A Walmart in Massachusetts could get in trouble by refusing cash money. The American federal law is strict about it. One of the reason why businesses wants you to pay by debit or credit card is because they want to track your spending.

Wal Mart is a damn liar !!!! They gave me a $10. bill back in change that was so badly worn and said that's all they had. I tried to turn it in or exchange at my bank and they refused. I sent it to the treasury and it took almost a year to get a check for it. The banks should be putting torn worn bills marked for replacement. The Banks aren't doing their job !

I suggest people buy rice, olive oil, spices, herbs, flour, sugar, oatmeal, canned veggies, beans, and meats. Because regulations will be decreased, no rare meat. Thoroughly cook your meat. Vinegar and baking soda for cleaning, etc. For kids..Kool-aid..it lasts a long time.

Something I realized recently is I need a good supply of herbs and spices. It certainly changes up a meal of rice and beans. I think stock cubes are a great idea too. Maybe not the best shelf life but as long as you cycle them out. I like a one cooked in with pasta, rice too. As a general rule I don't buy any food to store that we don't eat on a regular basis. It's no good being stuck with a box of food that turns everyone's stomach in a crisis situation. Don't forget to put by those other handy non food items if you have extra money for them. Head torches, batteries, candles, power banks, AM/FM radio selection of pain killers/first aid. The list could go on all day but you do what you can.
