What Is Gorilla Willie B Jr Staring At??
Переглядів 40121 день тому
Willie B Jr is watching something in his enclosure nearby. He likes to watch insects flying around, but in this clip I noticed some odd reflections or opaque object moving near him and it seems like that is what he is watching. I made an expanded clip to see what your opinion about what is going on in the video. Leave it in the comments and thanks!
The Gorilla Cuddle Power of Baby Willie B III is Strong in this Family

ZooAtlant's Willie B III and his mom Shalia are napping and cuddling, totally relaxed. Silverback dad Willie B Jr often walks up to them very close, and Shalia doesn't flinch, she just stays relaxed, because she knows her Silverback is checking up on them and always protecting her and her baby. Willie B III is obsessed with his dad, and often runs to him and wants to touch him, and Jr doesn't m...
Kid Gorilla Floyd is Getting BIG! Non Stop Gorilla Wrestling with Sister Andi!
Переглядів 39121 день тому
Floyd is not a baby anymore, and is really barely a kid. He is 5 years old soon, and while him and his sisters wrestle a lot, they always have the advantage and over power him. Now, he clearly is stronger and bigger, and soon he will be overpowering them. He still thinks he's a kid as he wrestles with Andi all morning here.
Baby Gorilla Willie B III is already becoming Independent!
Переглядів 73521 день тому
Willie B III is showing early signs of being independent of his mom Shalia, at lease when it comes to foraging. He has a long way to go, but he is not afraid to be on his own to look for his own food items. He still will rely on his mom for several more years, but watching him grow is exciting! Ps. The video says habitat 2, but this habitat 4, sorry for the error.
Shalia Cuddles Willie B III, Then he runs to Dad and the whole Family has a Picnic, Amazing Moment!

Today was the first time seeing Willie B run from mom and explore his habitat. He ran straight to dad, Willie B Jr, who was sitting on top of the hill. Shalia showed up, and laid down right next to Willie B Jr, who watched as she played and cuddled with their baby gorilla. Willie B. is starting to show mischievous behavior just like Floyd used to do, and still does. Zoo Atlanta will definitely ...

Willie B III recently turned a year old and is doing great. He still clings to his mom Shalia every where she goes, but occasional forages for food and walks around the immediate vicinity whenever mom stops for a minute. The visitors at Zoo Atlanta love this little guy, and always has big crowds whenever he's visible. The reaction is always the same: "Oh look, it's the baby gorilla! There's the...

Willy B Jr and his infant son interact for a moment.
Please do not use the father's name as the name of the family-- antiquated, sexist, and ridiculous tradition. It's the Shalia and Willie B Jr. family, period. Let's face it, that whole thing comes from a time women were pretty much legally on par with quasi-slaves, and in many ways even socially so.

Look at W3 picking his own leaves❣️. Thank you for letting us hear the natural environment and not playing music!
If I go early its usually not crowded yet, plus you hear the lions roar at 9:30 every morning!
He is so precious 😊
Hi. Can you show JJ and Kamoli. They are there temporarily, and the Columbus Zoo visitors rarely make videos. Thanks in advance.
There is Amari from Buffalo Zoo and Kambera from Columbus Zoo in Habitat 1, and yes, I'll add them next trip!
@@TheGorillasNextdoor Kamoli is Kambera's son, but he is not in a family group. They are going to be "bachelors" when they return to Columbus. The zoo is currently renovating their habitat.
@@TheGorillasNextdoor Thank you so much. I have enjoyed your videos for the last few months. I was at your zoo last summer, and I would have a hard time getting good video of the gorillas because of the layout of the habitats. You do a stellar job though.
Omg he grows so fast I swear it felt like just last week he was clingy to mommy now he is walking on his own . It is so cute when he was ready to be picked up mommy was there
Wow! Will3 is doing a great job!👏🏽
This is my first time seeing Shalia up close. Her daughter looks just like her.
I remember seeing Willie B at the zoo in Atlanta, he had his own tv in his enclosure, sad when Willie B died.
I saw him once too in that enclosure. You know, the keepers there really loved him growing up, and gave him a lot of attention when he was young, interacting with him constantly, then he just got too big to play with, and they were really upset at him being alone with nothing to do. Back then the Zoo was run by the City Parks and Recreation Dept, so there just wasn't a budget to do anything, cept put that TV in there. It was sad he spent so long in there but the moment he stepped out into that new enclosure for the first time, with all those thousands of people watching... it must've been incredible. He went on and lived 13 years outside and led his family successfully fathering lots of off-spring.
A mothers love. ❤

