Mark 2 Design
Приєднався 17 вер 2020
Mark 2 Design on UA-cam is a place to learn 3D design and digital art with me. I will use programs like TinkerCad, Blender, Maya, Mesh Mixer, Chitu Box, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and more to create designs that range from simple to complex. As an avid fan of 80's pop-culture, I do a lot of designs that throwback to some of my favorite franchises like Battletech, G.I. JOE, and STAR WARS.

This is the second in a series of videos where I work on the Mark2Design September 2022 Patreon project, a 1:12 scale G.I. JOE Ferret (ATV). This projects includes 3D Design, 3D Printing (with FDM, SLS, and DLP), post processing, painting, mold making and casting with resin and polyurethane compounds. In this episode I talk about how to make the perfect tires.

This is the first in a series of videos that I am producing aimed at educating fellow action figure customizers. In the video I discuss how to make your own DIY waterslide decals, how to prepare a model, and best practices for application of decals including the use of MICRO SOL and MICRO SET. www.patreon.com/MarkTwoDesign Follow me on: mark2design MarkTwoDesign faceb...
1980's GI JOE Classified SHARC Commercial
Переглядів 4,6 тис.2 роки тому
I found a way to get my kids to play with GI JOE Figures! We had a lot of fun filming this 1980's style GI JOE Commercial for a 3D printed Classified scale SHARC. GI JOE is of course a trademark of HASBRO. We are just having fun here.
Got any tips how to print white ink decals design
I love your stuff, guys! I'm subbed to the channel...didn't see the notification for the stream for some reason, though...sorry I missed it live! We got a good number of great figures this year...kinda lost count at this point. And, we have some great stuff on the way. I have not gotten everything, and I will continue to not get everything, lol. I'm a Sunbow cretin, lol, and never read the comics, watched the DIC show or got into the ARAH toyline. So, my wants are primarily just those things that appeared in the Sunbow cartoon. So, there are maybe only 15, or so, figures I still want to get. And, due to my relatively small display space, I'm gonna pass on all of the Haslabs and most of the other vehicles. I got a trouble bubble, VAMP and a Ferret...will probably get a CLAW as well...and that's probably gonna be it for me. It's been a really fun line to collect...since 2021 when they stepped up their availability, anyway. And, as far as the closeout store regret, I never let that bother me. I'm happy to have these figures at all without having to wade through a bunch of shit to get them...not gonna sweat the few $$ I could have saved by waiting for sales or closeout stores.
Do you make your own decals? If so what program do you use to design them?
I'm gonna use clear waterslide on a motorbike white part. Should I paint white the transparent edges before clear coating, or I can clear coat right on the sticker as it is? Will the edge line be visible after good 3 coats of 2k clear and sanding and buffing?
A real life motorcycle or a model? If it not a model your real concern is what type of clear coat that you are using and will the waterslide stick to your surface? If there is an enamel coat on the paint already I don't know if it will stick. Also, it may appear to stick until it gets wet.
Haha awesome
¿what that is'?¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
How do I get one?
We're nearly at a point where we won't even need Hasbro anymore. Technology like this will advance to where we can come up with anything.
I roll a damp cotton swab to run air pockets.
Did you create the entire Ferret?
Yes. instagram.com/p/Cj51Bl3upfr/
Im shocked there aren't more of these type videos on Yoututbe. Maybe all the hobbyists that become good at this, just end up becoming Super 7 type companies?
So helpful! Also love the action force figures. Hoping to use these as tech deck graphics. Any insights on graphics taking some scraping?
That thing is massive!! We’ll done 👏🏻
nice! I'd like to see how you make the mold for the tires
In the 1960s we would coat brown paper packing tape with several coats of airplane dope that you would get at a hobby store. You could paint on top of the coating with Enamel paint, When dry soak them in water and slide them off for our model railroad projects. Now that’s old-school.
Very very VERY cool. Sadly, if Hasbro were to remake the S.H.A.R.C. today, we'd probably be looking at a Haslab crowd funded project, and they'd be asking everyone for at least $350 for it. Lol
Damn dude that’s awesome. I saw your shop. Wish you were still making those cobra claws. I want one so bad
I am making more CLAWs. I have a machine I can print them on now. The molds were very expensive to make and just didn't last. I'll have some up on the store in a week or so.
I would love to know how you do the molds
That is one big arse S.H.A.R.C.! ... And that's not just a pickup line!
So good! Thanks for sharing the trials and iterations, that’s how learning happens.
damn sweet
Thanks for the live stream, interesting to see how you go about designing the stuff I'll eventually own. I had to go on errands so I couldn't respond. There was a Classified figure that had a removeable mag with pouch, the Cobra Officer which falls out most of the time. Yeah, the Valaverse 5.56 mags are nice that they're removeable, but the scale just bugs me. I think I'll try to mod a larger mag from somewhere and make casts to replace the mags in the Valaverse rifles so that they look right in a figure's hands. If Bobby eventually does a Scar H, I hope the mags will be scaled right or at least not removable which I'd be okay with. You're right about the hands not working on the p-90, I'd still like someone to make one ( I Know Bobby hates them so not Valaverse, unfortunately). Might just cut up a extra Valaverse trigger hand so that a figure could hold a P-90 if one ever does get produced. Good to hear that the obscure 80's guns like the Calico and the Jatimatic Might be seen in the future! BTW, the Calico was also seen in Spaceballs.
interesting video definitely neat to see the process behind it all
This isn't really a technical observation but your Tshirt is awesome!
Another option is to spray the part in Creature Cast Rubber or Plastidip. While the Plastidip will come out satin looking, it dulls easily with a high grit sanding after it has cured.
Very cool to see the beginning of the project. Thanks for sharing.
Take my money! 😁
Great video. That's really useful. I just think of waterslides as being something that came with model kits. I never thought of the benefits or of making my own. Thanks for making this.
So Adobe Illustrator is where I need to go to resize decals? I've been struggling trying to get sizes adjusted
Shut up and take my money!
Any links to the STL?
I just played a real commercial to see if you were on the mark... Spot on bro👌🏽 Tha Dopeness🙌🏽
Always fun to see a new generation enjoying a classic design.
