What you said was true, i have this classmate of mine, i took her photos at 1.8, and noticed that my images are not that sharp....a lot of them are misfocused especially for the eye part. and I use Nikon dslr which only had focus magnification. I did your advice to stop at f2 and i saw the improvements on sharpness. You will still get that good bokeh even at f2. I liked the lens for the full body shots but the up close ones looked a bit too soft and smeary. Unfortunately vintage lenses don't preform well on Sony cameras at wider aperatures because of the thickness of the Sony sensor stack which is what causes the smearing. It would probably look a lot better stoped down a little. I really don't ever shoot any of my vintage lenses wide open. I usually stop down at least one click depending on the lens.

I have a few issues trying to do street photography: I am incredibly introverted and self conscious and live in a "small" city of around 65,000 people. Really makes it hard to go out and shoot. A couple of things that help a little are going out with a second photographer, going at busier times with more people out, shooting full manual with zone focusing and auto ISO.

First time viewer here and i gotta say, love the effort you put in making the video

It's not really about trying out, photographers need it. This genre helps you get most of the fundamental of photography. Ngl, I've been shooting for a year, and with frequent shooting with portrait backed by street photography technique, it really helps a lot