Beautiful
Is it something wrong with Willie B's right hand, seems he spares it while moving?
Yes, I saw that too, it looks like its sprained maybe? When he is running he accidentally hits it with his knee and jerks it away pretty quick. It's obvious he can't use it, but he also is playing still so I don't think it's anything severe, I hope the keepers are awre of it.
I noticed it to hope his arm gets better he adorable looking lil guy 😍❤️🦍 remind me a Ringo 😂
💞💞💞Cute, that's a mum that trusts her silverback. Little Willie B III looks adorable tottering about. Building up his strength, confidence and independence. One day he's going to be just as mighty as his father. 💖💖🦍
😅
Why do they make it so hard for her get the food?
The zookeepers hide the food to encourage the gorillas to forage for food like they do in the wild. Gorillas spend 80% of the day looking for food and eating it.
Well, they have open access to food inside all the time, and in the morning keepers throw chunks of fruits and veggies all over the yard so they are constantly foraging. The "traps" with food in them are called "enrichment items" and they are meant to give the gorillas a mental workout by making them solve how to get the food out the best, to "enricj" their mental well being. That is what they are SUPPOSED to be. However, to me, they look like an annoyance to the gorillas, because they all know how to get food out of each one very easily. So in the morning it's just a routine thing, and they all try to get those first to be the one who gets the best items out first. If you notice, Shalia will leave most everyithing in there and got the veggies first. In the wild, all gorillas pretty much do is eat all day long, and forage, and eat, then bed down for not. They also nap during the day. So the zoo tries to give them enough food to find throughout the whole day. Some days they also will throw a bunch more whole fruits to them, snack time. I have a dew videos of them scrambling to catch oranges and stuff.
He is so cute and gorgeous 🥰 And Mom is so loving and caring 😘 I want to hug him and give him lots of 💋‘s 😂 Thank you for sharing and just love Willie B III ❤
Wish i had someone talking as this is my first viedo i believe. Beautiful mom and son thank you
Willie B III!!!! So dang cute@ o love how momma scoops him up on her back once she's ready to be on the move lol. I could watch him literally for hours!
Music turned me right off, sorry no can do
Use mute
@@lindapelle8738 I like to hear the animals not listen to music.
Sooo the music, I have to put something because the people screaming and yelling saying dumb things would ruin every video. I've started to just do a intro jingle and an outro jingle, but critical comments are welcomed, because really, I can only make these better with honest reactions, so thankyou. Just wanted to give you a little background on why its there. It's funny, my friend who does the gorilla videos at Kyoto Zoo with the Momoto Family, I think I commented to him once and said the music was horrible... I just figure something folksy and happy sounding that I can license....
@TheGorillasNextdoor it was way too loud, and I would rather hear the Gorillas. Even the Momotaro family music is loud. There should be microphones so that we can hear them. Shabani's family can be heard, no problem.
In reality, the gorillas rarely actually make any noise vocally, other than chest beats which I always leave in, and if there are any important interactions with them making noises I leave those alone too. They are usually too far away to hear anything, and I'm telling you, listening to these crowds and the ridiculous sounds they make right near and say so close to the camera would ruin every video. I'll experiment with that and see how it's recieved by viewers. Thank you for your feedback as always!
Is Floyd related to Cleveland’s baby Sumomo ? Because when he was munching on grass he looks a lot like her
I will check a chart I have somewhere...
Every time I watch a video taken at a zoo or preserve where animals are on display, I am humiliated as a human because all those people are so disrespectful to the animals. Loudly shrieking adults with “ooh look!”, kids yelling to siblings and parents as they are empowered to stomp and run around freely by their less-than concerned parents, and just all the noise the onlookers make. I can only imagine the dread these intelligent creatures feel when visiting hours begin. It’s bad enough their own freedoms are nonexistent but to be forced to live a part of their lives contending with inconsiderately loud people wandering past them daily seems so depressing. I understand that most zoos take great care if their animals. I just wish that visitors could understand just how much impact each of us might have on the animals and teach our kids respectful noise levels and then continue to embrace that thru our adulthood.
Yes, I feel the same way. I couldn't listen to that noise every day.
You bring up a very valid point. How difficult is it to print some signs that encourage the zoo visitors to be quiet around the apes? “Very sensitive animals - your silence is very important to respect the gorillas” or something like that.
I cannot say that you don't have a solid point. One of the absolute worst things to watch ow witness is all these people trying to make silly grunting sounds, and the kids screaming.... it is bad. So bad that I normally take out the recorded audio for the clips on busy days, and I have to re-use something more tranquil that I've recorded before. If I didn't, the people talking and their chatter would be a huge distraction. In this video, there was a big crowd of people behind me, and it was hard to listen to. Sometimes I turn around and tell the people, if you want to see them better, don't be loud because they don't like yelling and screaming. I wish the Zoo would put signs up to mention to people to not yell, because imagine if every single day as soon as you woke up, a bunch of strange people were being rude as heck and acting that way? These gorillas understand emotions through the tone in how someone speaks. When it comes to their freedom the only thing I tell myself is that everyone one of the gorillas in ZooAtlanta were captive born, and do not know what the wild is or have memories of it. If you put them in the wild, they would probably not survive, or be really upset because their food wasn't prepared for him. I respect every one's disagreements with zoo's they are all valid, and after all, humans have screwed up everything on the planet pretty much. I go back n forth all the time. At least these gorillas aren't under threat of being hunted for bushmeat either. Thanks for your comment!
@@TheGorillasNextdoor as I had said, the zoos generally take good care of their charges. The do allow humans to remain embarrassingly human tho
