Titles “how to protect”. Proceeds with 35+ minutes of tirading against the morals of the culture. 3 minutes on keep good company and bring kids to church.
Don’t you love it when we start in the middle of a paragraph? Why leave out the start of the thought in Ephesians 5:21? Or how about we consider that this thought continues through chapter 6? Because then we’d have to consider that the whole passage is written to address a context of Roman Patriarchy and is less a universal command. He’s giving a Christian outlook on a Roman cultural paradigm, not establishing that paradigm.
I challenge anyone who disagrees to read the full passage through Ephesians 6. No one will say masters had spiritual authority over their slaves, but that would be the consistent teaching if we take the earlier part of this passage to mean men have spiritual authority over their wives. We ignore eph 6:5-9 because it “doesn’t apply” to our current culture, in doing so we discard a key part of seeing why this was written to that audience this way. We skip 5:21 because it gets in the way of what we want to teach.
2 Peter 2:4 For If God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into Tartartus and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until judgement; but preserved Noah...when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly. 1-Why did angels sin at the time of Noah? 2.What was their sing? .....3- Why Chains of gloomy darkness?..... Could reading be related to 1 Peter 3:19-22 19 in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, 20 because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, ......4...spirits in prison due to not obeying God before Noah's Flood. And immersion in water saved mankind back then just as now. H0w could this subject not be related to JUDE 6 6 And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day- 7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire,[d] serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. -----5---- again Angels in chains for leaving their proper dwelling, kept in gloomy darkness Are there any writings from the 2nd Temple era that could shed more light on these puzzling happenings? Well, there's those DEAD SEA SCROLLs date the 3rd BC that do mention these weird events. the pseudepigraphic book of 1 Enoch have many chapters greatly detailing the events that were very briefly described in Genesis 6:1-4. 1 Ehoch chapters 6-16 give much greater information to the reader which makes these "worrisome, troubling" verses in 1 Peter 3:18-33, 2 Peter 2:2-6 and the Epistle of Jude much more understandable and coherent, Before you run off to Matt 22:29-31 I have a question. Will humans be given in marriage in Heaven. Just like the angels, the answer is no, Is it true that in Genesis 19. a meal was prepared for the 3 holy ones that were with Abraham & Sarah? did they eat and drink? so you would say that angels are capable of doing physical this while on earth?
lol.
Just outstanding! :)
I guess Jesus forgot to tell the thief on the cross that his faith was dead, and can’t save him if it had not works
Thank you for a wonderful lesson
Amazing!

Great job, per usual. I think part of the challenge to trusting the HS is that we like to think we know how something works before we trust it - unless we've experienced it before. But if anyone points to an instance in their life where they credit the Holy Spirit working there will always be skeptics who come out of the woodworks. Technical note: Looks like we're having issues with the audio sync again - we need to try upping the delay to ~1500ms.
Except for him watering down the fear of the Lord, & his apparent inexplicable opposition to musical instruments, this is a very good & much-needed message.
God is not like us is right on!!!
Yes, the Hebrew word used for "God" in Genesis 1:1 is the plural "Elohim" this point is clearly made as a reference to the triune nature of God. The God of the Bible exists simultaneously in three personalities, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
A lesson that I really needed to hear.
Preach it!!
This is a great lesson, which we should pass along to all we meet.
I just had to say, I prepared a significant response to atheism. For more info, see my channel.
God has given up a pattern just as He gave Noah, Moses and Paul. The New Testatment is the pattern to the Church, the example of the Ark to us in this present age.
Nilo Milo is a true Man of God.
Dr Barfield has a tremendous command of God's Word, especially the events of 70 AD and his words put into perfect place many scriptures that typically throw a wrench into the works of many errant doctrines that have led many astray. Thank you Kenny for your great lesson which is drawn primarily from material from your 11th grade Revelation of Jesus class at MHBS. When it the book coming? I hope it;s soon.
What a pity you did not invite an intelligent atheist to refute your silly talk on atheists. There is nothing easier than talking to an audience of fellow believers that know nothing about atheists by someone that twists the truth about atheists! You say we atheists don’t care about our fellow man like you Christians do? You sir are the epitome of all that is bad about religion!
