So far, my 2025 has mostly brought me gifts from Grampa Nurgle. But I'm managing as best I can. I'm hoping that I'll be up to painting some this weekend. Most of what I've tried to do the past few days has been resting.

Nice job on the Chief, but I really wanted to say that I think I've got those tufts for my Grey Knights! I didn't really get into the games until Halo Reach. I picked that one up at a midnight launch and played it until dawn. One of the few games I got all of the achievements for (until the DLC came out.) The originals are really great games, with a good community. I need to fire up the Master Chief collection. It's been too long. Hope you had a great Christmas!

Hey! Im looking to buy a titan and dont know what i should get! This one caught my interest but i had ZERO idea about the actual scale of it. It being 120 dollars, i was skeptical of it being the full thing. Glad this video showed it as a smaller version of the bigger thing. What would you recommend for a collector/player?

1988, Rogue Trader book. Beer cans, bark chips and Styrofoam packaging pieces made our first terrain. The terrain now? Simply mind blowing. And I'm still in love with this stupid game ❤😂👍 Its not a huge issue with the newer plastic kits, but washing the sprue in Dawn dish washing liquid may eliminate that glue non-bond problem. Its a habit for me, been washing kit sprues since the 70's when the old guys in the hobby shop told us to wash the sprue. This GW terrain is so cool. I paint it to a high standard. Thats just me. Its joy to do so.

I know this is a two year old video, but damn I love these.

I haven't tried one of their tanks, but I've printed a few models from a kickstarter I backed a few months ago. They're nice models, but these were a little small. (That may be because they're trying to hit the Horus Heresy feel). I love their sculpts, and I'm looking at their store frequently. They don't have any Grey Knights, but I do have interests in other armies as well.

So far my wargaming experience has been limited to GW, with a single round of OPR's version of Kill Team. I wish I had the time to devote to all of these different games, but I'm sticking close to my Grey Knights for now. (I'm coming up with names for each of my models). My daughter expressed an interest in playing, though, so I'm going to 3-D print her proxies for the Ork Kommandos kill team, and build myself up some Night Lords so she can try it. I'm waiting for the Black Friday sales though. If I can get a good enough deal, I may try to snag her the Ork Combat Patrol. (She loves squigs!)

It looks like plenty of Grey Knights players include assassins in their list. I haven't gone there yet, but I'm not ruling it out. I agree completely about 3-D Printing. I have trouble seeing GW beginning to allow it though, since they're positioned primarily as a model company at this point. As near as I can tell, the most likely outcome is that their sales decrease, leading to more price hikes, fueling 3-D printing, decreasing their sales... And at least on some level it's how it looks now. I hope they can get out of that.

Those are some gorgeous sculpts! The guy leaping off of the fallen wolf looks like the centerpiece of a diorama. Some of these independent producers make models that are as good, or better than GW, hands down. I'm trying to settle on a proxy for the Nemesis Dreadknight. I loved how well it performed in my recent game, but I'm not crazy about GW's model. But it's got to fit in with my army.

I'm building a Brotherhood Champion and a Grand Master using 3-d printed bodies and spare parts. One of the nice things about Grey Knights kits making more than one type of model means that there are a lot of spare bits and weapons. And I'm not buying another set of each to build one character model. Honestly, I need another Librarian. I happened upon a 3-d scan of that model, so I've printed it out. I've got a ton of stuff that just needs to be primed right now. I put my Grey Knights on the table this past weekend against the Genstealer Cults. Had to quit after turn 4 to go pick up my daughter, but my opponent said I would've had him after turn five. I fielded 5 strike marines, 10 Purifiers with Castellan Crowe, 5 Terminators with a librarian and a Nemesis Dreadknight. That thing went down in turn 2, but it was a threat.

Months ago, I was browsing the GK reddit and saw someone post their own custom Draigo proxy. H gave me a link to his 3D models, and I printed one out. I wish I knew where I could put it to show you. He was one of my favorite models to paint. I still need to detail his sword. I've only played up to 1k points, and only have my 2nd game this weekend. I'm planning to use him in larger games if I play them though. Apparently he's great to keep in reserve with a Terminator brick. If I recall, he gives you a bonus on charge rolls, so you drop them behind the enemy for a good one. Grey Knights are absolutely awesome to paint. I loved the recessed gold with the words. I give that a good wash with Reikland Fleshshade - those are probably my favorite parts of the models. They may be a bit stumpy by comparison, but I still love 'em. They've got awesome details, and their heraldry gives you plenty of freehanding opportunities if you're brave enough. (I'm not.) Right now, I'm building a generic Grandmaster and a Brother Champion. I'm using 3-d printed bodies, but regular GW plastic for the arms/weapons. The body I printed for the champion came out Primaris scale, so I had to scale him back 18% or so. I'll look at him again tonight.

I say get the sanding tools and file that symbol on the cloak off! Symbol of heresy.

Did the shoulder pads fit on top of the original shoulder pads? Or did they take the place of the original? Been humming and ahhing about getting one or not, just cannot find information on how the kit fits to the dreadnought Thank you

This is such a great kit! I'm actually planning for a 1k game on Sunday. I've got a 5-man Brotherhood Terminator squad with a Librarian, and you can bet they've got an Apothecary. But there are so many awesome bits you can add! I've got a strike squad, an interceptor squad and squad of Purifiers (with Castellan Crowe). I'm also taking out my Nemesis Dreadknight for the first time. I don't do a lot of playing, this will be my second game with them. :) I've got a painted banner. It's not *that* bad. It's got the raised areas so it's not as bad trying to paint it up. That's an awesome paint job! I'm also using a purple/pink base. I paint different parts of the bases in Shyish or Magos purple and I've got some purple/pink tufts. Thanks for the shout-out! Enjoy the models! This really is my favorite 40k kit.

