      Casted from 311299 lyman mold with a gas check and sized to .309 inches with 7.5 to 7.8 grains of hogdons titegroup with what ever primer you want in 308 winchester is my pet load with this being a 70 degree locking piece in the bolt group with a Q branded Full Nelson suppressor. It is stable out to 200 yards and a bit beyond

    Reminds me of building up loads for the X54R with 123gr X39 projectiles and Remington 180gr 303 RN soft points. Some of those loads required a 2X4 to open the bolt. A wee bit too hot 🔥

      Describe your issue better please. If you're in the states I recommend using privi partisan 150 grain loads as you wouldn't need a adjustment for the gas system. I have the gas system with the adjustable piston because I wanted to mount a suppressor on the rifle but the barrel isn't concentric to the outside diameter and thin so the smith wouldn't thread it for me

    The bolt velocity on a G3 is already fast. I've seen a silenced G3 clone tear the back of the receiver off. The bolt hammering on the stock pulled the takedown pins right through the receiver on one side. It also broke the stock. It was at AAC's silencer shoot in georgia in 2009 at red hill range. But I can't remember the manufacturer of the rifle.

    I think you had unrealistic expectations, poor technique, lack of patients. This press wasn’t designed to match the output of a $3000 Dillion or apex. It’s never going to do 1000rds and hour. It’s meant for the weekend warrior that shoots 1000rds a month and just enjoy some casual reloading. I’ve reloaded 10000 rounds on this press and other than some minor set up issues it runs great. If you break a press then you forced something instead of stopping and figuring out why things are jammed up. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. With case lube less is more. You can actually get a hydraulic lock with too much and rip a case head off. I still like using a pad and RCBS case lube as I get a much better feel of how much is on the case.

    I also have encountered this complication, but not breaking my Orange Crusher press with use of Lee dies, even though I stupidly placed a 3' pipe on the end of the handle for additional leverage. After a small amount of sizing efforts, I resolved the complication by using graduated sizing dies; starting with one that is .002" larger than finished size. Then the final size and all are concentric when measured, with powder coating still on all castings. I suggest you order another or two other larger sizing dies for your lube-sizer, to prevent further complications or breakage of equipment.

    heat the plastic tube slightly and shove it on. then it will hold 450 small primers. but when you don't pay attention and jam it up, you use a empty plastic water bottle with a small hole in the bottom and shove a straight coat hanger up to clear the jam. and all the primers fall into the bottle. once you clean out mess, maybe a little brake cleaner. use a 3/8" allen wrench to back off the expander screw which will close shaft and allow you to reassemble. I am also a lee 6 pack owner for 4 weeks and have loaded 6,000 9mm rounds. I have had a couple issues, but they have been fixed with a little thought.

    First Cuss much, second that got nothing to do with the lee 6000 that you sticking way way to much lube on cases more not always better. I run around 5000 rounds threw my lee 6000 from 223,9mm,38 spl 350 legend and not a issue my rifle brass I do before it runs threw press I use universal decapper than resize than threw tumbler after check length etc. Than into press to finish . Lee die set just happen to come with press there not actual a part of the press. So I understand your frustrated but it not a fatal flaw with press

    Just blow some compressed air in and confetti cannon them primers out. As for the primer catch tube I cut down a 12g hull and roll crimped it to fit in between the linkage to hold more primers. I agree that Lee has made some real boneheaded decisions over the last few years.

    I think the reason you're getting lower weighted projectiles is because the printing press alloy has a lower percentage of lead in it. The extra antimony and tin is fantastic, but cast straight there's a bit too much. Many people mix pure lead in with their linotype alloy so that it casts heavier, is a bit softer, and it lasts longer. You should be able to find out ratios searching online. Hope that helps!

      I don't know the numbering system but it is a 70 degree angle

    • @ForTheGun
      @ForTheGun 6 місяців тому

      @@potymouf1 I think 70 Degrees is a #20. If you don't mind me asking I'm probably going to go down the same rabbit hole you're with suppressing the G3 platform. Why would a 70deg locking piece be preferred over a smaller angle like a stand 45 deg or a #17 which is a 36 deg. Would a 70 deg locking peice offer less resistance to allow the subsonic rounds to feed correctly?

    • @potymouf1
      @potymouf1 6 місяців тому

      The higher degree number the locker the more recoil inertia/energy is put to the bolt assembly and less into the receiver assembly. So a 10 degree puts almost all energy from the firing event into the receiver via the trunnion and a 90 degree locker puts most of the energy into the bolt and not the receiver. I can only get at 70 degree locker, no higher because the higher lockers are for mp5's and are not close enough of a picture in design to make me spend the money on one to see if it'll work. I know these are essentially gallery loads/anemic so I just bought the highest one figuring it'll work and it does, with the right load, but doesn't cycle the weapon without my suppressor on it. The suppressor I have is a Q branded Full Nelson.

    • @ForTheGun
      @ForTheGun 6 місяців тому

      @@potymouf1 I see so your using the 70 Deg locking piece to offer less resistance for the rounds to cycle. All of the stuff I have read into have people using the 36 degrees locking pieces because the overpressure in the system causes roller dent when suppressed using full powered loads. I'm looking into getting my first suppressor. I figured using a 36 Deg locking piece with a flow through suppressor should mitigate the pressure issues but I'm trying to nail a way to quiet the loads as well
