My interest is in replicating symbols and serial numbers on firearm receivers and barrels made of aluminum and steel. Letters and numbers as small as 1/16 inch and .003 in depth. I understand a 30w fiber laser is sufficient, and this Haotian is the one I’m thinking about buying. I’d like to know about using Lightburn s/w and what other equipment I will need, like the PC. @ excuse me! when i close the lid the display shows the lock is still open, press start the machine still runs but no laser beam is generated. can you tell me how to fix the error when i close the lid the display shows locked? Thank so much!

Using the supplied USB cable and keep getting the "not connected to Enclas400G" error when I click on start. and nothing happens. The test x and y axis button on the top right works perfectly. Using Windows 11 on laptop.

what is the greatest depth the S1 can engrave in the stainless? Would slowing down the speed result in greater depth? Any particular settings you could share to get the greatest possible depth engraving done in stainless? Thx!

I found a way to see the letters better. When you're on a letter in the character map just move your arrow to the next letter and it shows up bigger. 😊

While this will be great for special situations. I don’t see using it for 40oz wraps. The 50mms is definitely going to be the limiting factor. To have to slow the speed down from 250mm/s to 50mm/s would not be worthwhile business wise. I think it’s a great feature again for specialized purposes but not for tumbler production work.

The alcohol seems to leave a bit of a filmy appearance on the mirror. Is that ok or does it need to be shiny, clean?

in inkscape, under extensions, i see convert dashes to path. But, I don't see convert to dashes. What am I doing wrong?

Curious why you didn't mark your area first, rather than just framing. Second you mentioned 60pwr and 240 spd then just before you started you said 65pwr and 200 spd. Looks like it does what it says it will do. :)

There was a time when it had 3000 speed but it would glitch a lot and so moved it back to 1000. There has always been a speed up and slow down problem (basic physics) that depending on the width of the engrave, going faster could take longer when the distance was short and take less time going faster when the distance was long. This physics has not changed but the improved acceleration has increased the "sweet spot" that is the shortest time it will take. It is true enough that 3000 at even full power will not make much of a mark on wood, but if you are scorching paper it could be handy.

Would you consider doing a voice over of this video explaining what each tool is and the settings you're using? I am new to inkscape and want to learn to do exactly what you show here with my own drawings. Thanks!

I have the P2 tool crumb tray but no riser. How would you suggest I remove Amazon's crumb tray? Would thin metal hooks pull it out?

I have a Glowforge and the honeycomb tray allows full access to cut a 12 x 19 sheet. I recently purchased the P2 with crumb tray, and the tray is too small and inefficient! The 12 x 19 boards sit on top of metal edges which reduces the cutting size and could warp the cutting surface if not completely level. The cutting area is not large enough for the 12 x 12 samples included with the P2. Bad design.

How come when I click node I cannot hoover over each one like you are doing here? all the nodes pop up and I can't just move each letter individually as you show here??