I just caught this. I wish I'd seen it earlier! I love the look of your paint scheme! I think it's pretty close to what I do as well. I started following One Last Blade's scheme, but I've gotten a better idea of what I like. Granted, they're Grey Knights. So of course it's mostly variations on silver. I've started trying to put a knight's personal heraldry on their right shoulder, which is usually some combination of red and white, split horizontally, vertically or diagonally. (I'm not confident enough to try to free-hand the heraldry that's detailed in the codices.) Maybe I'll see if I can get some transfers. I love those pewter models! I've acquired a bunch of them. And while I appreciate the things you can do with the multi-part kits, there's something awesome about the details being sculpted to an individual model. The way the purity seals flow is so dynamic that I think you can't get from the multi-part kits. I think I've built myself at least a ten-man of each type of squad. I do wish that the Grey Knights had a wider model range, but it is nice that both the Terminators and strike squads can build out multiple types of units. And, the NDK aside, I don't think I've seen a proxy for any GK model that looks as good as GW's design.

I like the NMDK, but it's still a meme for the baby carrier. I made the one-weapon mistake on mine as well. I'll need to get another somewhere, or switch entirely to 3d-printed proxies. I do love that the bases have lots of room for basing stuff. For my GKs, I base with Leadbelcher, then do recess shading with Drakenhoff Nightshade. I use GK Steel for my highlights. The last thing I do, I saw this on GW's UA-cam, was to thin some Tallassar Blue contrast with Contrast Medium (like 3 parts medium to 1 part paint) and paint that on the lower parts of the armor panels to blue the steel a little more. I haven't done that on my NMDK yet. I don't want my GK to be too bright (no chrome here) but I really like the effect. I need to find a way to send you some pictures. I love how my Grey Knights have come out!

I played vanilla Warhammer as a kid, was always aware of 40k but never got into it. I'm now approaching my 35th Bday, and admittedly Space Marines 2 was the cherry popper. I'm now 80% done my Black Templar combat patrol with Grim, Helbrecht, and a Brutalis on the way. I purchased an apothecary not only because there was one in the Helsreach animation, but always had an admiration for the healer, the medic. I hope to incorporate him in my army no matter how useful or useless he may be.

Bought a bunch of leagues and some AoS stuff. No Space Marines yet but either Salamanders or Alpha legion some day. Still working assembling.

Is your list based on what you own or units you like to play

I have several of these in my Grey Knights force, but they're the metal ones. I'm using them as Justiciars for my Terminator squads. They're awesome. I love painting the tabards and loincloths. I use just some regular texture paint, then I prime it white and coat it with Shyish Purple and Magus Purple to get those shades.

Thanks, this video cleared up some confusion on this box. The description on the website didn’t specify that it came with more than just the blood claws. So I was extra confused when I opened it. It’s my first space wolves army.

This is a product I'm going to be testing out as my goal for my AdMech bases is going with a Ruined City/Nuclear Winter vibe, with the general strategy of starting with a thin layer of concrete and then adding any bits and bobs as well as a second texture for ash drifts and some snow or ice effects on some models to emphasize the "winter" in "nuclear winter". Based on this and other comments it seems that if I want sidewalk gray I'll have to shade the concrete, but I'm guessing there's not really a problem with the texture?

I got the new Skin Tones Triads (Hexads?). The first thing that I do when I get new paints is shake them well on a vortex mixer and then use a couple drops to paint the cap so that I can see what the color is when it is dried. Often this is different than what it looks like in the bottle and also either lighter or darker than what it is wet.: 1) they reused 2 of the names from the old Toners ("Pearl" and "Obsidian"), but these are very different than the Toner colors. 2) 4 more names were reused but the colors completely changed from the old versions (new Jasper, new Dorado, new Mocca, new Onyx) 3) the remaining 5 "Skin" names are reused and are similar to their old colors, but not the same. 4) the "rose triad" is not based off of the old Rose Skin or Topaz Skin, but rather Barbarian Flesh. So the entire Rose Skin Triad (including new Pearl, new Opal, and new Rose) is more peachy than the old colors, which.were more pinkish. There is no longer an option for a pale nordic or pictish berserker, a creamy complexion, or a LotR movie elven princess look. 5) both of the other triads were also changed from the older Skin Tones, so they are different ranges. In particular the darker reddish Skins (old Jasper and old Mocca) are gone completely, with the new colors of the same names being very different. The old versions were good for sub-continent Indian and some reddish African skin tones, but are no longer available. 6) a number of other old warpaints can be grouped with the colors from the old skin set to make additional hexads for more variety. eg: Mummy Robes, old Opal Skin, old Rose Skin, Centuar Skin, Vallejo Old Rose (70-944) and Scar Tissue are more pinkish (and pale at the light end) than the new Rose Hexad. Similarly old Jasper, old Tigers Eye, Crusted Sore, old Mocca, and Chaotic Red can be grouped for more reddish hued dark skins when used over a dark brown base. The new Ruddy Browns are probably good for that base. 7) Soft Skin wash is gone, only Strong Skin and Dark Skin washes remain

These are awesome and I've wanted to get a set for quite some time. Unfortunately, I'm knee-deep in building a Black Templar 40k army, so a 30k army of a different faction is kind of a hard left turn for me. Still, the models are cool looking and I think I like them better than the 40k terminators in terms of aesthetic.

Come on GW just give me proper space wolves and take my money.
