Mums and Sons Capoeira Event 2022
One of the things that brings the most joy to my life is sharing the Cultural Arts of Capoeira with people everywhere.
In this occasion we were invited to do a workshop for a group of mums and their sons of a Sydney school. We love to share the rich history, telling stories and explaining the origins of the Fight of Freedom to these awesome families.
An experience full of fun, games, movement, music, kicks and acrobatics strengthening the bond between mums, children and friends. Capoeira is a phenomenal tool that integrates individuals, promoting physicality, body & spatial awareness, social skills, motor coordination, music & rhythm and much more.
This was one of the many Workshops we bring to groups, schools and communities that we bring this amazing Art to. For more info, get in touch through the info below.

It also can be done with one hand down.
That's right. We find it's more effective for beginners to learn with 2 hands first. More control and stability. When they get more confident with the movement, they progress for 1 hand. 👍
@@abada-capoeirasydneyofficial em qual ocasiao vc sente que poe mais forca ou velocidade? Quando acompanha o fim do chute com o corpo ou quando deixa o tronco de contrapeso e alavanca? Reparo que na capoeira fazem ele de diferentes jeitos, maioria dos q vejo da capoeira indo pra pegar deixa o corpo atrasado em vez de acompanhar. Talvez pelo toque tb pode variar né....
@@r4nhuturtlerider Com certeza! O toque comanda o tipo de jogo que é jogado. No caso do São Bento, a parte que gera mais força e velocidade é o quadril. Quando você coloca o quadril pra frente, o golpe sai mais potente. Importante controlar e trazer o pé pra finalizar na posição da ginga para manter a qualidade do golpe. Espero ter ajudado.

One great detail I see here that helps me is that, during the turn, the crossed-over foot turns on the heel of the foot first, then on the ball of the foot, whereas the support foot turns on the ball of the foot first, then on the heel: Crossed-over foot = heel, then ball Support foot = ball, then heel This is the same pattern we see when turning 180° from descida básica to negativa moderna, which makes it easy to remember. how did you dye such a clean line between the yellow and the white? did you use a cable tie or some kind of tape like pvc? does this method work for the ends of the corda too (when you dye only the knots for kids cordas)?
Hi Harel. I do it 2 different ways: 1. Plastic bag + Cable tie 2. Rubber from tyre chamber Yes, this works for when you're dying only the tassel/tips.
