Переглядів 719 тис.9 років тому
This is a video I made that shows how I get the stink out of my Samsung front loading washer but you should be able to apply this to any front loader.

    I still have the manual and it all comes with the instructions for those who need it. Cleaning the debris filter 1. Open the filter cover by pressing and pulling the handle of the filter cover with your finger. 2. Unscrew the drain cap by turning it counterclockwise. 3. Hold the cap on the end of the drain tube and slowly pull it out about 6 in. (15 cm) and drain off all the water. 4. Remove the debris filter cap. 5. Wash any dirt or other material from the debris filter. Make sure the drain pump propeller behind the debris filter is not blocked. 6. To assemble the filter cap, align the projected part of the filter cap to your 12 o'clock (on an imaginary clock) and turn it clockwise. 7. Replace the debris filter cap. 8. Replace the filter cover. Cleaning the door seal ANING THE DOOR SEAL 1. Open the washer door and remove any clothing or items from the washer. 2. Inspect the gray colored seal between the door opening and о the basket for stained areas. Pull back the seal to inspect all areas under the seal and to check for foreign objects. seal 3. If stained areas are found, wipe down these areas of the seal, using the procedure that follows. a) Mix a dilute solution, using ¾ cup (177 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach, and 1 gal. (3.8 L) of warm tap water. b) Wipe the seal area with the dilute solution, using a damp cloth. c) Let stand 5 minutes. d Wipe down area thoroughly with a dry cloth and let the washer interior air dry with door open. MPORTANT: Wear rubber gloves when cleaning for prolonged periods. Refer to the bleach manufacturer's instructions for proper use. Pure cycle This course is a self-cleaning course that removes mold that may occur inside the washing machine. 1. Press the Power button. 2. Press the Pure Cycle™ button. Finish • You can only use the Delay Start function. 3. Press the Start/Pause button. Carment + 57* chid lock Door look g .. Pure cyclel Delay Start • If you press the Start/Pause button, the Pure Cycle course begins. • Using the Pure Cycle course, you can clean the drum without using a cleansing agent. CAUTION • Never use the Pure Cycle course when laundry is in the washing machine. This may result in damage to the texture or a problem with the washing machine. • If you want to use drum cleansing agent, use only 1/10 of the amount of the drum cleansing agent recommended by the cleansing agent manufacturer. The Pure Cycle Auto Alarm Function • If the "Pure Cycle" button is lit after a wash, it indicates that tub (drum) cleaning is required. In this case, remove the laundry from the washing machine, turn the power on, and clean the drum by performing the Pure Cycle course. • If you do not perform the Pure Cycle course, the "Pure Cycle" indicator is turned off. However, the "Pure Cycle" indicator will light after two washes have been performed. This will not result in a problem with the washing machine. • Although generally, the Pure Cycle Auto Alarm appears once a month or so, the frequency may differ depending on the number of times the washing machine is used

    Vinegar is a good idea when using the clean mode. It can't hurt anything and it cleans areas you can't see. We have an older model and it's a mess.

    Use powder instead of liquid detergent. Keeps smell away bc bacteria doesn’t like powder.

    That's insane that for all the money that we pay for these we have to go through all this. 🤨 In the book it says to only clean the plug once a month. How would you do once a month with all that water that you drained out? 🙄

    • @johndoe-vc1we
      @johndoe-vc1we Рік тому

      Easy, just get a soft drink bottle, and put that tube in it. Let the water finish draining into the bottle and then open the filter and clean it. If you do it once a month it should be fairly clean to begin with. I do mine every three months and seven years later all is good.

      Thanks for the kind comments. I had actually planned for a series of videos but then UA-cam changed the monetization rules right as my channel started and I just shelved the project and never came back to it. On a side note, last year we replaced that front loader with a top loader and we’re so much happier with it.

    I had no idea! We are in a new home. Came with the front loader. Never had one before. Started smelling....looked into UA-cam. After a few non helping videos I found yours! Now I know...and I am following your advice on the whole process. I am also following you on UA-cam lol. Nice work!

    Hi All, it's not only the filter and wiping out the door seal of excess water that you need to clean. You also need to pull out the soap drawer completely, then spray, brush & wipe out the roof of this area. Never keep your drawer shut as mould will have a party. Always leave the door of the machine slightly ajar so the door seal can air. (It's in most manuals & how to videos by the manufacturers). If you follow these few simple steps you'll find you'll need less soap & will have cleaner washes. The environment will appreciate it to. 🦋Happy Washing 👚🩲🧦

    I was about to take everything apart as I saw mold or something building up around the opening but saw your video and by cleaning up and removing the standing water in the little hose in the bottom already make a huge difference! Thanks for this! Very good up to this day! :-)

      If doing this made a difference then your inner tub urgently needs a proper clean and with something more effective than vinegar.

    I would’ve never bought the washer if I knew this disastrous fact. We have to drain it every week or it just stinks badly. Terrible design. Terrible smell. Terrible investment. Just say NO to Samsung frontload.

    • @johndoe-vc1we
      @johndoe-vc1we Рік тому

      Use Affresh t clean the tub. Nobody has to drain out the filter every week. Your tub must be rank and that is where the real problem is. Do an empty extra hot wash with nothing every month. It will help with the smells.

    If you use dry powder detergent, your machine will never smell. I have this same machine. The smell derives from the liquid detergent.

    Great video. I have same washer- A few other tips: I pour straight bleach into that gasket area (down each side, pull it back- get it right in the crack) about once a month when I’m doing a load that will be using bleach anyways. I try not to shut the washer door when it in use so that airflow gets in there. I add vinegar to every load instead of fabric softener.
