Well now I have a reason to actively dislike Garth beyond his design feeling completely out of place in Olathe (what even is that mask anyway, what purpose does it serve, how did he get it, why does it keep changing like that to show emotion? The other kickstarter characters felt so much more like they belonged than him. He also looks stupid IMO). I don't like this scene. I get that Lisa has a tendency to combine humor with dark and messed up stuff, sometimes fluctuating or simultaneously using the same tones but this feels beyond off. The game normally handled topics like trauma especially of this variety that Jack experiences in a way that was nuanced and healing for me actually (this game really connected with me for reasons I won't get into), but here it's played as almost a joke. I hate Garth's mannerisms because he reminds me of some people I've met who are equally uncomfortable to be around and it feels like he's being treated as this quirky guy and not... well, a monster. Maybe it's meant to make him seem comfortable when he's actually a disgusting person (the green tint that appears around everything certainly seems to corroborate this reading of the scene), deconstructing the lovable sgegs maniac trope (dont want to annoy youtube by saying the actual word im not that kind of loser I swear) But it's just not clear to me what the intent is, or if it's meant to be open ended.... I get that this scene expands on their characters- Garth is an artist he takes his "work" seriously; Jack is curious about women and upset he doesn't know more. Put them together and this would certainly happen. But I don't like how it is handled. The tone feels too humorous and quirky, like an Undertale cutscene. I don't like that the Garth creator actually is into this stuff from what I read here- I refuse to look at his work so correct me if the other commenters are full of it. This just feels so out of place. I don't like it. I don't like Garth. But at least I know who I'm forcing to play Russian Roullette or sacrificing at some point. Actually no. I have a crueler idea. I'll get Garth and the two other worst people you can recruit in your party and kill them so Buddy can keep her nipple in my next playthrough. Three worthless lives versus my daughter getting hurt is an easier bargain than three lives of people I care about vs her flesh. She might hate me for killing people for her but she doesn't recognize that I did the world a favor... Just feel sick after watching this tho. I honestly have a lesser opinion of the game after watching this.

garth is so stupid. imagine knowing a guy like jack and not being nice to him. he can explode things and he looks like he's made of marshmallow. i would hug him and make his time on earth worthwhile

After that long story (I actually loved its execution), Brad woke up and the game system pointed out “You don’t feel very well-rested.” “Hohoho!”, man I respect the heck out of this game for that

I still remember the surprise I had when I saw this for the first time. I knew we were going to have conversations at Camp Fire because of the trailers and that Brad would participate in them. but it was surprising when I saw that the party members (depending on who you recruited) can also chat but among themselves without Brad For me it was unexpected, even original. PS: I like to imagine that while the party members are chatting among themselves about brad He is either asleep or cooking something on the campfire while he ignores the others and thinks about Buddy
