i'm looking for a game similar to this. i remember you fight a squire, a worg and maybe a wizard
i think it has the same sound effects! the alchemist has the same noise as the squire!
One of my favorites back in 1986
I remember playing the 512k Bach fugue over and over as a kid on the old Mac.
Why on earth is the blood pressure dropping that rapidly when all you're doing is applying antiseptic 😂
I wrote so much music on this program... in fact I worked for the company for a while.
My best friend and I used to play this on his Apple ][ back in the mid 80s. Just seeing this takes me back to sitting together in his bedroom. Thanks for sharing.
sound of the funky drummer
This wuz MY JAM
So much swearing in this video!
@@Eshaktaar 🤣
try key 'I' then 'M' (when game is pausing 'ESC') 🙂
OMG Thank You!
Personally I think this is a historical game. Thanks Ryan.
Thank youuuuuu
This looks like it might be intended to be played with the paddle. Good unique action games are a little thin on the II so this looks kind of interesting if the proper controls could be worked out. As it is, it looks too spastic to play.
Good stuff.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I remember playing this game back in the day. I got quite far in it but got stuck and never beat it.
Awesome. A new game for me. Did not introduced in Korea.
@@freemarketrights4633 Oh, now I’m super-interested in what the Korean Apple II community was like. Apparently there was more than one clone machine?
@@ryanfb In the early 1980s, Korea's 8-bit computer market was dominated by Apple II and MSX. Big companies like Samsung and LG mainly invested in MSX, and the official Apple 2 was not available. Most of them were pirated copies and most of the programs were pirated products. I couldn't find commodore64 or ATARI at all, and it was only available through computer magazines.
@@ryanfb In the early 1980s, Korea's 8-bit computer market mainly consisted of APPLE2 and MSX. But unfortunately, most of APPLE2 were pirated products made by small businesses. Almost all of the programs were pirated products because large corporations such as Samsung and LG did not handle APPLE2 and invested in MSX or their own brands. So Korean users could not access official Apple2 computers. After this, when the Macintosh was introduced, a company was created that officially imported and sold Apple computers, but by that time, APPLE2 had already entered a period of decline. Commodore64 could only be seen in magazines, and there was no way to actually see it in Korea.
have never played this
Pretty good graphics for Apple II
apple ][ had color???wow!!!(apple 4 da win!!!)
This game looms HUGE in my childhood. Loved this game! Played on a //e as well.
Does this still work?
I would like to see a game played by a pro Taxman player.
Sadly most of the funding for full-time professional Taxman players has dried up in recent years
@@ryanfb is anyone still playing? kinda online championship... i would join... taxman only

Love this game! Thanks for the nostalgia!
Hi! I loved this game, definitely learned things about engines.
@@cheeseparis1 I was surprised to see it seems to be a pretty faithful working simulation! Do you remember if you were able to switch modes without rebooting?
@@ryanfb I don't remember reboots. I was playing a ... ahem... friend's backup copy of the game on Apple II+
Wow! If only I had known of this game way back when, I'd be working on the big rigs by now.
Great video Ryan!!
No you know the real reason they put sewers in this game because there's a secret side quest in deja Vu that they just found out about. Nobody knew this for years. Just discovered a year ago but deja vu is where we met the teenage mutant Ninja turtles for the first time. Because the super secret side quest of deja vu is to find the turtles and hopefully rescue them in time so they can save April O'Neil and beat shredder to save the world. This was their first appearance anywhere even before they became popular. But it is super complicated to get to. I can put a link if you're interested..
Why am I such a weirdo? I love a 8bit music so much
Which version of these games do you like is the black and white or the nes. I always got the in the ass was kind of like the deluxe version because of that music and color
@@CrazyHomelessWeirdo I grew up mostly playing games on the NES but there’s something I love about the black & white style of the Classic Mac!
@@ryanfb what I like about shadowgate original is drawings seemed a little bit more detailed and better than the NES version but what I didn't like is it was no sound or music. It felt like a pretty flat experience compared to the NES version because NES shadowgate because the sound effects and music as well as the color really pulled you in. I would love to play the original if there was a way to combine NES music and sound effects with the original version. In fact deja Vu and Shadowgate are two of my favorite games of all time. I probably would include uninvited and deja Vu 2 if I had played though them yet. The only reason I have not is because I don't want to feel like the series is over because I love it so much and if I finish the last two games it's kind of like saying goodbye to one of my favorite series. The mac venture series was a solid series of games.

Wow, I played this when I was a kid visiting family out of town and I couldn’t remember if it was just a bad dream or not now I know it was real. Thanks for this video.
"...it has a lot of slowdown, I feel." Haha, ya think?! This had to absolutely slam the CPU on an Apple II.
Great video Ryan!
Great game. But one of those games that really was Apple IIe looking
