      It’s difficult to measure the impact of the suppressor. It changes the sharpness of the sound too. Donnyfl suppressors are all roughly the same price. If noise reduction is a bigger concern the mobility, I’d get a larger suppressor. The Emperor is $40 more and it’s twice the size. I have it on my .30 AEA HP SS and all I can hear is the valve and hammer slap. I have no problems hunting coyotes on my in laws 0.25 acre lot in an upper middle class neighborhood at night. I bought it in a .457/.50 size so I can use it on my .457 challenger. With the extender on it, it makes the Challenger pretty quiet too. Not quite backyard friendly, but it’s quiet enough that nobody would think it’s a gun.

    If you are too close, you may overload the dB meter. Then all shots and moderators sound the same. Or at least, the difference reported by the device will be smaller than it actually is. When your meter is one foot away, an inch variation in distance will make a large difference in the reading. Is the end of the barrel what sets the placement of the dB meter, or the end of the moderator? If the former, a longer moderator will measure a larger advantage than it actually has. This question become almost moot, if you are 3 to 6 feet away from the meter. Further away may be more representative of what your ears hear. Or the ears of the humans next door. Or the ears of your quarry.

    I have been looking for a review on the ronin, I want to put it on a 50 caliber Megalodon. I don’t need whisper quiet, i just want to tone down the crack the rifle makes some amount. I don’t want to throw away funds on stuff that doesn’t work. Think it would be effective on a full power 50 caliber that has 4500 psi tanks? You make a good review video I would like to tell you, I’m new to airguns , I’ve seen a few other videos where they claim the moderator actually improved shot grouping, it would seem you just proved that to be true. I will sub your channel. Thank you for this review.

    • @kungfoochicken08
      @kungfoochicken08 21 день тому

      If mobility isn’t an issue, I’d go with the larger Emperor. It’s 11”, compared to the Ronin’s 5.5”. It’s only $50 more than the Ronin, but you’re getting at least twice as much suppression. They sell a 6” extender for it that’s $60 if you want even more. I packed mine with “motorcycle exhaust packing” that you can get on Amazon for $10. Get the 0.40 thick pad and then you’ll have to pull that in half to fit it inside the Emperor. The big bore guns just move so much more air, especially at 4500psi. If you’re already going to put $180 down for a Ronin, you’re going to be much happier spending a few dollars more to get the Emperor. I have it on my .457 Challenger. With the extender and motorcycle exhaust stuffing, it’s right on the edge of being backyard friendly. DonnyFL sells a Great Kami too. It’s 16” long.

    • @noonespecific9463
      @noonespecific9463 21 день тому

      @@kungfoochicken08 , I was just looking at a Great Kami the other day. It’s going to be the best overall I think, options are limited. I already dropped a small fortune on this adventure, I might as well go all in. I could live without one, I don’t have to worry about being backyard friendly. I have 2 a500 steel targets hanging in my front yard , one at 50 yards and one at 75, it’s 12:23 AM as I type this and I could get up and go outside and blast away at my targets and no one would hear it, no one close enough. I still like the idea of a decent moderator, I could shoot it where I work if I tone it down just a touch. Thanks for the good advice though.

    • @kungfoochicken08
      @kungfoochicken08 21 день тому

      @@noonespecific9463 The Great Kami is great. It’s got room for you to put the motorcycle exhaust packing in there too. You can play around with it and see what works best for you. Turning down the PSI to 2600-3000 will help reduce noise too, though you might have to re-zero your sights when you jump back up to 4500.

      Hi, thanks for watching my videos! This was something that appeared to me just by trial and error. I basically found it out because the exact same tune (with same speed) resulted in overall worse accuracy with the trusty moderator. Then I just decided to change it up to a smaller one and the accuracy increase was there. Dumb luck I think in my case. This might be PCP platform specific gimmick. The temperature where I started to see the change affecting was around 70-80f. I found it out on the fields of montana when it was really hot weather the first time and I was hunting.

    Where do I get a PEEK valve for my .25 Flash?

