Pickleball and Pádel in Panamá - Which is Popular in 2024?
The presentation "Padel vs. Pickleball: The Rise of Padel in Panama" explores the increasing popularity of two emerging sports in Panama, Padel and Pickleball, with a particular emphasis on Padel's rapid growth. It begins by highlighting the infrastructure supporting Padel, noting that as of 2024, there are approximately 16 Padel clubs in Panama, featuring around 50 individual courts. In contrast, Pickleball has a smaller presence with three main clubs and a total of eight courts. This stark difference underscores the stronger and faster development of Padel facilities compared to Pickleball in the country.
The presentation further delves into the demographics of the players participating in these sports. Padel attracts a diverse age group, with the majority of players being in their 30s and 40s, which aligns with global trends. This broad appeal is contrasted with Pickleball, which primarily attracts senior players, although there is a growing interest among younger adults. The significant player growth rate for Padel, at 80%, compared to Pickleball's 20%, along with the distribution of courts (85% for Padel and 15% for Pickleball), highlights Padel's dominance and expanding popularity in Panama.
Additionally, the presentation discusses the dynamic nature of Padel, emphasizing its appeal to a younger and more diverse player base. This aspect of the sport contributes to its rapid rise and widespread acceptance. A visual comparison is provided to illustrate the differences in age demographics between Pickleball and Padel players, showcasing how Padel is generally attracting younger players, while Pickleball continues to be popular among older adults.
Overall, the presentation effectively contrasts the growth trajectories and demographic profiles of Padel and Pickleball in Panama, underscoring the former's rapid expansion and broad appeal.

Where exactly is this in panama??
In Nueva Gorgona.
Just found your channel. As a Alberta/Canadian this is very interesting. Just repatriated from BC and am very happy with our decision. Panama has been on our radar for a few years and that is what linked me here. Will have a look at your Panama clips. Subscribed
Loving it. Thank you for your discovery and am glad to help.
You missed my beach playa corona.
I have - yes :( It is lesser known. There are more minor communities pepper the Beaches area, couldn’t cover them all, but I did the most populous and popular ones. Thank you for your comment though.
Check out this amazing video about the best pickleball strategies! Don't miss it: ua-cam.com/video/-IEcZK9f5Zw/v-deo.html
That’s in front of Dreams Resort next door to the Westin.
You’ve got it! Good eye for detail!
It is not true that there are not dedicated pickleball courts in Panama.
There are a few but they’re inside of condo buildings or hotels that are only accessible by guests. Send me a list of those with addresses / locations on the map. I asked many people - nobody was able to provide it.
Thank you for this presentation.
Glad I could help.

I was analyzing your channel. Your content is so good. But you can't get your tergated traffic because you could't set up your SEO properly. your SEO score is too poor. You need ranked keyword to gain tergated Audience.
I don’t do it for the traffic. I’m not doing it for the money either.
Lots of misinformation in this video.
Every single number is verifiable. Google it. Chat GPT it. Uttering empty claims will get you down. I researched my info before putting it into a video. Did you before uttering nonsense?
Ok. Lots is missing, and I only know that from a little research. Number one issue: The original contract was confirmed unconstitutional from the Panamanian highest court, I think 2 years ago. That’s why it was renegotiated and approved by the assembly. The opposition has now gone again to court and says it is still unconstitutional. Second point: Unions! In Panama are many powerful unions. I honestly have no idea, but they always call to block the InterAmericana to paralyze the country. Every day, the businesses lose between 60 to 90 million dollars! I can only guess, but I think the union leaders didn’t got their “pocket money “ and calling for blockades. Every time they block the highway, people can’t get to work. Nobody is looking after them. And to end my comment, a small advice. I was told from a couple Panamanian friends last time to shut up and expats should keep out of any discussion. What shows the underlying racism here in Panama. And if you ask what I said? I ask why the majority of workers have to suffer with the blockades. Nothing else. Since that time, I do not talk to this people anymore. I hate racism. Our dollars are welcome, but other than that, we should keep our mouth shut! I live here now 4 years. My neighbors, 99 % Panamanians, keep me updated. Most of them do not agree with the road closures. They can’t go to work.
