These three songs perfectly out together makes me feel a freedom that I’ve never felt before. Truly beautiful!

When I hear the hot guitar intro to this version, I always imagine it being a soundtrack to fighter jets off a carrier, like Danger Zone in Top Gun. Interesting the two songs were released as singles within 2 weeks of each other, with Danger Zone first in April 1986, however Born to Rock n Roll was recorded earlier (by 4-5 months) in August 1985. Except for the second verse, it's a pItty most of the Born to Rock n Roll's lyrics were pretty naff - probably why the song didn't catch on well. With rewritten lyrics on another fast-paced adrenalin-filled topic, the song as a whole would stand up better. By comparison, the Danger Zone chorus really nails it. Like Paul said, this version is the original 12'' single 'Special Extended Mix', not the remixed 7" version from My Kinda Life.

Ich bin fast 50. Das die jüngeren das in der Schule hören "mussten" wundert mich schon. Wir haben es damals gehört weil wir es geil fanden! Gut für die Hosen das die von den Schulen mächtig GEMA Gebühren kassiert haben...😀

I miss the time when albums were meant to be listened, all the way through. I miss that audible journey, the discovery of experiencing magic for the first time... and then going down that road again. This was one of the first albums I bought with my own money. It was a cassette. I would listen to these three songs with my earphones, in heaven, and rewind the tape, playing this again. What tremendous artists! Times were good then, and still, there are more good times to be had. Tears for Fears always reminds me of those idyllic, wonderful times. Thanks for posting this.
