"Try" is a gift.
How well I remember that day back in early summer 1991 when you were playing the "Little Bit O' Country" stage in Six Flags over Georgia. Listened to ya'll for at least 2 hours that day and picked up a tape. We must have talked w/ each other for about 30 minutes after your set. Heck, you were still Hyra and Bush back then. I asked about a CD so I could put you on my radio show but you didn't have any at the time. I still have that tape to this day. How great it is to see you playing again.
Get me out of here spin-off was great!!! 😂
Thanks again 🎉
Brilliant Boys. Can’t believed I missed this 😮 You guys are INCREDIBLE. It’s truly like I got into a time capsule 😂. Living on the @ss end of the world (South Africa) has its benefits but wish I could have seen you guys live..live… Thank you for this. Im half way to work and half way home now 😅
Thank you guys….
I became a better musician when I listened to you guys over 20 years ago, but in retrospect, I think your music made me a better man. I put down the guitar and locked the vocal box now for pretty much 7 years and guess what… You do it again!!! I watch this and I think its time to dusk off the guitar, look for the key and unlock the box again. What an amazing ride back into time… Thank you gents…
Wow. Just awesome. I’ll be honest last night I went through my old cds. Kept yours. Thank you for your music that got me through my 20s. 59 today. Haha
That was lovely guys, Thanks! And I'm glad you're back!
Kristian: I've known it for years, but just now I'm struck by the lyric about video games and lying about changing our names. Beautiful.
While it has more restraint, "With You I'm Alive" seems like a song that could be playe alongside Jim Steinman's catalog. Brilliant.
Wish I had known about this at the time. Such great songs that I’ve always kept on my playlist. You guys sound outstanding.
great to have you guys back !!! much love from Berlin ❤
Good stuff. In my humble opinion, you have a magic together - that's not something to easily dismiss.
Damn. "TRY" is one of those rare songs that has the malleability of a river through time. What that song meant to me when I first heard it can't be quantified. It was a staple on every mix tape I ever made. Years later, as I changed, I found more subtext buried inside - whether buried inside me or the song remains unresolved. Now today, staring down 50 and restarting my life after numerous missteps - or maybe not? - this song is momentum, is a champion of change, and even a bit of enivitability and destiny. There are maybe 10 songs like it in existence. Thank you for this gift, guys. It keeps giving.
Went through my old cds last night. Found 2 Billy Pilgrims. And I’m like I forget them but I need to listen to again. Insomniac is like a song about my second husband I met 10 years ago. I turned 59 today. And to hear that and Try again just made my day. I also put this on all my mixed tapes I made for my friends and for my road trips. Also Louisiana song. Omg I don’t have my glasses and I can’t read title and I just fkg listened to it. Hahahaha. Sorry I’m old. Great band and great memories
Have always liked this duo.

at 7:25, Andrew kicks into their wonderful song "Try", which has a delightful tipping point at 9:30 and a brilliant bridge at 10:25
OMG "Try" brought tears to my eyes!
Love these behind the scenes song chats
Fantastic! I’ve been waiting and waiting for this to happen! Saw you guys at the Mercury Lounge in NYC back in 1996 (I think 96). Also at Jones Beach as the opener for Melissa Etheridge (“opening band blues “! Lol). So happy you are at it again and sounding great!! Oh! And Benji Shanks is great. Seen him with Blackberry Smoke several times. If you are not familiar, check them out!
I saw them at the CD release party at Eddies for Billy. I remember Kristian had a Star Wars guitar strap that he used. I thought that was awesome.
How did I miss that the guys started a channel? I haven't seen them live since the CD release party for In the Time Machine. Two shows at Eddie's Attic. It was fantastic!
Missed the livestream, but enjoying the replay. Thanks for posting this.
How do I get you guys to do a "Lady of the Mist" live version? Want.
Love love love.
