15 + Subie STI - Tips

Hey everyone,
I’ve been a Subaru STI owner for a few months now and I’ve learned a thing or two about these cars. While I really love this car, I had to start addressing some small fixes within the first month I purchased it (I guess it is part of buying a used car).
While, I’m not a mechanic, I’ve managed to save money by tackling some repairs myself. This channel is for anyone who wants to learn how to do the same. I hope you learn something from my content and please feel free to share any insights.
Cheers!!

Tools needed: - Ratchet (10mm) - 10mm socket - Extensions - Flathead screwdriver - Pliers (for removing clamps) The P000D engine code (B camshaft position slow response) is a frequent cause of the check engine light coming on. While there are many potential reasons fo...
My issue is I think the trunk itself is fine but I did see the 3 pin connector to the wires of the plug you unplugged was missing. I think I need that piece in order for all 3 of my buttons to work again.
What is the part number for the solenoid you replaced?
I bought a 2017 STI, and after a week this happened to me. I will be replacing those oil control sensors. Hopefully this will do it for me.
Good luck! I hope it works!
Did it fix it
Can you share the part number?
WRX STI 2015-2019 57530FJ020 I hope this helps!
So just an update here, and I will probably upload another video. The code came back, but didn’t trigger the check engine light. However, after wiggling the connectors it went away. It did it one more time, so I cleaned the connectors, and it hasn’t came back. I think I’m dealing with dirty plugs or an electrical issue.
did you have to drain the oil for this? Also what was the hose for that you unclamped on that side?
Hey, I didn’t have to drain the oil at all, just have some shop towels since you will get a couple of oil drops. I believe that hose is just a vacuum hose. Mine were pretty stuck, so try to be gentle to avoid damaging them. I hope this helps!
@@15SubieSTI what did the hose belong to that you unclamped in order to get the sensor out?
I am not a certified mechanic, however, I believe they are vacuum hoses. If you decide to do this yourself, just be careful to not damage then, otherwise you will have to replace them. Additionally, make sure when you put them back on, that the clamps is properly holding the hoses to avoid any air leaks.
