How to install a 12v Outlet in Truck Bed and wire it to a uplifter switch. we added a 12v outlet to our ford f350 truch bed to go with the 7 pin connector. We could have wired this to the 7 pin power wire but we wanted the power to be a "Home run" from the outlet to the uplifter switch so we couild control when it was powered. as cathound asked how long will a 20lb tank last?

    • @exploretheopenroad
      @exploretheopenroad 12 днів тому

      At full load a 20lb tank will last about 12 hrs, that’s a worse case scenario. Running on a lessor load you could get up to about 30 hrs on a 20lb tank; best case scenario. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps.

    If you haven't done it, I highly suggest pulling your plug and checking the gap as the Hutch Mountain Instructions directs. I recently purchased two EU2200is and they were both out of gap clearance FROM Honda. But, fortunately, HM recommends to check this and I say this because after I did take the time to check them and correct them, they both ran better obviously on fuel and the Propane.

    • @exploretheopenroad
      @exploretheopenroad 12 днів тому

      Yes I did check the gap and it was within specs. I was surprised how rough it ran on the propane at first but is seams to run better over time. I’m thinking maybe there was still some gas residue left over. Time will tell. Thanks for watching and your input is appreciated.

    What pompous stuff is this? Why would I put big red numbers on my Airstream? I'm really curious...

    • @exploretheopenroad
      @exploretheopenroad 3 місяці тому

      In order to get the numbers you would need to join the Airstream Club International www.airstream club.org on their page you can read about the clubs history and how the BRN’s are used. Hope this helps maybe we need to do a video on why you would want to do this? Thanks for watching.

    I am a full timer, permanent (non-moving) 5th wheel. Currently have the normal sewer hoses and looking to go to this pump style. Question.....I leave my grey tank open all the time for drainage, can I still do this with the macerator pump?

    • @exploretheopenroad
      @exploretheopenroad 3 місяці тому

      The pump needs to be turned off and on manually. The way we’ve used it is to close the valve until we were ready to drain the tank then we would start the pump.

    It looks to me that the "T" in AIRSTREAM is Center.

    • @brucefay5126
      @brucefay5126 4 місяці тому

      The letters do not take up equal horizontal space but (appear to) have equal space between adjacent letters. Look at the “I” (in A I R on the trailer) and this will be obvious. While the ‘“T” is the middle letter in “AIRSTREAM” (5th of 9 from either end) the middle of the “T” is NOT the horizontal mid-point of the word “AIRSTREAM”, as measured from the lower left corner of the first “A” to the lower right corner of the “M”.

    Today’s fun fact from an actual typesetter: Letters and numbers are NOT the same height. Letters (and numbers) with rounded bottoms sit lower than those with flat bottoms. It’s because of an optical illusion. If they sat precisely on the same line, they’d look wonky. Varying the amount that the rounded letters sit below the baseline causes them to appear to our eyes to be on the same line, even when they’re not.

    I cringed watching your table saw cuts, never cut across a board that is wider than long, please use a push stick and don’t reach behind a spinning blade to pick up the wood, wait till it stops. Please watch a couple table saw safety videos.

      I should have added do not try this at home. 40+ years behind those saws and still have all my fingers. But you are correct it only takes one time and then I’m only counting 9. Thanks for watching.

    Great improvement. My guess is that when Airstream changed over to 12v refrigerators, they left that storage compartment as is. My guess is that older models with 3 way refrigerators use that area for ventilation when using propane.

    If you have a honey wagon or tote for use in sites with no sewer, bring the macerator and hose and put the tote in your truck. Fill the tote using the macerator pump. Now, you don’t have to drag the tote to your truck and you can drive normally to dump the tote.

  • @UpintheAir.stream
    @UpintheAir.stream Рік тому

    If you flush your black tank every time, the order in which you dumped is fine, however if not the gray tank should be dumped second, just a suggestion , your waste , your choice.

    • @exploretheopenroad
      @exploretheopenroad Рік тому

      We always flush the black tank then dump the gray after the black then flush the gray as well. The flow using the Macerator pump is very slow so your not getting that fast flow flush like dumping directly into a sewer. Then after the tanks are flushed I flush the 100’ hose so it clean as well. It a time consuming process but at least I can dump the tanks. We are still using this method 9.5 months later no issues other that the pump cutting off due to high temps ( mostly the 95+ temps we’ve had down here in south Florida. Thanks for watching.
