Halsey was probably inspired by Taylor. She also copied her Lover album artwork with the self portrait, pink and blue smokey colors so I think she's def reaching a bit. Not as authentic and real as she thinks lol

These two songs are very different in meaning, yes they do have moments that sound similar, but they are completely different songs, and if anything Taylor Swift should take using a song as inspriation as a complement as many artists sample and use each other as inspiration

My idea about this things is: it's the end result good for people, the fans etc... If it is them we win. We have something else although you can trace its origins... Plus, a lot of bands do the same. I like led zeppelin for example and they have ment things like that. But man, the lee zeppelin versions are something else at least for me and many others... And to be honest, when toy listen the originals you don't see necessarily greatest in them. I'm not saying this happens in all the cases nor in this one. Everyone draws inspiration from other people and other songs. That doesn’t make their efforts any less authentic or less beautiful. Taylor Swift has shaped so much the music industry that it is hard not to draw inspiration from her work or want to take some parts of her amazing sounds and lyrics and place them on a new and still utterly original project. Halsey has said on multiple occasions that she grew up listening to Taylor and therefore of course some of her music would be influenced by the artists she listened to while growing up. Stop trying to pin women against each other!
