It's sounds like he watched my life and read my soul. I have endured so much pain brought on by people I loved unconditionally for many years before I finally said to myself exactly what he wrote in these lyrics. I finally see they didn't give a fuck about me... they took and took and never gave the love and devotion I gave to them freely and unconditionally... I forgave every infraction, every affront to my character, every lie ever told about me, every deliberate attack on me or my children and husband. Not until I became very sick with lifelong chronic illnesses did I finally see the reality of the situation. I kept lying to myself saying they loved and cared for me for decades until my illnesses took everything away. My income, my way of living, my ability to help others, then there was no more need for me. Suddenly I was a liar, lazy, a mooch off of the government, useless with no life. They took from me and my husband for decades... we paid their bills, bought groceries, gave them rides to wherever they needed when they had no means of transportation, I housed some of them, paid their medical bills and bought them clothing. And now that I'm too sick to work and earn all the money I once had and my husband died of cancer 9 years ago they have attacked me from every angle trying to destroy what's left of my life. So I made the decision to permanently cut them out of my life. I have been at peace every since. I never realized how good my life could be without them in it. They were toxic people and worst of all, they were my brothers and sisters. But I have no desire to see or hear from them ever again... not in this lifetime or the next. And I have no guilt whatsoever. Just because someone was born from the same Mother and Father doesn't make them your friends. It doesn't require them or you to like or love each other... so it's okay to walk away. Trust me, if you have toxic people in your life let them go. You'll be all the better off for it.

I like it but I like the slash version with tash neal slightly more but both are not as good as Fleetwood Mac’s original