Thank you for additional information. Independent thinkers are welcome. I also faced same reaction to me asking probing questions for information. I wanted to educate myself on underlying issues behind the protests. And when you start probing by and questioning (out of curiosity and desire to be educated on the issues at hand), it rubs Panamanians the wrong way and expats are asked to shut up :(
It is called a way to apply pressure to the government by causing an impact in the national economy, specially good if that impact is pretty much lower than the imoact the mine's corruption and contract's unfairness causes (But is hsrder to see because of the phantom budget)
As for the video, I guess you guys have not been quite informing yourselves properly, most of the national experienced lawyers agree that the contract is not only inconstitutional but also its conditions could be even worse than those of the contract before it, and the multiple demands to the supreme court had advanced with the aproval of the "procurador" as he thinks they are inconstitutional as well Most foreigners think of it as a small thing or nothing to worry about, but most people that have seen the operation of the mine, and the national researchers agree that it possibly means a great risk for the entirety of the national economy, as it hurts every other area and steals watter suplies without governamental authorization. So. Should we be proud of not being paid a single cent in all of it operative stage? Or proud of being economically ruined in the other really relevant industries like the Canal, the agriculture and the tourism? They only pay their workers, which mostly of are foreigners, filipinos, something that is also a crime, summed into the great list of inconstitutionalities they have being doing to rob us, Or should we be proud of the unauthorized usage of water from adjacent rivers in the middle of a water crisis that could let the greatest income source of Panama completely unusable? To this day, many other countries have passed through the same thing, from southamerican countries whose citizens relate to the panamanian's cause, to even rumania or haiti, being completely defenseless against this canadian companies that seemingly apply the same methodical robbery all over the world, should we just accept it and trust that if we create a better contract, they will act legal and constitutional NOW? It is only up to panamanians to decide, and we are already pretty fed up with this things, always hoping for the best and getting more screwed than ever before. And they have already decided that Panama is not a miner country.
@@vader2281 I’m sorry. But something is really wrong with Panamanians. The world is still economically struggling from the pandemic. Like I always said in the lockdown months. The reopening of the businesses was not helping a lot, because people didn’t earn any money. Without money, the businesses suffer even longer. What did a minority of the people in Panama? They shut down the country again, short after the reopening of the country. Again people couldn’t go to work. Again businesses didn’t earn money. Results? Small business owners had to close forever! Look at the shopping malls now. Mostly empty spaces. Now, a minority is closing the country down again. 80 million dollars loses every day. People can’t go to work. With what money should the government in Panama fix the roads and infrastructure of the country when businesses don’t pay taxes? No matter what party takes over next year. There is a big hole in the government’s budget because of the roadblocks in the country. And what do people next year? Block the roads again? Sorry. With roadblocks, Panamanian people hurting themselves, not the big guys on the planet. And please. Explain to us what the from SUNTRAC organized vandalism has to do with democracy? I can tell you. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! All the damages have to be fixed. What cost the Panamanian government again money. Well. Absolutely nothing will change in Panama. Even the people in the roadblocks stealing money from Panamanian people! Charging farmers and travelers “road tax”. Not one person in Panama can blame the government to steal money, because every citizen is doing the same. I live in a pure Panamanian neighborhood. And I can tell you that my neighbors are very very angry about this roadblocks. I wouldn’t be surprised if Panama will explode in street fights. Then it will get really ugly. - Don’t blame other countries to ruin Panama. Panamanians are very good in doing it by themselves! - And one other point. Why is the media in Panama reporting about Kenneth Darrington not the truth? He was born in Panama. So he is first a Panamanian citizen. No matter if he has a second passport. Panamanians like to blame other countries for everything. That’s a big issue. You pointed out about researching. If Panamanians would post the truth, we could do a proper research. But we can’t. Look at the story with paramedics blocking the roads because “they didn’t get paid for 23 months”. I hope you see where the issue is here. If not, I point it out for you. PANAMANIANS DO NOT WORK FOR NOTHING. Not one person around the world can work 2 years and not getting paid. - With that said, I hope you figure out what is wrong with this story. SUNTRAC and the paramedics are only doing this to pull Panama into chaos. Nothing else. - And yes. I am against the mining industry. But the legality of the contract is to clear in the courts. Not on the streets!
How many other bidders were there? How many years is the contract? Does the amount increase over the life of the contract?
Very good question about other bidders. Maybe sore losers and other parties involved who didn’t win the contract now try to disband the contract. As to number of years, it’s a 20 year contract.
