We Made This Giant WALL Of Speakers
Worries about the aerial - ignores the rust?
Eff structural integrity. We need music. (No but seriously it is really bad. I have replacement sills, just got to get them in)
If it was anything like Holden & the VR & VS V8 cop cars, Detectives would also get a base model with the V8, FE2, LSD etc- basically an SS in Executive clothes. Ford chaser cars would often have holes in the roof, sometimes the rain gutter cut to run the wires down, country cars sometimes got a bash plate from radiator support to just short of the gearbox. There is also a way to enter into digital speedo mode. My BA XT 6 was a Highway car, had a dual battery system, optioned rear power windows, PBR sports brakes, XR6 suspension & roof gutter cut; could also tell where the perspex screen/ cage thing was in the carpets due to indents, and a mysterious blood stain on the headliner (never could get that out)
Haven't found any extra holes anywhere, but there were some wires underneath the carpet that went to the lights controller under the passenger seat, some glue marks in the passenger footwell (probably used for equipment for quick access or radio), glue marks on the dash (either for radio or radar) and the headlights were wired into a relay (either kill switch or flasher). It also had a rear spoiler, firmer suspension and an ECU with different shift patterns, where it holds the transmission in 3rd until 65km/h. Speedo adjustment mode can be achieved by holding down the odometer button for 10 seconds with ignition on. Interior-wise, it got all the features you would've expected the base model to come with like grab handles, reading lights and a passenger airbag. It has an alloy tailshaft and 3.23 LSD. No bash plate tho, only from the bumper to the radiator. This part's pretty funny 🤣🤣 "a mysterious blood stain on the headliner (never could get that out)"
Here in Bendigo VIC a huge hail storm came through with Golf ball size hail and it hit all of our cars. Sadly my 95 EF was the only one with a cracked windscreen. My list keeps getting bigger
That sucks. It's happened a few times from memory and it's always worse if the cars are expensive or collectable.
@@skatshot3990yeah that’s true. Mine isn’t anything special. It’s a non taxi column shift automatic with a bench seat
Column shifts are pretty rare nowadays. Is yours a sedan or wagon? I've got a '96 EF which is pretty much brand new since it's only done 95k. I think pretty soon they'll be worth as much as the XD/XEs, which go for about 20-30 grand over here. In the past two years, I've only seen about 15 EFs for sale in WA because of the smaller population.
@@skatshot3990mine is a sedan. It’s done 439 thousand.
Nice. A column shift sedan is rare. I think I've only seen one EF but plenty of EAs for some reason. I bet that foot park brake is kinda annoying though.
I am looking forward to seeing your V8 EL Falcon fully restored Factory - like it came of the factory line in Victoria.
Cheers. Hopefully with the new sills and a polish it will look mint.
Loving your videos mate, keep them coming. Would have loved to see more on the police wiring you found.
@@jamesdennis2244 Thanks for the support! The wires went up into the B pillar and presumably down the drivers A pillar, where they may be terminated. I'll have to have a look under the dash for them. They'll have been used for lights and loudspeakers and whatnot.
Is this actually an option 20 EL? Apparently there were only 60 ever made.
Yep! Genuine cop car. I've got a pic of the compliance plate which I might show off in a video later today. Did you mean there were only 60 GLi V8s ever made, since I've seen heaps of XR8s for sale from time to time and plenty of 6 cylinder cars too.
@@skatshot3990 I do believe there were only 60 option 20 el falcons
Cool. It's a rare find then. Especially since it's a base model with a V8 in it. It doesn't have any holes on the inside or outside, which leads me to believe that it was an unmarked car, and the absence of a cage makes me think that it belonged to someone high ranking that never had anyone in the back.
@@skatshot3990 all of them were base models with the v8. They never had cages in the rear
Melbourne and Sydney used XR8s for their interceptors, I've also seen some 6 cylinder option 20s too. From my research, there were different types of accessories that could be fitted to each car like power windows, light bars, computers and evidence lockers etc. This one's a six and has heaps of accessories my one never had: ua-cam.com/video/rEwwqR4WOGU/v-deo.html and here's an XR8: ua-cam.com/video/maQFGaTzv5g/v-deo.html
Jared mate what the FUCK is that beard
5.0 Windsor use to run on 10W-30 Full Synthetic. Now Dayz 5W-40 or 10W-40 Full Synthetic should be ok. 15W-40 semi synthetic not sure about that, unless the customer gave you that oil.
