This week I replaced my battery and been to the audio shop (where i purchased the head unit from) three times this week. I was planning on returning the unit if I had to go in this last time. Thank you for saving me a fourth trip!
Thank You! Just installed this unit today (5/30/24), and the clock randomly changed to 5:30am, January 5, 2000! RDS information is broadcast from the radio stations and provides the song/artist info for some stations to display on the screen. Some stations are better than others at configuring their RDS clocks, which is causing the issue and explaining why everyone's experience has been somewhat different regarding how far off their clock is.
Mine wasn’t having the issue in the last 6 months, all of a sudden it started. Worst stereo I’ve ever owned but I haven’t replaced it due to budget. The lack of a volume button or knob really bothers me (not talking about the touch screen type button, I mean a physical button). The circular motion only works on certain apps or screens.. I want to utilize my steering wheel controls so I can have an actual button to use without taking my eyes off the road, but I don’t really know if it’s worth investing money into this stereo. Might just have to swap the stereos in my vehicles and put this stereo into the vehicle I rarely use
Yeah JVC has gone down. There is a module they sale on crutchfield or Amazon or anywhere on the internet that will help connect your steering wheel controls to your stereo. I put it in my Jeep and works perfect.
@@robbmillett9600 if I can find one for under $50 I may do it. The screen and aesthetics are great. The sound isn’t bad either, it’s just the functionality and software that really lacks compared to its parent company (Kenwood). My other vehicles have Kenwood and they are very similar however the Kenwood never has clock issues and has a physical button. Only issue I’ve ever had with the Kenwoods is it freezes up and reboots but that only happens once every several months.
Thanks so much Robb for posting this video with daylight savings time change over here in Atlanta and just having bought this from Best Buy I was going crazy too like your other commenter trying to get this DST time adjustment to hold! Appreciate the correction share! 😁😃😃
Thank you for posting this! I was going crazy trying to get the clock to keep correct time. Your video allowed me to quickly resolve the issue and now the clock works like it is supposed to.
I am sorry to hear that. I am not sure why it would keep doing it if you have done this step multiple times unless your stereo keeps reseting to manufacture settings.
Thanks for saving the rest of us a whole lot of headache. Funny how we all have slightly different experiences. Mine would turn the hour back to 12am, but keep the minutes every time the minute changed. Thought I was losing my mind. Set it for 3:15pm, look back down and it’s 12:17am and the date would jump forward a day. Thought I was headed back to the install shop.
You are welcome. I glad I was able to help resolve this issue for you and everyone else. Yeah that is weird how every one is haveing different issues but that little thing can fix it. Yeah, I was about to send it back and get a Pioneer until I talked with a tech and he contacted JVC.
I’ve been pulling my hair out for two days and then I find your video! Thank so much sir! BTW, my time jumping 6 months and 14 hours forward … go figure
So tap the function button, then press the gear looking icon. Tap the user interface and go to the clock adjust and tap that tab and bam. Hope this helps you out.
Same deck same issue but mine falls back 4 hours consistently. Will give this a shot. ALSO, mine doesn't keep the alignment of my speakers. When I say how close or far away the given speakers are on my system which is CRUCIAL to proper good sound, it isn't sticking after a period of time so maybe this will fix that too I dunno. Also do you have beep tones? I have an amp on the front speakers and a separate amp on my subwoofer and was told that if anything is connected to the "pre-out" that I won't hear beep tones when touching menus but my brother has a Kenwood deck and separate amps etc and his beep tone works fine. Mine is set to on but I don't hear a thing out of speakers nor the deck...Any idea anyone?
@@robbmillett9600 yeah whats weird is I LIKE the beep tones because I can tell when. touch registers especially handy on buttonless faces like this one and mine is ON and no beeps. They say in the manual if you're using the pre-outs for anything then you won't get beep tones but I honestly don't know if my amps use pre-outs or not. I'm not versed in car audio very well but my brothers deck as two amps to it and he has beep tones....interesting.....it's been a pain trying to get an answer and even calling JVC they said I should have them audibly if turned on as the amps don't use the pre-outs which again, I'm not sure about at all. LOL. Thank you for the fast reply and happy to say this am my deck time was still correct whereas yesterday it would have been 4 hours off and I'd have had to re-set the time and possibly the date too.
Thanks! This clock thing has (literally) been bugging me for years! I found a firmware update and applied that, but that didn't fix it, so I was getting desperate...Thanks again!
Thanks! I went thru my clock settings 6 times on a trip, and it kept resetting 6 hrs behind. I finally connected my iPhone and it reset it correct time for the trip duration. After watching your video I also found this instruction on the bottom of page 7 of the instructions. The RDS stands for radio data setting, and it turns out radio data is often wrong.
Sir, thank you, sir
Thank you so much.
You're welcome!
Thank you very much 😊
@@Queen_The_Empress you are very welcome.

@dren619 your welcome. Glad I was able to help.
Thanks very fucking much JVC/Kenwood for hiding clock settings in the Radio subcategory. Thank you UA-cam man for helping everyone.
Thank you sir! This unit was installed in my 2010 C6 Corvette. Can you use Android Auto via Bluetooth instead of having to plug in your phone in USB??
@d.kuhlman no problem. Yes you can but you will need to purchase something called wireless adapter/ wireless car play.
Gotcha. Thanks again.
How do you change the time ?
@aaroncarron365 I up loaded a video. But go to functions, hit the little gear, go to the user interface, and look for clock adjustment
Thank you 🎉
How to you set it to the correct date and time???
Hit function, then the gear icon and then user interface. That should help you change the date and time.
Worked perfectly... Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for sharing this! In a million years I never would have thought the fix for the clock problem was in the radio settings menu.

That was driving me crazy 😅 thank you so much 👍🏻

I tried this multiple times and it’s still resetting the time back about 6 hours.

It is odd that it jumps that far ahead. Mine only went 3 minutes ahead. Glad I was able to help you with this issue.
How do you set the clock correctly in the first place? I’m having a lot of trouble.
So tap the function button, then press the gear looking icon. Tap the user interface and go to the clock adjust and tap that tab and bam. Hope this helps you out.
@@robbmillett9600 Gotcha, thanks so much! Now I finally have the right time in my car haha

2 years later and you're still helping people, thank you so much for the video it completely fixed my issues even owning the JVC KW-m150bt model.
Damn. It's been 2 years already?? Glad I am able to continue to help. You tube should be paying me by now.😂😂😂
Thank you this helped me out so much

JVC is absolutely trash with their clocks. Mine NEVER SETS PROPERLY
Thank you. I was about to give up on this.

Thank you. Yeah, I am not sure why they added that feature. It is stupid. I have never seen that on any other radios I have installed in my vehicles.
