Raising Monarchs: Are you actually helping?
What started as a desire to tap into my childhood love for insects turned into a transformative experience (pun intended). Witnessing the metamorphosis of a butterfly is an incredibly unique experience, unlike any other. However, what I gained from this experience was even more valuable, and I felt it was important to share not only what I saw and learned about the process but also the significance of conservation and what the conservation of these magnificent creatures should look like.

Every year I have to wait until I catch a female laying eggs and follow her around to collect those leaves. If I don't, they are gone by the next day. I blame the ants. I also have tons of wasps as they love my pollinator garden. I raise about 30-60 every year. Tip: a layer of paper towels to line your terrarium will make it easier to clean. Floral tube's will help keep the milkweed fresher, or just wrap a small wad of wet paper towel around the stem of the leaf, wrap with a small piece of seran wrap or cut piece of plastic bag and secure with a twist tie.

Josh, I am so happy to happened upon your video. I was absolutely mesmerized. What a great job you did caring for your insect family. I have seeds of a number of Asclepia varieties. I will not bring any caterpillars in the house next year, but I am definitely setting up a care station on my deck. There will be a lot of milkweed growing, and hopefully many monarchs will find them. I am thinking about some kind of enclosure or mesh to keep predators out. Thank you so much for giving me the extra motivation to take on such a project. ❤❤❤

There's really not much of a mystery.. In Europe the stone walls are everywhere, in any landscape that has many stones. The farmers would move the rocks to define their fields, and soon enough they would get a wall.