    • @MontanaAirGunner
      @MontanaAirGunner 5 місяців тому

      Hi, thanks for watching my video. The PEEK valve seat was actually done to me by another airgunning enthusiast from GTA forum. His handle is Rallyshark and he is one of the OG tuners of Hatsan Flash. You can not buy this PEEK valve seat as an aftermarket part at all. Rallyshark has a lenghty forum post about what he did to his Flash and I have taken mostly the same road with my one on tuning. The biggest difference with PEEK compared to a normal seat is the opening of the hole on the seat and how it seats with the pin. PEEK is much more rigid material than the normal material used on the seat and therefore can be opened more and it still provides sufficient seal with the pin.

You can find them on most places that have S&T stuff. Like Utah airguns has them: utahairguns.com/product/saber-tactical-fx-impact-q-d-hook-style-sling-adapter-st0042/

      I have an EagleVision goPro mount on it and a modified goPro 7 with a special lens. It works out pretty good, but on low light conditions it will "flicker" a bit.

    HI!!!!Will this mod. work in 22 marauder as well as in the 25 Marauder air rifle? so i can just swap'em?

    • @MontanaAirGunner
      @MontanaAirGunner 5 місяців тому

      If you get it in .25 it will definately work. I had mine as .25 due to the shroud surrounding the barrel on my Flash. I got it just in case there is some slop on the shroud so I don't clip it. Marauders should be fine not one upping the moderator. If you have .25 in the .22 barrel it will be just a tad louder, that's all.

I love your videos and I follow you closely. I found you in my hatsan days and collected as much knowledge as I could from u. I love aea now, but my hatsans still get the use they deserve. I love watching all your videos.And I hope you keep them up for as long as you can

      Thanks man, for the uplifting comments! I have been now busy with real life work and it would be nice to have the time to concentrate more on this. I have around 10 videos in the works and that should get the channel all the way to the end of year hopefully. Hatsan sure is a lot of fun for the money! I have been filming now on the Hatsan a few videos with ammo testing. I hope that to get them gone soon so they would benefit everyone with the info.

    Hey I was just wondering about a couple of things. 1) How much does that setup weigh? Ive got a precision 6.5 Creedmoor that is pushing 20 lbs. Too heavy to arm carry all day. And 2) That does not sound like a Montana accent to me.........where are you from originally?

    • @MontanaAirGunner

      Thanks for watching my videos! The setup that I have is with a sling slightly above 16 pounds, so it is not light for sure. I am originally from one of the scandinavian countries :) So not born and raised in Montana.

    Hello, I heard you can remove the bottle with air still in it, of course as long as the valve is still in the bottle. I was going to order another valve, so my 580cc tank has a valve and my 700cc tank has a valve. That way when one tank is out of air I can just put the other tank in ready to shoot. Is it true or just hogwash.

    • @MontanaAirGunner
      @MontanaAirGunner 7 місяців тому

      I do the same myself. I have 2 bottles, other one 580cc and other 700cc. Both have valves so I can change between them if I run out on the other one. Great for hunting scenarios if you don't want to carry a SCBA bottle, but still want a bit more shots.

    Did u have any trouble getting the valve seat out? I can't get mine out because it's flush against the metal so there's no lip to Catch on when trying to push it out. My new gun is leaking there and I need to replace it

    • @MontanaAirGunner
      @MontanaAirGunner 7 місяців тому

      I really had to fish mine out with the smallest allenkey I had the first time doing it. If you can wiggle it there it will slide out. One option is also to use an o-ring pick if you bend the end on it. If it is leaking, I would suggest getting a PEEK valve done to it and have it opened up a bit. It will wake up the whole PCP with bigger inner diameter on the PEEK valve.

    • @tinkerman9434
      @tinkerman9434 7 місяців тому

      Do u have a link to the parts? This is my 2ed flash with the same issue. I did get it all apart. Nothing is damaged but it's still leaking. The exact same as the last gun. This could really turn a newbe off on pcps

    • @MontanaAirGunner
      @MontanaAirGunner 7 місяців тому

      @@tinkerman9434 Hi, the PEEK valve is something I had a GTA member do to me as a favor. He spins them out when he has time and material to do it. His handle in GTA is Rallyshark. If you need to have a OEM part you should be able to order them through Hatsan USA. I ordered them through the "Customer Service Form" then just add the Hatsan Flash info and find the part number from the exploded picture that should be 2314(valve) and 2315 valve o-ring. If the PCP is under warranty you should be getting them for free.
