Did you guys like the experience there?
I have been to this same resort 3 or 4 times and yes during the season the entire area is crowded, just like any other resort town. I believe I have another video from a couple of years ago, but when I fly the drone, I fly it early in the morning to not disturb others.
I really enjoyed this time in September as the area was not as crowded, and also it was not as hot sitting in the sun all day. Others in the family did not like September as much though!

Hi there! I’m a new gardener. I bought my house about 7 months ago and now, I want to plant a vegetable garden. I bought two 6 in 1 birdies last year before they started selling the newer versions. I’m wondering if you noticed a problem with out bowing of your beds over time? The new birdies have metal rods that keep out bowing from happening, but I have the older version like yours.
No I have not had any issues with the bowing, but also we have harder soil. These have been in place for 2+ years and the only issue is every year I need to add more soil as it compacts, nutrients is used and the material in the (leaves, wood) rots in the bottom. No issues with the bed yet. I have 3 Birdies and one off brand.

How long do the batteries last? Mine will be put on my roof 30 ft in the air.
I cannot say as it has been up for over a year on the first set of batteries, but I would expect to replace them every 1-2 years; but that is just my guess.

Hi there, quick question, do you have to empty the bucket at all? If so how often?
You would every so often want to add kitchen scraps to the bucket to add more food for compost. When it is full of "dirt/compost" spread that and add more contents.
Before you start making a "how to" maybe you should do a prof of concept first.
The concept worked for my application, however here the greenhouse is used to extend the season and temps in Georgia rarely fall much below freezing in late fall and spring. This is one application, but will not work in all areas and all applications.

How long can you operate the 991a at full power with the Bluetti that you have? Thanks 73 KX8Z
Sorry I have not tested full duty. It worked for me with full sun on a summer day. There will be many properties which will affect performance and early in the day and late in the day the sun energy will not provide enough power. These Solar Generators are improving, but if interested, I would get a high wattage unit.
How much is the price
Currently on Amazon It sells for just shy of $200.00 the Antenna Mount I used to mount the Weather station to the Support Pole was about $25.00.

I'm gonna try this idea this winter. Can get into the 20's for a few weeks but 30's and 40's are typical most of the time. My greenhouse is on a concrete driveway and just one of those cheap Amazon ones. I'm thinking of having a portable electric heater with thermostat for backup. Just trying to keep heating costs down.
I have used this idea in conjunction with a seed warming Pad for seedlings early in the year, but there are many factors which would affect performance. Nothing will beat a full heater and insulation.

You’ve probably realized, but if you sign in on Wunderground to the email your station is associated with, it will remove the popups (website only, unless they changed that about the app I won’t touch that app with a 33’ anemometer pole lol). Just a benefit of having an active pws on WU, essentially gives you a free “paid account”
can you say something about the score on less sunny days (thanks for video).
There are many factors which limit the output wattage such as angel of the sun, time of day and cloudiness. I don't leave this panel out and have as a backup, but the solar panel on my storage shed ranges from 20 watts to 90 watts depending on the time of day as it is a fixed mount.
I had the 2902 2017 model and was the most accurate station I've had. Unfortunately, I had to sell it because I live in an apt now. Didn't work too well here.
Yes, I have been happy with it, because of the mounting location, the wind is not accurate as it is blocked by the house, but my limitation not the quality.

Yes, the Ambient Weather Station is a lot better and appears to be very accurate. The wind speed is off, but I did not mount in a recommended location, and it is blocked from the house.

I live in a desert. When I bought my house, the back yard was a clean and bare canvass. With desert concrete and a monsoonal water problem, it’s been slow going for an immense landscaping hobby. Thank you for sharing! I’ve been trying/struggling to figure out how to connect my retaining wall into my fire pit area and you gave me some great ideas. Much appreciated!
Wow... The retaining wall blocks I use are for use up to four feet, however I am located on the side of a ridge, in an area that is not prone to deep flooding.
