"The Street is more important than the Museum"
A courtyard-like square surrounded by properties. Named for its central location in the then emerging business center at Paradeplatz. After 1835, the Zentralhof also served as Zurich's main post office.
The building, which took on its current form between 1873 and 1876, can be reached via Kappeler Hof and Kappeler Gasse. Before the railway, it was the post office where the carriages drove in. There are benches, shady trees and a fountain in the middle that is reminiscent of the watering hole for the post horses. You can have a small snack in the café.
Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse is one of the most prestigious luxury shopping streets in the world. It is home to a wide array of exclusive designer boutiques, high-end jewelry stores, luxury department stores, and renowned Swiss watch brands. Here are some notable luxury shopping destinations on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich, Switzerland.
A street with expensive stores but a must see! Many tramlines lead into Paradeplatz - and a great historical significance as hundreds of years ago this used to be a pig market
It is a central spot for trams in Zurich as well as a traffic hub. Easy walking distance to many parts of Zurich from the main train stations further south on the east side of the lake.
