    We have cleaned our infinity fan following your video. After reassembling and firing up our laser we are encountering an exhaust problem. The fan is not extracting enough and setting off our fire alarms. We have also removed and cleaned both exhaust hoses, the one leading into the laser and the one leading out of the fan. Additionally, we took it apart and reassembled everything a second time to make sure that everything was tight and secure. Any suggestions on what to do now? Thank you.

    I have a P1 laserbox. I rarely used it because I use the glow forge. It first told me you need a new filter so I got a filter then it told me I needed to clean the lenses so I clean the lenses and now it won’t cut it will score but that’s all it will do and I just cannot figure out what’s wrong with it. I did order a P2 but it’s not unboxed yet because the end was open and it was wet so I don’t know if the fluid inside is leaking or what so I’m trying to get this going.

    Thanks for your video, it was what I was looking for. I have a big dilemma, I would like to buy Xtool P2 to cut acrylic to create souvenirs but I would use it in an apartment. I have two options either I put it on the balcony or in a room specifically dedicated for this which has a window that opens onto a corridor where only two of my neighbors would pass (this corridor is outdoors). In my place, which configuration would you use laser + purifier + in-line fan or laser + in-line fan + purifier before venting on the corridor which is outdoors? Do you see it as feasible and in your experience would it bother the neighbors? Or would it be better on the balcony only with an in-line fan but since the balcony is open it would be annoying with the noise? I live in the Canary Islands so I don't have temperature problems. Thank you very much for your kind reply

    Why are you using such a large fan?

    • @sharscrafthaven2091
      @sharscrafthaven2091 10 місяців тому

      The larger the fan the more CFM (or cubic feet per minute) air flow I get. As my laser is not directly next to the window, I lose some power with bends and distance. I had a smaller 4" model and there was still some smoke, the larger fan has no residual smoke sitting in the machine afterwards. Since it has speed settings, I can scale it down to half if I don't need a lot of airflow, some materials it is a must to do full power (like acrylic). Hope this helps!

      You mean for framing in Lightburn? The light is not where the laser head is, it is offset.

    • @ulaB
      @ulaB Рік тому

      @@sharscrafthaven2091 It must be offset a specific amount though, so they could amount for that distance for framing. EDIT: Just as I klicked "reply" I realized it must be at an angle for them to determine the height. So it wouldn't work with an offset, because it will be off in one direction depending on the height of the material.

    • @ulaB
      @ulaB Рік тому

      @@sharscrafthaven2091 The M1 filter is what they sell as "xTool Smoke Purifier"? It'll be ok if it works just in closed operations. It's mostly smells like acrylic, etc. I am concerned about since I don't have a good way to vent it outside. I have actually thought about making something to close it up a little more in the passthrough/open modes too. Perhaps omething like a brush skirt like they use for CNCs for example can work for that.

    so is it true this laser does not have a pointer? how can you do framing on Lightburn without a pointer? CO2 lasers are not visible so a pointer is necessary. I guess you don't need it when using XCS as the cameras are supposed to be kind of precise but not having the pointer reduces lightburn capabilities a lot. I guess there;s no way of using print & cut feature of lightburn either.

    • @sharscrafthaven2091
      @sharscrafthaven2091 Рік тому

      The beta software didn't have a pointer, in lightburn you can use the laser itself, but I could not get that low enough power to not mark the wood. I put a piece of tape on the head to approximate where the laser pointer would be during framing. Not ideal but was close enough for fresh wood. The dual camera in XCS is much better. I know they are working with lightburn to try to expand compatibility.

      I have had a ton of experiences with xTool and the company has changed a lot (when I got my first laser it was much smaller). Customer service has improved and then slipped back (as new products are added there is a lag time to increase after sales). Over all I believe they do their best. If I were to start a business I would have replacement parts on hand and a back up plan in place. (I have a co2 laser and a back up makerspace I can go to in case it breaks down, to keep going). @@sharscrafthaven2091 yes, I have the Bell clicked on. 🙂 I got notified when you were done. I did get a new phone. I don't think that's the problem, but who knows. I did watch the replay 😊

      Thanks for the feedback, I should probably re-record the old videos when I was just starting out (I didn't have the best mic). Feel free to reach on the xTool Official Co2 group for other connection help/ideas.

    Thanks for the share. Is it worth learning a whole new software? I usually work with illustrator and then spend half a day trying to get certain designs to work on the laserbox software.

      I found XCS has less scaling issues than in the old software. I found lightburn much more robust. You can also import into lightburn and export gcode. I did that for images and got a much better result. I design in inkscape and probably will still do for for building projects.
