Randomness. Sometimes with years-long gaps.
SBC Fiero
It runs. It drives. It gets some looks.
(I backed up too far and couldn't open the door, lol)
Need to get more across the radiator for long freeway trips.
Probably time to schedule dyno time.

I love this truck, I want to do it on mine, but I want to know how much it costs?
I owned this at one point I don’t remember all the details on it as I want to build one exactly like it.
What all did you need to mount the engine to the cradle?
What is your new 0-60 you need to tune it too I would like to see it tuned to its new setting
Where can I get some PLEASE LET ME KNOW
i want know too
Looks good👍
You actually lose torque with anything other than stock, it came with the best from Australia, I've seen it on the dyno
Everything you said was wrong 🤣 the stock headers are more restricted and known to clog by the cats &Australia didn’t even have this model they didn’t get a trailblazer until it was front wheel drive
Noice!!!
What exhaust set up is that man
Sounds like my buddies honda
Really on the v6 🤦♂️ sounds like a power washer 😂😂😂
it’s a inline 6 not a v6 use ya head next time buddy
Add a real engine here. ua-cam.com/video/kUc599ybe1c/v-deo.html
Been down the boosted 6 route already (a few times). This car came with the SBC conversion already in it, but the old motor was tired. Just looking for a simple street car- 400ish whp, keeping the trunk, no methanol, no IC pipe routing, etc. And I want it done so I can drive it, lol. Seen your videos before, you have a neat project. I think it's a right of passage to have you show up on a V8 Fiero video, so thanks I guess.
@@Fishsticks360 you wont even be close to 400 whp. No sbc owner has made 400 whp n/a. They all claimed to be but once they hit the dyno they were hugely disappointed. Most make 200 whp. The ones who spend big money for cams and heads make about 300 whp. Then they blow thier transmissions out. This is the life story of every sbc fiero swap ever done.
@@Slowv8Fiero Gotcha. Good thing I have 2 extra transmissions. Guess I better go slap some more chrome Mr Gasket accessories on this thing to bring HP up. Anyone have a spare JC Whitney catalog?
@@Slowv8Fiero Think I yoinked your comment by accident. Wasn't my intention. Regardless, I don't know who Tom Corey (or whoever it was) is, nor am I claiming this thing will make 500hp. I'm not going to sit here and bench race with you, but it'll be in the neighborhood through a FWD transmission and light wheel/tire combo. If we miss 400, oh well. 375? I'm happy. 350? I'm still happy. Not really building for dyno numbers. 200? This isn't some TPI pullout or a smog headed truck motor that someone rolled bearings into. We're not doing Boomer Build Hour here. If for some reason I'm not happy, it's got forged pistons and ring gap already.
@@Fishsticks360 Tom coreys wasnt some pullout smog engine. Crate engine with aluminum heads. You will be disappointed. You wont be anywhere near 400 whp. Prove me wrong. Its been 20 years and not a single sbc Fiero owner has yet
Good to see it running! And hell, keep the coolant leak, it's not a fiero without one ;)
ROFL Sounds like an outboard motor
عزززز
Nice
Sounds like my farm tractor......
Yeah it was never a great sounding motor...
They sound like gen 2 raptors
hey whats up with the mass air flow knob thingy on ur intake hose? looks way different than stock one.
Air Flow Indicator
Are u using the stock catalytic converter with the longtube headers
Those 4.2L i6's are junk! I replaced my engine 3 times before I gave up and sold that piece of shit trailblazer. You want reliability and plenty of power go with a 93-98 I6 4.0L. My 93 Jeep I6 4.0L has 386k on it and it's still running smooth, I'd trust to take it across the country.
Dank D'Sign you replaced your engine 3 times? Wtf are you installing 300k mile junkyard engines?? There extremely solid especially the 06-09 models. Your Jeep engines are stout I’ll give you that but saying the 4200 is junk is far from the truth you may have had a bad bunch of luck there
@@truthtimetv4575 ageed. I have a 06 chevy trailblazer with 208k miles on the original engine and transmission
I agree as well. Must have been a shotty junkyard. I've seen more of these with bad tranny's than the motors. Still to this day have seen 2 with bad head gaskets. Early trailblazers had issues with the oil sump gasket and they go out you lose oil pressure and but if you catch it in time or change it just to be sure your good. Once you do the transgo shift kit and Vette servo with pcm tune these things are fun to drive. Every engine has its own problems. Ford 4.9 straight six and jeeps 4.0 straight six are great, but these atlas motors kick ass when it comes to torque and power
@@jaymzreschke4455 I'm at 253K with both engine and transmission held up. I've had 2 transmission flushes and put boron nitride in the engine.
Does it still have a cat?
It sounds great, nice job
Hi I need to know where I can get a lift like that
You should do a walk around of the trailblazer.