Just absolutely wonderful. I would be eternally grateful if, the next time you decide to do something like this, you do Lady of the Mist. One of my favorite BP songs that I've never heard live. Please and thanks :)
This is so cool, love seeing artists "geek out" on the tech stuff and talk about the creative process etc. And this is like opening a time vessel to rediscover the timeless musical magic captured by Billy's "time machine!" Priceless. You all are so talented and haven't gotten nearly enough popular due, but that may very well be about to change. Anyone who comes across this will be in for a wonderful surprise!! So excited to receive a vinyl copy of this amazing aural experience!! \m/ \m/
Man, this is just too cool, and so restorative at a time when I really need it. So happy for this development and to stumble upon these amazing live stream collabs! As mentioned above, life IS better with you two back together and lighting up the world with your songs!
Nice, feel good music. Thanks for recommending, J.
@@krash66 Awesome!! So happy you enjoyed it! They do have some undeniably special chemistry and damn those deal harmonies really get into your bones. Check out their latest release, which is really a re-release of their final album in 2001. Lots of cool stuff on In the Time Machine, very unique and well produced. Spread the word, cuz a lot of ATL peeps will probably remember, at least vaguely, of BP from back in the day.
Have I been living under a damn rock??! How did I not stumble on this sooner??! Andrew back together with Kristian and Brandon?!! Say what you will about this miserable Covid-tainted past year, but it just turned out to be a whole heckuva lot better than initially reported if it brought about this reunion of magical music chemistry!! \m/ \m/ PS - new BP music in the offing??
Kristian, where'd you get the Wander cap?
Superb takes of I Won't Tell and Louisiana Sound!
On SLS, I want more from the shaking camera on the drums. so GARAGE.
At least something good has come out of this pandemic ... the great Billy Pilgrim is back together where they should be.
That's a real reason your music is so awesome. You are all generous musicians. You support each other when you hear something that one of you do that adds into the song and you encourage your fellow musician. It just makes the song amazing, because your in it for the quality of the song, not your own pride. You are an amazing group of men.
Damn... I really needed that. Work, family, life - it seems like everything has conspired to keep me from “keeping up” with these releases. Today I made space to listen to this, and it just washed some much needed calm and hope over me. Hearing Kristian tell of trusting the other with “their” music really resonated; warm memories of them playing off each other at The Cotton Club or magical Eddie’s Attic performances. Two very different performers trusting and improving the other. Thank you gentlemen!
👏👏👏thank you!
Sweet Louisiana Sound gave me chills. Y'all come play Charleston soon please!
And... YO, WILL!

FAAHHHCKIN' A! How timeless. No pun intended. After 20 years for something to still sound so fresh is remarkable.
Thank you so much for recording these. I know this album like the back of my hand so these insights are absolutely priceless.
Yall gotta do this with the previous releases too! Can't remember how I got a copy of this album years ago, but grateful and loved it. Hearing new parts as I listen along with you. Too cool.
Loving this so much. The stories are awesome and to see your joy while revisiting is a great window. Every time the instrumental hits on Blindspot I become a fanboy air drummer, banging out the ride on those quarter notes with the snare accents. Can't wait to see yall live and in person again. Live music is about to see a revival.
I LOVE this! I love watching your reactions to the incredible songs on this album. Thanks for doing this. So good.
This is so much fun! This is one of my all time favorite records, and the stories brings it all together. Love how y'all are struggling to remember not only who played what, but HOW!!! And everyone laughing at all these happy accidents!!! Like catching lightning in a bottle!!!
Blindspot ... gets me everytime
I've been loving the re-release of In the Time Machine and learning about how it was made. I have no idea how I got the CD, maybe I ordered it off the website or something, It doesn't matter. I've been listening to it for 20 years and it's amazing from start to finish. Open All Night, Hard Rain, and one of the best songs I've ever heard...Blindspot. Amazing piece of art.
Love this. Gotta be a bit strange listening to a much younger "you" for the first time in a long time...
This was so much fun!
