So females due to constant estrous phase adopted the role of preserving eggs which in simple words means they had to hide from males because there was no other way to stop getting impregnated (exceptions of genetically close males like biological father and siblings) Also When humans started to walk upright which made pelvis and birth canal narrower which in turn made it easier to cause dystocia. So naturally humans started getting born prematurely so the cubs of homo sapiens were too fragile to survive on their own unlike other mammals which can quickly walk and run within couple of minutes after birth There’s infertility during the time of lactation so males started killing newborn of other males to get their females into estrous again to impregnate them with their own seeds as soon as possible.( this practice still prevalent in our close relatives bonobos and other mammalian species) And if the paternity is confirmed the males are invested in making sure of survival of female which in turn will make sure the survival of offspring So today what we call today as patriarchy is not only rooted in society but also in our biology, psyche and our subconscious which made many species thrive and survive in this harsh world I’m not giving it as a defence of patriarchy but I’m saying it needs a high resolution thinking about this topic before coming to any conclusion although I do agree with the notion of irrelevance of patriarchy in today’s society

You're right, a jobless boy is considered 'unmarriageable' while a jobless girl is considered 'more marriageable.' Females prefer to marry males who earn more than them, and males prefer to marry those who either don't have a job or would quit if they get married. This is exactly what patriarchy is. The impact though is disproportionate - while emotional and financial burden, mental stress, cannot be negated, the nudge for males is towards more 'success and independence' while the nudge for females is more towards 'subservience and dependence.' It's harmful for both men and women.
