Righ-chiss? PLEASE.
Great sound. However, it appeared at times that singer and baton were at odds with each other.

This guy is fantastic
Delightful
I listened to many recordings of this aria today, but the others had no emotional appeal like this song should have. The opening phrase of "If with all your heart," was so touching. I felt it.
Ethan, this is a wonderful collection of your talents displayed on this website. Thanks.
Beautiful performance today in Concord!

Complimenti bellissima eseguzione
I have heard this sung by Wagnerian tenors who make it sound like it belongs in an Opera with fire and lightening and I have heard it with lightness such as this recording. I know many will disagree with me, but in this setting I will take this type of singing any day. The only thing I would say as a professional myself is that Mr. Bremner does need to connect better with his audience. You need to know the music well enough that you can at least smile at the audience with your eyes and make them feel at ease. I was always taught that by my voice teachers at the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, connect with your audience, they want to like you. LOL
You sing so wonderfully!!
S t'imbecille c ha un bel gancio..
It seems as if he just learned the music 5 minutes prior to the concert.
Lovely singing. I had to laugh at the woman over his right shoulder when he sang the climactic phrase "Ye shall ever surely find me," though. Eyebrows raised when he sings the Ab with just a slight sign of spread and strain. Orchestra players struggle to hide their feelings sometimes.
Real voices don't need microphones or voice manipulation software - Bravo Ethan Bremmer!
Yes, you've inspired me on interpretation. Your voice combines power and beauty.
Lovely lyric sweet voice.well done sir.
nice
Even the most experienced of singers gets nervous from time to time. Excellent Ethan!
You sound fabulous! I find it very interesting that you do not round as much as most tenors, how do you make it work? you sound like a spinto tenor to me, is that how you see yourself?
These days I see myself as whatever they will hire me for. Much of my work and development has been pointing in the direction of proto-helden tenor rep. Last year i sang my dream role of Florestan in Fidelio. This performance is from a few years back and I tried a newer approach to this aria which involved less rounding and more thoughtful approaches.
Your diction is so good, it's insane. I appreciate every word sung!
Beautiful and inspiring!
Love it - love you! Ruth Casebolt
Sounds great man...
Exquisite.
Professional singers don't bob in time with the beat. Appalling.
Really, dollin'?
@@jobucats2166 Yes, Luray Farmer is right. The voice is pleasant, but the stage presence needs work, "dollin"
@@sgnmath1234 Good morning. This is odd. I don't ever recall watching this video or ever making the "really, dollin" comment. Although I am a music lover of all genres, I don't listen to this type of classical music often. Maybe I was on some medication at that time two years ago. All in all, it's just a chicken wing! Thanks for alerting me to this. It is a nice performance to me, by the way, and I agree with your assessment.
There's a lot of "bobbing" to the beat. Looks odd.

I'm looking for oratorio arias to use for grad school auditions and this and your video of "Then shall the righteousness shine forth" are both extremely helpful. Thank you and excellent work!
Great voice- truly wonderful, but there are some mistakes but overall good
wonderful sound~~
This song has such emotional meaning for me, having first sung this oratorio in a university setting, and one of my favorite tenor professors singing this very piece. Your voice has that same brilliance as his did - thank you for releasing this and lifting my heart!
Ethan!! Great to hear you....doesn't seem fair...my "If with all your hearts" has about 4,000 views and yours over 22K!! No respect for your former teacher:) Sounds beautiful Ethan....glad to see you're doing well.
Well done!!!
As a person who's moving into a career as a classical singer, If With All Your Hearts is going to be my first paid solo aria! I'm singing the piece within the next month or so and I couldn't be more excited! This is such a gorgeous piece, Mendelssohn really did an amazing job.
I overheard a fellow music student in Bible college struggling in a voice lesson to get this piece right. It's worth the effort!
Good luck, Dan - very best wishes!
It seems like those high notes are in chest voice or at least a bigger percentage that I'm used to hearing. Can someone explain this?
nice coordination between the chest and head. I don't what you hear ?
James Frazier I think he is singing with a high positioned larynx on those high notes. It is headish but the larynx is tense and high.
Jose Hernandez It sounds nice, but Im not sure it is too vocally safe.
Jose Hernandez For example. @ 1:18. Joy on their "head" the larynx sounds nice and relaxed.
you voice sounds fine. Jose is one of those 'physical' freaks. Caruso had a teacher that tried to teach him to sing while he was sitting on his stomach. Caruso remarked that the guy was a nut because one day it occurred to him that he couldn't ever perform with that arrangement. If it sounds good, it's probably correct. You have nice vowel sounds and you sing easy. congrats !
Just love this beautiful piece. Sung so well by Ethan. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Just experienced this moving piece by a renowned soloist at my church in Naples, FL for the first time. Upon research, I find this stunning rendition -- played on my birthday - May 9th and in my hometown! JUST PERFECT!!!
Thank you Julie, that was beautiful, and just now I needed that. The Mouse
Gorgeous tenor voice, beautiful ring/ping to it. It must carry easily in a concert hall or opera house.
Yes I work with professional singers and this is definitely a professional performance. I'm an amateur singer myself (professional pianist) and this version helped me to learn this song as we're doing an (amateur) production of Elijah this Autumn. And the words are the same order as my book :)
Great singing
Excellent! Beautifully rendered.
Singing this for a recital! Wonderful performance. Great voice!!!
Playing this on trombone right now. Really nice piece, and wow that guy has a lovely voice!! A good performance to show how it's meant to be performed.
Esta es mi versión favorita de lo que he encontrado en youtube, bravo por el cantante
No entiendo como es que le critican algo, mejor hagan algo de sus vidas, el que critica por lo general es el que menos hace
This is actually a fine Mozart/Rossini/light Donizetti instrument. You could definitely make a good living doing rep like this.
@TenoreRobusto1347 this isn't Messiah. This is Elijah, originally composed for a German text but actually premiered with an English translation.
@HoytNeal Thank you for your comment. However I must note I did not change the word order. This performance is of the Robert Shaw edition which has quite a few word alterations. I also am currently working as a professional opera singer in Boston.
Yeah, I've got a G. Schirmer edition to sing from tomorrow, and I suspect Schirmer is wrong....as usual....!!!!!
Nice voice btw.....Ab's can be squirrely, never as easy as Bb's...nice job.
Some of the pieces translated from German can have some pretty clunky texts. The Creation is one of the worst, which is to say, the funniest. Shaw rewrote the text for that, as well.
