HEY DUMBS**T THE PIN AND THE SHAFT ARE ON THE DOWN ROD IN THE BOX NOT ON THE MOTOR AND YOU DONT NEED TO PUT THE WIRE CAPS ON THE WIRES WHEN THE FAN IS NOT ON THE BRACKET AND THERES SUPPOSED TO BE A COPPER WIRE

I have this ceiling fan in my bedroom. Still works nearly 20 years later. That's one thing I like about Hampton Bay. Most of their ceiling fans have a lifetime warranty.
