At least langkawi remains open during this monsoon season, unlike perhentian, redang etc in the peninsular's east coast. Great that you got to enjoy at least some of the time there with your mom amidst the sunny now rainy next current weather. It has also been raining about every day now for the past 2 weeks in borneo, as a matter of fact it is raining moderately heavy right now where I am. @toni.marie.graham yeah, they shld not fry the fries together with the fish. But there are good fish & chip in langkawi at the beaches I am sure. The chef tried to be creative but end up disaster looking fish & chip.
@toni.marie.graham at genting highlands there is Harry Ramsden fish & chip. But not cheap. Just like beef Wellington at Gordon Ramsey is not cheap.
Skybridge is scary and tough for old people.

Yes it was lovely but actually as you described in spain, a typical English breakfast for my family is also toast , cereal or fruit with a cup of tea or coffee . But when on holiday and breakfast is included within the price, I do end up eating both breakfast and lunch within the same timeframe 🤭😂

I think the flower you mentioned is not a hibiscus flower, but I'm not sure what it's called in English, in Malay we call it Bunga Cempaka. The red Bunga Raya or Hibiscus flower is Malaysia national flower.
