So is the professor actually there at the end? Or is she a hallucination? Or perhaps an angel to help her along? Im mot sure what to make of that part. Love Emma Thompson. She knocked it out the park
i won a local drama competition award for playing Posner toward the end of high school - all the other parts are probably too big an ask for teenagers… anyway, play still haunts me
A deeply moving film. Every time I watch it I find something new. And the ending -- "The Runaway Bunny" -- simply brilliant. Emma Thompson's performance is heart-rending ...
I cant find that particular Icon of Saint Sebastian in Google Images . Theres one just like it but not identical , unless the removed part of the post for copyright reasons (which I doubt) Anyone know which version that is ? (ie in Prof Ashfords office , and on the closet in Vivians room )
I cannot believe I stumbled upon this film! I was diagnosed with Stage 3c high grade serous adenocarcinoma- advanced ovarian cancer. Had surgery, and a total of 9 mos of chemotherapy. I am once year with no evidence of disease. This movie was spot on.
God damn it I ADORE Emma Thompson and this movie. I found it originally as research for a novel and now return to it whenever I need something to play in the background while I write. She never disappoints and this is a work of ART.
This movie makes health care professionals like myself look so bad and uncaring it infuriates me! And they can't even get a two view chest x-ray done correctly!
This was a good movie. In the end, I really felt for Emma Thompsons' character. She had more emotional vulnerability than anyone around her, except her nurse, and former college professor, recognized. This can't have been easy for Emma's character, in her last days.
i really cried for 30 minutes straight. this was beautiful and heart wrenching. i had to watch this for my AP English summer homework and i'm glad i did because this was absolutely worth the watch. i have a passion for film and this one truly paid justice to the play. i am still sobbing as i type this.
I had to watch this movie for my English class, I am in a nursing program and most things we are doing are medical related. This movie moved me so much. In November, i lost my grandmother to a hard-fought battle with cancer. Everytime moment I saw my grandma's face and when Susie was with her I saw my own. I was the one explaining what the doctors were doing. I was the one standing my her through every treatment. I was the one who had care and compassion for her when the doctors only saw the numbers. I was the one who brought up palliative care when grandma "didn't want to be a bother" I honestly don't know how I am going to get through this paper.
Just found this movie on UA-cam. When I first saw it on HBO it was like watching myself going through it. I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer when I was 13yrs old. I am now 51 and healthy.
Jason is a twat. 'She's research!!! ' tells you all what you need to know 😢
Stay ahead of the game with an exclusive interview featuring Binance’s CEO on future developments
Like if you still need to write an essay on this film.

She is a Dr. of philosophy? Oh man I'm going to tear into the writing on her attitude on suffering for my essay.

Beautifully done. A reminder to all of us that kindness, simple decent ordinary kindness, means so much.

Movies can teach us so much on how to be a little more human.

The part with Vivian and Professor Ashford. Bloody hell. 😭💔💔💔
Does anybody know the name of the piece played in the end of the film?
This is fucking beautiful. I can't remember the last time something made cry like this wow
all those who are saying they "have to" watch this movie for a class assignment, they are the doctor and the intern...
wooow she couldn't have acted any better... a very heart wrenching movie to watch about the reality of cancer

Emma Thompson is truly one of the best actresses there has ever been. She's a genius. Love her so much.
Is it possible to add subtitles ?
I watched this because I love Emma Thompsons voice and acting!!!
