This was a must watch, having seen NT's version. I am pleased to say that I got a lot of the story. But this was excellent 👌 Cheers
I am glad u liked it thank you for watching
Nobody would really be smiling if asked to carry such a huge burden as dictator and fixing a crisis of the entire republic!
to right there would be a lot at stake
So, what happened to the presumably main topic: the Hyksos??? You talk about everybody, the kitchen sink and all, but forget about the Hyksos for except an "honoerable mention" bhere and there. Gee
I have done another episode following this one covering what happened after
I Called it Ancient Egypt Rise of an Empire
Loved this! Also love that Edward's family swears they were related to Turpin!
LOL , glad to hear from you guys
So none of the rabbits were the Foul Beast of Caerbaddon
who knows lol
I want to know more about Alfred's last war
I will put it on my todo list
Great vid, can tell your not from the Midlands.
Im as South as south goes lol
The intermediate era is called in arabic more accurate to the situation what it could be translated as the disintegration era or something close to that. I think its more correct than the intermediate era and gives the feeling of the situation
That's a good way of putting it
Very good video and work👌🏼
Thank You for watching 😁
Bro why are they black
They are NOT
The visuals are awesome and the content is great
Thank you
What a great video so much detail in 20 mins keep up the good work
Thank you for watching buddy
Keep making them buddy
I may have already said this before, but your style of telling history with visuals is second to none on youtube for me personally. Example: the heirs of aethelwulf has always flown over my head whenever mentioned in books or media, but somehow your way of showcasing and telling it immediately clicked in my head, and now I know. Anyway, glad to see the channel still kicking!
Thank you I am glad it worked the successions of AEthelwulf's sons is a bit long winded and I was a little worried it lose peoples attention. So I am happy that bit panned out thank you
awesome video thank you
Thanks for the comment its much appreciated
Question! If Hor-Aha is thought to be Narmer's son, why isn't Narmer considered part of the first dynasty?
That's a good question modern Egyptologists came up with the Dynasties as the Ancient Egyptians just did one long list from beginning to the end. If memory serves there are about 4 Egyptian kings lists and they begin with Hor Aha, none of them mention Narmer or Menes. Manetho who was an Egyptian historian that lived in the late Greek period stated that Menes was the first Pharaoh before Hor Aha. Before but Egyptologists were unsure if he was mythical or not as he wasn't on the much older Kings lists. The Narmer Pallett was discovered in the 1990's no one had ever heard of Narmer. before that but it was hard evidence of an earlier reign. Egyptologists by then had all ready established dynasty 1 long before that, so they created a dynasty 0 based before Hor Aha which included Pharaoh's before and during unification.
@@Topicushistory Makes sense, thank you! Will you ever make an "episode 0" of your Egypt series covering what we know about Upper and Lower Egypt before Narmer?
@@kafuuchino3236 I could but as of yet we only have two solid names Scorpion King and Narmer. It is the period we know the least about it seems even the Egyptians themselves forgot about it they believed the God's ruled before Hor Aha. So Egyptologists totally rely on archeology to piece it together. Hopefully when I get round to it they may have discovered something ground breaking.
thanks for the video bud, it was class:-)
0:24 minor correction: It’s Mentuhotep II, not I that did it. Still good vid!
Thank you,
The way the sandals barers looked creeped me out 😊
Thank you for watching
Bro just a little tip its pronounced "pie-krete"
Thanks 👍
Imagine trying to land a plane on an aircraft carrier made of ice 💀
Awesome! So Greek!!!
Thank you for watching
The ancient "Egyptians" were black. The current population are the Arabs who invaded North Africa during the 7th century AD and no other Eurasian or non black population existed in Kmt/"egypt" 4500 yrs ago when the pyramids were built.
Don't bring your issues in America to our Africa please.
Why did you draw the romans as black/Dark. Modern Italians are likely darker than Romans and they’re not that dark.
I didn't I drew them light skin
Mentuhotep II was the one that won the civil war and reigned 50 Years.
Hyksos was ancient Israelites, and the invasion was the second time to them in Egypt, the first time was in 12 Dynasty , and profit Moses was at time of amenmhat III
Nope !!
1:50 Senuseret was a black African man. Both the 11th & 12th dynasties we’re fully black as is easily verified through their own artefacts. Look up Mentuhotep’s sculpture and tell me that’s not a black man. The 18th dynasty that defeated the Hyksos who were so black that even the Amarna mummies studies proved they had the closest affiliation to Great Lakes & Southern Africans. What I cannot understand is how you Egyptomaniacs cannot see they’re a black Nile valley civilisation despite all the completely incontrovertible evidence such as their language which originated in the Horn of Africa, their animals which were independently domesticated in Africa (cattle in the Sudan & donkeys in the Horn of Africa), as well as the qustul incense burner from what’s referred to as “Nubia” that shows the pharaonic traditions existed in the predynastic upper Nile as well as Nabta Playa that proves black Africans were exceptional astronomers capable of understanding concepts only known to modern astronomy in the past/ century. The tashwinat mummy also proves that black Africans practiced mummification 1,000 years prior to any Nile valley mummy. It’s all black African. Even Champollion himself said it was and he’s the father of Egyptology with his deciphering of hieroglyphics. The hieroglyphs for the word “face” is a black man’s face if you needed any proof. The Sphinx has been proven to be an African face thanks to the extreme prognathic features of his face.
Today his name is TRUMP 2O24 AND MORE!
Thank you for watching
Nonsense lol
500 £ to today would be worth 78,800£
Yeah its a big win, thanks for watching
Highwaymen of that area would often carry several pistols, up to a dozen.
Interesting, thanks for your input, its certainly something worth considering.
Horrible Histories made a song about him, starring Mathew Baynton 🎶🎵
Yeah I seen it, it was good.
I became a highwayman 🎶🎶
Anyone else csnt help but think muslim/judaism invading countries is a reoccuring theme? I feel its presence in america.
man was turpin.
Thanks for watching
Were the Hyksos Aryan/Iranian or what?!
The leading theory is semitic
@@Topicushistory Were the Hyksos Semetic?
@@delaramsalmassi4063 That's the leading theory
@@Topicushistory Okay. Thank you.
no problem
I don't understand how dick short Richard but if my name was Richard I definitely wouldn't go by dick
But the real question remains unanswered: what did Dick Turpin think of lupins??? ;-) But seriously, this seems a lot less "romantic" than I'd been led to believe. Just another low, petty thief.
Your right just another thug on horse back
it was not egypt in ancient times. funny how people stop history wherever they want to make their story
Thanks for watching
No one likes a grass.
Agreed
Great job loved it
Am very glad you liked it
Subscribing neat video
Am very glad you liked it
Very interesting. Turpin was evidently guided by circumstance in the beginning, but his continued life of thievng and thuggary, makes me question his moral compass. Would every one who had a bad start in business or even dire circumstances have turned into a character like him, horrible!
Yes some interesting points there as well at that punishment for crime in those days were much were so much harsher than today.
I liked everything about this video except for comic sans
0:32 his.... chucha? hahaha
