I'd still like to know why Rick is fucking with the engineer so much in the middle. What was going on.
Great stuff..... And is it just me or does Bill Bruford look like the future dave mustaine??!!
I really wish Jon and Rick would have done more with this harp and organ tune, besides anything that was used in GFTO.
This is the greatest rock band ever assembled!! No question about it. That voice of Jon Anderson cannot be immitated. Add the best players: Wakeman,Christ Squire, Allan White,Steve How, Trevor Robbins, Bufford..the real show of YES was always played live. I was there,in front of the stage at least 20 times. I know what I am talking about.
Anything by Yes is stunning. I still can’t get enough of it….even at 72
Priceless! Golden footage!
Puss appears 22:56
It's funny, Steve , Rick, Chris, just want to get on with it and finish the album before discussing the light show.
Until today i was unaware that fottage of Rick & Jon jamming at the church in Vevey existed. This is like the holy grail of YES obscurities
Yes en el pico mas alto de su produccion musical...
The kazoos, oh my. Have fun, improve every day.
20:41 And there it is: premature...'20:45 Rick is NOT HAPPY with the lesson he has just learned. 29:00 Spinal Tap: the Prog Rock Days 31:01 Jon: Body Language 101: 'Ah....NO.' 35:27 to 35:36 NOPE: Edith Head was NOT a 'good American [costume] designer'--she stole the ideas of other people. Outro: Wakeman, taking his cues from Python, Monty, Ltd.
So cool to watch them having fun and developing these songs Haha love these boys! Steve and Chris at sharing a bit of inspiration blunt 40:48 ❤
❤️thanks for sharing!✌🏼
Rick getting in a bit of his less-well-used classical musical education experience at the end there...
Pedal steel guitars never sounded like this before.
Going For The One was released 2 days before my 16th birthday in the summer of 1977. I bought the vinyl LP from the New Releases section of a record store. When a high school friend found out I had it, she said "You know Vikki C______. If you let her know you have the new YES album and some weed, you will get very lucky". I took the advice. Vikki and I had a lot of good times and I did get lucky many times. I love that album for many reasons, and that one is a great memory from long ago.
Ich bin, wie du 1961 geboren 😂 , und riesiger YES Fan. Mag die aktuelle YES Besetzung um Steve Howe, der nur noch ein Schatten seiner selbst ist, überhaupt nicht mehr 😢😢😢
My birthday was on 23 September 1977, 16 years old. I loved too much that album, I listen it again now 47 years after. Wonderfullll
STILL IMPORTANT 😊
17:18 gfto
Classic Yes . Two wonderful guys of 'one of the best bands ever'
Amazing , thank you
Epic footage. Yes has been my favorite since 1973. That era and genre will never be repeated to that degree.
If you're a practicing musician, you can't help but be astounded by this.
How did they get so damn good!
Ok
I knew Jon played the harp on “Awaken,” but I had no idea he was this accomplished on the instrument.
Amazing , thank you !!!!!!!
With my great Keyboard Hero, the great Rick Wakeman.
I seen Yes 1976 and 1977 at JCNJ Roosevelt stadium. My jesus it was the best concerts ever back then. I will never forget these concerts it was a great time. Steve and Chris wakeman anderson How I worship Chris and Steve god bless you guys. God bless you all wherever you are. Love you all
Neil has the BEST sense of humor. He kills me with the way he'll just say something real straight, not hinting or giving any indication that he's being humorous, but once in a while you'll see him give a sly little smile off to the side when he's finished what he was saying. Its a dry sense of humor but he just slays me with it. His eyes give him away to me. They have a sneaky little twinkle in them, like he's just waiting to see who picks up on what he's saying, who got it that he was being funny. He just makes me laugh out loud. And I love the sly, little smile he'll give sometimes. He's so cool. So honest and true in his words. He explains the way he feels or does things so well. There's not much filter between what he thinks and what he says, which I LOVE. He's just my hero, idol, rock God, perfect musician, perfect human being, my absolute EVERYTHING! I just LOVE him, no matter what.
And I totally LOVE Tim Roth! He's an insanely talented actor. I love every movie I've seen him in and I think I've seen them all. He had great chemistry with Neil. He was just cool, unpretentious, truly interested in what Neil was saying. Asking pretty good questions that got thoughtful answers from Neil. They seemed to get along really well. You could tell Neil was relaxed and not bored by Tim's questions. I felt he was very at ease and comfortable with Tim. Kuddos to Tim, for that is not a state easily attained with Neil. There are only a f ew interviews I've seen of Neil where he is into the interview and enjoying his interviewer. Tim Roth is awesome. What a great idea it was to have him with Neil! I really enjoyed it. One of Neil's better interviews.
I took my ex over (son’s mum) and walked through Central Park on thre Friday and passed the stage as these guys were rehearsing etc. they let my ex get a few photos before asking us to leave.
That was a great day of music ending with everyone on stage.
what a jam , this is a relic ! all those guys are monster ! I wonder to be a Mc fly and come back in the time and get inside this room
in the end Rick polish the boys, since he is the most advanced musician there
#66samus. check this out. Especially at 11:30. What are these Toms that Mr Allan White is playing
love this doco but what the actual Mcflurry at 50:23?? 🤣🤣🤣 with Rick Wakeman conducting? This is hilarious. And then at 54:14 Steve asks," did somebody overblow(new word) at the end? lmfao. They had so much fun making this album
Young Bill Bruford kind of looks like a young Dean Ween
Welcome to every bands rehearsals.
Wow 11:05 Steve on a Telecaster?!
RIP Alan White. The rock and foundation of the band from 1973 onward. Always so involved and so dedicated. I'm glad we have this and other footage to document their working together so well.
Utter absurdity 10/10
Hopefully, Chris & Alan has since picked up from where they left off...
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic group! Nice to see Wakeman Make it look easy to everyone. Good thing they had Roger Dean to make those iconic album covers and colors schemes. They weren't the most handsome of groups so you can see they sold on pure music.
Stage clothing discussion is hilarious.
Great interview with Tim roth planet of the apes and other great movies
Steve Howe is a demigod of guitar walking amongst all animals.
The 11:05 mark is awesome.
To quote a guitar playing friend of mine: "That is the most insane guitar playing I've seen my entire life!" referring to Steve Howe's soloing in Your is No Disgrace in this video. God, he was great here.
Grandissimi!!!!!
