    I thought the Dodgers were in command in the 6th. Headed toward a 3game - 1 game aeries plead. First Series I watched. The 6th inning call cost the Dodgers a run:+ but it was only the 6th. The truth looking back is that after the 5th the Yankees outscored the Dodgers 23-4 for the next 21.5 innings. They earned it. Dodgers needed to find a way to score more after tbeir home run. But I would liked to have the interfernce called correctly to see if John could have stayedxin tge game

    Never saw this commercial. The thing I love about the 1970-1972 Yankees is the amazing lack of power in the starting infield. Thurmun Munson, Danny Cater, Horace Clarke, Gene Michaels, Jerry Kenny, Celerino Sanchez. Pepitone left in 1969 at Firstbase and Nettles came in at 3B in 1973. Ron Bloomberg had some power in 1972.

    That Zanardi move was bonkers - rejoining by going the wrong way up the pit entrance. Why he didn't go directly to his pit instead is a mystery.

    "Two days later, the miracle was made complete. My boys defeated Finland to win the gold medal. Coming from behind once again. As I watched them out there, celebrating on the ice, I realised that Patti had been right. It was a lot more than a hockey game. Not just for those who watched it, but for those who played it. I've often been asked in the years since Lake Placid, 'What was the best moment for me?'. Well, it was here. The sight of 20 young men of such different backgrounds now standing as one. Young men willing to sacrifice so much of themselves, all for an unknown. A few years later, the US began using professional athletes at the games. Dream teams. I always find that term ironic. Because now that we have dream teams, we seldom ever get to dream. But on 1 weekend, as America and the world watched, a group of remarkable young men gave the nation what it needed the most, a chance for 1 night, not only to dream, but a chance once again to believe."

    All Roger wanted to do was win the world series. He did that twice with the Yankees. I think fans today are way more appreciative of players these days then they were in 1961 and 1962. I'm so glad that all of the home run races the past 29-30 years has brought him so much more positive fame. He's well deserving of the Hall of Fame!

    Crazy to think, Don Mattingly, Will Clark, Mark Grace, and Keith Hernandez are not in the hall. I know what people are gonna say, "It's not the 'hall of very good'," but still these dudes could rake. Sure, not 'power' guys, but pure hitters, and superb fielders (I know not a premium position), but still. Did any first basemen from the 1980-90s make it into the hall, for some reason I am drawing a blank outside of Bagwell? I guess Harold Baines made it in with inferior WAR then all the guys above and provided no defense. I likes Baines a professional hitter if there ever was one. And, I am not saying Baines doesn't belong, but why not the first four?? Where they Lou Gehrig? No, but if that's the bar, no one's getting in! Edit: Ok Eddie Murray, well deserved. Another thing about the top four, I would bet donuts to dollars they didn't JUICE (If you don't count Hernandez snorting the "Devil's Dandruff").

    • @tommyfu9271
      @tommyfu9271 3 місяці тому

      Harold Baines making it is a joke and he only made it bc Larussa and Reinsorf are on the veterans committee and they love Baines.It's the only reason Baines got in. I mean if we're going to lower the bar so much that it becomes put everyone in better than Baines than a ton more players are going to go in and it's really going to turn into a complete clown show.

    • @johnreesekl6249
      @johnreesekl6249 3 місяці тому

      @@tommyfu9271 It can't turn into what it already is. Pete Rose and Barry Bonds not being in the Hall kind of makes it questionable. Now, I am not saying they should go in, both are pretty unsavory, to put it nicely. But, there are other unsavory players already in. I am not sure Ty Cobb would get in with the modern voters, as he was also "unsavory." Not to pile onto Baines, and I probably wouldn't have voted for him, but there are worse players in the hall than him. Just all too random, but it should be "for the fans," not for the Bill James' of the world.

    • @tommyfu9271
      @tommyfu9271 3 місяці тому

      @@johnreesekl6249 Arod Bonds Clemens and Rose should all be in. Baines had a nice long career most players would be jealous of. But the facts are the facts If he's not the worst HOFer ever he's likely the worst post integration HOFer.

    Those 1970 Yankees, oh boy. A great team. 92-70. Any year in the 50’s, the 60’s, they would have won the pennant. But, unfortunately, the Orioles were greater. Much greater. I mean, how could you top 109-52? You can’t. If it wasn’t for Baltimore, they could have played the Reds in the World Series; maybe win, maybe lose, but then the dynasty would have been uninterrupted, all the way to 1981. A real pity.
