only self control? nothing about the company a man keeps,responsibility and get tasks done without having to be nagged or complaining, generosity (not wealth but being generous with what they do have), cleanliness of body, car and home, dressing appropriately for the occasion,( like don't show up in house clothes when you visit even just your family,throw a polo shirt on and clean sneakers),respect,morals,values, education even if not formal to at least be researching things, learning, taking online courses,etc, Criminal background and mental status is crucial as well as what kind of family they come from, but just as important, how do they interact with that family.
