No gore sucks

A shame they didn't add the PS Vita version to this collection. That port of Sigma 2 brought the blood and gore back in SPADES due to the backlash of the censored PS3 version. That really was a very dumb change, one among many in fact, from the Xbox 360 NGII.

I have sigma on PS3 and it didn't have the dragon sword intro.

I preffer a thousand times the original.

I bought for a high price this trilogy for ps4 and I am so disappointed. I don't care if they added 1 skin for each character if they just left the blood like in the OG I would be happy

Why did you compare Acolytle to Warrior? The difference is staggering anyway in some parts, but this is not a fair comparison. Both have 4 difficulties IIRC

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 has better graphics, but the original is uncensored and in some areas there are more deadly enemies than in Sigma and vice versa. What also changes is the extra content of the Sigma.

I like Sigma (never had an XBox so I can't compare) and am really impressed by Black doing it what it does on original XBox hardware. Sigma has much more appealing scenery, and the music during the second fight is exciting. But I have to say, that should be the first fight. Sigma's addition of a fight the second you start the level seems like such a huge, beginner mistake. One, the player has zero time to learn the controls before getting attacked, whereas in Black you get time to run and jump and might press an attack button and start discovering combos. Two, Ryu's surprise at having two ninjas jump him...well, doesn't make sense for Ryu, but does make sense for the player. Except in Sigma, Ryu just fought two ninjas, so the dramatic introduction of enemy ninjas feels a little late. This is a masterpiece, but it always seemed so weird to me that it started this way, and even weirder when I learned this was a change from the original.

It's difficult to call it. Esthetically they both have their plus points. Unless you can't live without the gore factor of no 2 then Sigma looks just as good.

Love the colorful and vivid aesthetics of Sigma, still holds up marvelously to these days.

I've also noticed that in Sigma 2, Ryu always has shurikens equipped and bound to the circle button and ranged weapon (bow or cannon) was equipped to your R2 button for aiming with L2. However watching gameplays in NG2, your ranged weapon is seperated and cannot equip both shurikens and the bow like NG2. I prefer NGS2 because of how versatile shurikens are to keep the combat flowing and cancel certain weapon combo strings as well as using the bow mid air after a flying swallow at the same time.

The Sigma ports don’t even exist to me. NGB and NGII on my Series X are all I need

It's funny they called it the Master Collection when it's actually a collection of the worst versions of each game.

NG2 vs Sigma is pick your poison. Neither are properly balanced or have good pacing. Limbs and bodied also stay in Sigma. They just added purple mist and removed limb wounds. There is still plenty of blood. You can just mod it out. And you can make NG2 Sigma into Black bia Cheat Engine. First game, Black or Sigma don't really matter since both are perfect. 2 is far from it. Still fun

How do you get across to the other side. I’ve tried jumping across but it will not let me. I jump then it takes me back down to the bottom. And I get back up to where it tells me to jump across and try. But no matter what I do. It will not make it across.

Matt is such a great guy (as are Luis and Brandy of course, but that goes without saying)... and creating a game that makes Luis not want to talk is something to put on your CV. Slao loving thet the mantling issue came up here, that'd be a brilliant addition to EPN!

Not only does Sigma 2 have less enemies but it was made on a different, SLOWER engine with sloggier gameplay and feedback overall. Just play the original 360 release on Xbox One X and call it a day. The Sigma 2 black mod simply isn't a substitute for the original game. It's still on the slower engine.

As a huge fan of gory media it pains me to see that purple mist. I can't for the life of me get this games mods working

The difficulty difference is crazy!!! On Acylote In NG2 I died at least 100 times before I beat the game but in NG Sigma 2 I beat the game while only dying twice.

Definitely some jank. But hey at least the soundtrack is decent lol. Also looked it up and The Prodigy did not do the soundtrack for this.

Really enjoyed hearing how everyone worked together to make a fostering environment to work on this!