Most of these fluids are what the manual specified, it seems to go alright with it in, but won't know for sure until it's been driving for some time. Different years and specifications of the Windsor engine could make a difference too.
this video has potential
Oh no not the Cash converters special
All that room in the speakers and they use the speakers from a watch.
Cute dogo
Thanks 👍
get a cheap android smart tv box and you got a good smart tv
I've honestly found so many of these, pretty sure if I ever need to upgrade, there's one sitting on the curb that works. Pity nobody wants to buy used TVs anymore.
it's so sad that people throw out working tvs

pretty sick to see this while im restoring my 88 fox across the world in the US
This is going to look great when finished. Make sure to keep it stock inside.
Cool to see a school kid working on a real a car I’d advise you put the cool old falcon away in a shed until you go do a trade in panel and paint or mechanical as there one of the best cars to modify and make a sick car out of they have a decent drive line and solid chassis ready for engineering in whatever you want to do with car aka Summernats or drift car or drag car as in time finding a decent e series falcon will be really hard do
Appreciate it man. I've been wanting an old Falcon for some time now. I think the E-series ones are still pretty cheap but I can see them going up in value really soon especially since most have ended up around power poles or at the speedway lol. The plan with this one is eventually to give it a full respray and some dark tint, maybe some better wheels too. I reckon it'd make a great sleeper, especially cause you don't expect the base model to have a huge thirsty V8 in it.
If cars could talk, i bet this one would have quite the story 🤣 keep it up good stuff man.
Thanks! I should do a video about the history of this car sometime. The general story is that it was bought in 1997 for the WA police and spent about a decade in the force with someone fairly high up since there aren't any holes around the car, so it wasn't a squad car or interceptor. It had done about 15,000 ks every 3 months so my guess was that it was visiting regional centres. In 2007, I believe it was handed into the wreckers where the guy I bought it off worked, and when it closed down in 2011, he took it with him, periodically doing it up every few years until I bought it. Either that, or someone bought it from a police auction in 2004ish and sent it to the wreckers in the late 2000s. Still a very cool car and I'm looking forward to getting it re-registered once the new sills go in.
Should get them police lights working
I might try to deck it out with some mods like that after she gets registered. For now, I'm just trying to get a roadworthy.
Ex Wa Police Opt 20 rare
Sure is!
Saw that for sale not long ago mate, beat me too it, awesome car though 💯
Oh were you the other buyer? It's a good car but has some rust on the sills which we'll hopefully fix up soon. 😂
@@skatshot3990sounds good mate👌 but nah I didn't enquire on the car was gonna though then it sold😭
pls kerosene
It's an OPT20 Police Pack hence the passenger airbag. Can tell by the speedo increments
Yeah, it's pretty neat. It also has the sports suspension, interior map lights, no speed limiter, various shielding to prevent interference with the radio, a wing and alloys. I wanted to get the verification letter from Ford but it's been discontinued.
@skatshot3990 I'm pretty familiar with the opt20 packs but I've never heard of the radio shielding. Could you explain what that is, I don't think I've seen it before. Thanks
@@jamesdennis2244 Reading up on the old Ford forums, I believe the diagnostics port and possibly the ECU were surrounded by a tin can to prevent interference with the police radio.
let me kmow when ya sell it haha
What's the cheapest falcon V8 worth?
2000 bucks
at leat blow the speakers first
It was too weak to do that.
@@skatshot3990 get a difernt amp
There is three units there that did not deserve this treatment and could of brought in a decent amount of profit.
As opposed to being crushed by the roadside collection truck and being sent to the tip? Almost all of these have been fixed up and sold by now.
@@skatshot3990 I see what you did there. Well do done....well done.

That camera makes the video look like a movie in like the mid 80’s
It was the only one I had at the time. It’s a Sony DCR-SR47 from 2009