Is that tillamok Forrest?
Aye did u have catalyic converters on yours or it came with the headers
What size pipes are u running under the truck and what type of flows and do u have the cataylic converter still on....I just bought mines
I have on 02, she was two when i got her. She now have a newer engine, whole new front end. I stuffed 275 65, 15s under her. I searched out 3 extra spares to make a set of 5. Painted all of them flat black. I have the hood done with a flat black vinyl and the bumpets are next. I got the engine fron a donor 04. I took out the heated seats, the stereo, all the engine and whatever i wanted from it before i scrapped it. I love my truck and drive it much more often than my 13 Challenger..
Do another video actually some more with someone recording from outside on a stand still rev and a passby
I haven't had this truck for a couple years. I got in on the first production run of those headers and actually sold the truck to a friend before the headers arrived. We installed them and drove it before they took it home. I built a 400whp supercharged Tacoma after that which got rear ended and totalled. Now I have a 6.2L NNBS Silverado which may go under the knife soon.
O ok well before I buy how does it sound in person like a V8 or what
Not even close. ua-cam.com/video/O3dn4uBhiGA/v-deo.html&lc=UgjLrxHX8gBXW3gCoAEC
I just order me one soon I will post my video I have some other work getting done to it as well
Thanks i need to now debate cats or no cats they came with the headers
Where did u get ur running boards n how much were they and r they available for the ext
Those are rock sliders, you can get them from arb and other 4x4 fab companies. They’re a few hundred i believe
They are 78" long Trail Gear sliders for Toyota trucks. I cut them down and rewelded them to fit.
how much was it for both body and suspencio lift? I want to do the same to mine
U wouldn't wana sell ur headers would u ????
Where can I get a bumper like that?
Savuth Sak looks like he just took off his bumper cover and has some tubing mounted or welded on there. (What i plan to do to mine) but if your gonna take off your bumper cover and do trails i highly advise getting a radiator skid plate. Removing your bumper cover will give you hell of a lot more approach angle but leaves the bottom of your radiator exposed.
what engine is in this? and is this 4x4 or 4wd?
dude... can you please build me one?
so I ended up ordering MOOG 81114 springs for front/rear, 3" front/rear lift 1.5" wheel spacers 2" body lift. did tranny cooler pcm cai and exhaust just need to install my springs and lift and I'll be done
nice I just purchased one I want to lift it 3"
Charisse Colon Faldetta do it, am lifting mine 3 inches as well and 1.5 inch wheel spacers and putting 32 inch tires, I hope I can fit 33s it tho👀
no other modification like flowmaster or cuts?
there is ZERO exhaust installed after the headers in this video, you can see it when they move the camera around
its only one header right?
do you have a flowmaster on yours
what size lift is this ? I want to lift my trailblazer I just need to know what size lift
Ok
+Tekhi Jones I lowered the truck about 2" before I sold it. It rubbed the 35s a little but not bad. Stick with 33s if you are going to lock the front. 35s + front locker = broken everything. I run a 3RZ swapped Toyota on 39.5s nowadays.
I had no idea trailblazers were actually that capable with serious off roading! I was leaning towards an older just blazer zr2 but now im thinking trailblazer. ..up here in Wisconsin the winter alone justifies the 4x4 and extra gas costs...and havin 4wd in these days never knowing when the shit could hit the fan seems smart
+Leogamer97 oh ya i loke that statight six...my buddy has an 03 he has beaten the ahit out of. ..and now he doesnt know why i dont want to buy his! but ya if it can hold up to 12 years of this dude...its very much reliable.
+Leogamer97 haha i bet! im def going with a trailblazer. im gonna put away another grand or maybe even two and get the cleanest one with the least miles because i plan on keeping it for at least 10 years...my family thinks im losing it when i say i wamt something that can get thru the country when all hell breaks loose and its a must to leave the city (mines milwaukee) and head up north to the woods...lol-but id rather be safe than have me camaro z28 that doesnt like a dusting of snow!
+dean Strathras Go to www.cars.com get a used Chevy Trailblazer. I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT LS 5.3L V-8. I'm looking to buy a used one same engine type to modify into an off roader for search and rescue. However get a BULLRIPPER Transmission
sounds good. was it hard to install
What type of exhaust system does the TB have I have a 2002 GMC envoy and I wanna put that exhaust system on it
How do you like the lock rights. And nice tb BTW been cruising ortb and trailvoy getting some ideas for my tb build thinking of just 3.73 gears lock right rear and 3" lift front and rear with 2" spacers 6x5 to 6x5.5 adapters I can build my armor and such and then doing the front and read disco
Liftmeister lift shocks and springs info please I've an trailvoy account but your info is appreciated
Is this the liftmeister lift and what shocks and springs you used to fit 35s also any lockers not a g80 but like an Eaton or etc
